Chapter 45. Teasing Girls

Succubi Chapter 45. Teasing Girls

My mouth opened. My brain scrambled.

“I—I said I get it,” I mumbled, trying to maintain eye contact like a good, well-raised human, gentleman, or whatever.

But nope. My traitorous eyes glanced downward again.

Her smirk curved like a cat who’d caught a mouse and was now deciding whether to play with it or eat it. “Nice,” she murmured, then released my chin with a soft little pat.

“I know you love it.”

I blinked. “Unfortunately… yeah,” I admitted, face heating up.

Then my brain short-circuited. “Wait. Wait wait wait—so this is on purpose?!”

Her smile widened. She didn’t say yes. She didn’t have to.

Behind her, Rivy let out a low whistle. She was still pouting from earlier, but now she was leaning on the wall one leg raised slightly like a model in a mana drink ad. Her hips cocked to the side just enough to draw attention to her thighs—bare, toned, and showing way more than necessary through her tight shorts.

“I mean… you kinda bring it on yourself,” she said, voice all sugar and teasing. “You’re fun to mess with.”

Gladia chimed in behind me. “We’re succubi,” she said like it explained everything. “Seduction is basically part of our passive skill tree.”

“More like passive-aggressive,” I muttered, already trying to subtly adjust my pants.

Val didn’t help either. She had this smug, battle-hardened confidence that somehow made her sports bra and open jacket look even hotter than Lilith’s dress. She casually stretched her arms above her head, her abs flexing as her jacket slid back enough to show the sharp lines of her waist.

“Just say you’re flustered,” she said with a smirk.

Evelyn, of course, looked unbothered. “You’re all acting like we don’t already know what effect we have on him.”

“Oh, trust me, I’m very aware,” I muttered, trying not to look directly at anyone anymore.

But then Lilith leaned close again, whispering near my ear, “We’re not doing it just to tease you, y’know…”

“Yeah?” I asked, voice embarrassingly strained.

She pulled back just enough for her lips to curve into that signature smug smile. “We also like seeing your reaction.”

I chuckled low under my breath.

Two could play that game.

I straightened up, smirked right back at them—sharp, cocky, and just a little evil—and said, “Well, just once, if I need you guys to take responsibility, you’ll do it, right?”

That got their attention.

The smiles faltered. The teasing in their eyes twitched into something else—something a little more serious.

I kept going, voice low and casual, but my smirk stretched wider, just to make sure they felt it.

“I hate people who only do things half-heartedly. If you’re gonna play around—” I let the words hang there, heavy and promising, “—then be ready to pay the price.”

I tilted my head slightly, giving them my best ‘you started this, don’t blame me’ look.

And then—

I reached out slowly, tracing my fingertip along Lilith’s neck, starting just below her jawline where her skin was smooth and faintly warm. She tensed—just slightly—as my touch glided down, following the line of her throat, slipping lower.

My finger reached her chest, dipping into the deep curve of her V-neck dress.

Just a blink.

Just enough to barely brush against her nipple—light as a feather, fleeting.

Her breath hitched.

Her body stiffened.

I didn’t break eye contact. Didn’t smile. Didn’t laugh. Just kept my gaze locked on hers—steady, calm, and absolutely daring.

Then, deliberately, I brought my finger back up and slowly, without rushing, licked the tip clean like it was nothing.

Casual. Sinful. Unapologetic.

Their faces?

Absolute chaos.

Rivy gasped, her cheeks lighting up red like someone had flipped a switch.

Val muttered something under her breath that sounded suspiciously like "holy shit."

Gladia froze, blinking like she couldn't believe her own eyes.

Even Evelyn’s composure cracked—just a tiny twitch of her lips, but it was there.

And Lilith?

Lilith’s lips parted slightly, her pupils dilating just a fraction.

She didn't move.

She didn’t flinch.

But the heat burning behind her red eyes screamed volumes.

“And,” I added, my tone light but sharp, “I hope you’re all prepared.”

Score.

