Chapter 44. Boobsville

Succubi Chapter 44. Boobsville

I stayed beside her for another minute—just watching.

Sera's hair was a little messy from all the rolling and cling-hugging earlier, a few strands still draped across her cheek. Her breathing was soft and slow, barely audible beneath the thick layers of her comforter. She looked peaceful. Completely knocked out, like someone who hadn’t just revealed she could hack the city grid and detect battles by aura shifts.

And… cute.

Yeah. I’ll admit it.

She was a bit of a handful. A sleep-loving, plushie-hugging, sloth-mode magical prodigy who treated me like her personal mobility scooter. But she was also brilliant. Sweet. Comfortably unpredictable. And deep down, I think she enjoyed messing with me a little too much.

I exhaled quietly, brushing a bit of hair from her forehead. “See ya at dinner,” I whispered.

She didn’t respond, obviously. Probably halfway into some dream where firewalls taste like marshmallows and academy rules don’t exist.

I stood up and left her room quietly, closing the door behind me with a soft click.

The hallway outside was just as quiet as before. Velvet-soft carpet beneath my shoes. That ever-present floral scent still hung in the air—lavender and tea leaves, like the estate had its own enchanted perfume. I stretched my shoulders and made my way back toward my room.

And then—

“...What the hell,” I muttered under my breath.

There was a crowd outside my door.

Not a riot or anything. Just… them.

Gladia stood at the center, speaking to the others like she was giving a casual field report. Lilith, Val, Rivy, and Evelyn were all standing around her like an unofficial war council waiting to jump someone—which, judging by their faces, might’ve been me.

I approached slowly. “Uh… hey?”

All eyes turned.

Lilith crossed her arms, her expression sharp. “You were attacked by a demon?”

I blinked. “Oh. Uh. Yeah. That.”

“Half demon, actually,” I added quickly.

Lilith rolled her eyes. “Same thing.”

“Yeah,” I muttered. “Fair.”

Gladia tilted her head at me. “And you didn’t tell anyone?”

“I told you,” I said, pointing at her.

She raised an eyebrow. “Other than me?”

“I was going to,” I said quickly, holding up both hands like that’d somehow deflect the incoming storm of disapproval. “But, y’know, Sera was clinging to me like a koala, and Evelyn’s match was going on, and—”

I flashed my most innocent grin. “Honestly, the match was more exciting.”

They were not amused.

Val huffed, flipping her ponytail. “Anyway. He survived. Demon’s dead. So what’s the problem?”

Rivy, arms folded, shot her a look. “'Not being a problem' is usually a problem.”

Evelyn’s voice came in calmer, more thoughtful. “I hope not. I mean… What could be the problem?”

Lilith, of course, had the answer. She narrowed her eyes at me and said, “His awakening.”

Everyone went silent.

I felt my stomach sink a little. “...My what now?”

Gladia spoke up, voice surprisingly gentle. “I’ve heard about it too. If a sovereign awakens—even a partial one—the royal demons can feel it. Across dimensions, even.”

I cringed, shoulders tensing. “Okay, is that, like… really bad news for me?”

They all nodded. In unison.

“...Great,” I muttered.

Lilith added with a shrug, “It shouldn’t be that bad. I mean… you’re from a different realm. Your power isn’t as overwhelming as a pure-blood sovereign yet.”

“Yeah,” Val chimed in. “You’re basically a sovereign on training wheels.”

“Training wheels that murdered a half-demon,” Rivy said, eyebrow raised.

“Okay, but still,” Lilith continued, tapping a finger on her hip. “I think your power isn’t fully awake yet. I felt something shift during the last two days—but it’s faint.”

Gladia nodded. “It’s unstable. Like it’s trying to activate, but still hesitating.”

I stared at the floor for a moment, thoughts spinning. This was supposed to be just another day. Carry a sleepy genius, dodge the Ares drama, watch a few duels. And now? Apparently I might’ve just pinged some supernatural radar and triggered an interdimensional “Awakened Demon Prince Alert” like I was a walking threat level.

“...So,” I said slowly, “what does that mean for me?”

Evelyn spoke up this time, tone flat. “It means someone else might come.”

Rivy nodded. “More demons. Stronger ones. Maybe even hunters from your side.”

I blinked. “Hunters?”

Gladia tapped her chin. “If your awakening hit the system hard enough, it might not just be demons. Divine enforcement squads, rogue exorcists, anyone watching for power spikes like yours—they’ll start sniffing around.”

Val crossed her arms and muttered, “So… basically, you stepped on a magical landmine.”

“Cool,” I said. “So glad I didn’t tell anyone right away.”

Lilith stared at me. “And you still grinned like it was nothing.”

“I was deflecting,” I said defensively.

“You deflect like a toddler with a paintbrush,” Rivy muttered.

“I did kill the demon, didn’t I?”

“That’s not the point,” Evelyn said. “You’re strong. We know that. But we also know you're… different.”

I looked at them. All of them. They weren’t yelling. They weren’t accusing me of hiding things.

They were… worried.

Actually worried.

“I didn’t mean to keep it a secret,” I said quietly. “I just… didn’t want you all to panic. You’ve got enough on your plates already.”

“Idiot,” Rivy said, frowning—but she stepped closer. Her hips swayed in that unintentional succubus way, hands landing on them like she was about to give me a full-on lecture. “We’re already with you. That includes the panic too.”

She leaned in while pouting, lips pursed and eyes narrowing—and yeah, her top dipped dangerously low. The cut of her tank didn’t even try to hide her cleavage. And I swear the bounce was extra when she moved.

Was it on purpose? Probably not.

Was it working? Oh hell yes.

My brain was glitching. My pants were not okay.

She kept going like she didn’t just awaken the Lust debuff on me.

“You think we’d leave you alone after a demon attack? Huh? What if he was stronger? What if he hurt you? You big dumb anomaly—”

I had to look away just to stay sane.

“And the fights,” Val said, stepping up on my other side, arms crossed—but her crop top lifted just slightly as she did. Her abs were flexed, sharp, and very, very distracting.

Great. Now I was sandwiched between combat-grade seduction.

“And the potential existential dread,” Lilith chimed in, casually sliding closer with her usual smirk. One hand twirled her hair, the other resting on her thigh in a way that made her leg slit show just a bit more skin. It was casual. Effortless. Dangerous.

Gladia smiled softly, standing behind Rivy. “And maybe even your awkward emotional denial,” she added with a tilt of her head—her oversized t-shirt falling off one shoulder, revealing a lacy bra strap underneath.

Why. Just why.

This wasn’t a team talk. This was a sensory overload.

Even Evelyn—stoic, tactical Evelyn