Without waiting for their recovery, I turned on my heel and sauntered into my room like a victorious villain leaving the battlefield.

I closed the door behind me with a satisfying click.

Inside, my room was just the way I left it. Clean, quiet, and smelling faintly of mana polish and fresh paper. My bag was already on the desk—probably Evelyn’s doing—organized neatly with almost scary precision.

I let out a heavy breath and grinned to myself. “Well… guess that’ll make them think twice before teasing me again.”

Maybe.

Probably not.

Still worth it.

I plopped down onto my chair, rolled my shoulders to loosen the tension, and flipped open my laptop. The screen flickered to life, casting a soft blue glow across the room.

Alright. Focus mode.

No more teasing girls. No more chaos.

Time to hustle.

I needed money. I needed combat experience. And judging from the random demon attacks and awakening drama, I needed levels fast.

Sparring and training sessions clearly didn’t give me EXP.

But real combat?

Real missions?

That was the ticket.

And lucky for me, the academy had a public mission board—accessible online, naturally—where students could sign up for part-time jobs, bounty hunts, supply runs, monster exterminations, you name it. Anything to help the city, earn credits, and not-so-coincidentally strengthen yourself before the school year decided to kill you.

I clicked into the Mission Board portal.

[Welcome, Evan Drakos!]

[You are eligible to apply for the Academy Public Service Program.]

[Please fill out the registration form carefully.]

Simple enough.

I clicked Begin Registration.

And immediately regretted it.

The first page?

A full-on application essay form.

I squinted at the questions popping up on screen.

Mission Program Application: Scarlet Rose Estate Member — Evan Drakos

Question 1: Why do you want to join the mission program? (Minimum 200 words.)

I groaned. “Seriously? This isn’t a scholarship interview!”

Still, I cracked my knuckles and started typing.

[Because if I don’t, I’m probably going to die from low-level boredom, low-level poverty, or low-level combat power. Missions mean EXP. EXP means leveling. Leveling means surviving. Please consider this a mutually beneficial arrangement where I don’t die and you get free labor to raise the academy’s reputation. (Well, I know you still need to pay me, but that’s from the mission giver, right?)]

Professional. Classy. Honest.

Nailed it.

Question 2: What are your advantages compared to other applicants?

I frowned. “Advantages? Uh…”

I typed:

[Above-average regeneration, dark element affinity, cool personality, match with four houses and an absurdly high tolerance for bullshit.]

I hesitated, then I added.

[Also, can kick bullies in under five seconds.]

Just in case they cared about people skills.

Question 3: What is your combat specialization?

Now this was easier.

[Close-quarters combat. Magic reinforcement. Shadow blade conjuration. Mobility and mid-range crowd control spells. Potentially summoning later, depending on system upgrades.]

I stared at the blinking cursor for a second and tilted my head. “Too much?”

…Nah. Felt just right.

Question 4: Describe your ideal mission.

What was this, a dating app?

I typed fast.

[Anything that pays a lot, provides a real threat, and has a low chance of me getting lectured about ‘safety protocols’ afterward.]

“Cool.”

Question 5: What are your personal goals?

I leaned back, staring at the question.

Goals.

I mean… survival, obviously. Freedom. Maybe finding out more about this “sovereign awakening” nonsense before it crushed me.

But also… the image of earlier—Sera clinging to me, Lilith smirking, Rivy pouting, Evelyn watching quietly—it floated in the back of my mind.

I grinned to myself and typed.

[To get stronger. Protect the people important to me. And maybe one day… make the world regret ever trying to take me down.]

[Application Complete!]

[Review Time: 24 hours.]

[Please wait for approval.]

I slumped back in my chair, arms behind my head, staring at the ceiling with a half-smirk still stuck on my face.

Dinner was coming up soon.

More teasing was probably inevitable.

But right now?

Right now, I had a real chance to grow.

Not just stronger.

But unstoppable.

And for once, even with all the insanity swirling around me…

I felt ready for it.

Bring it on.
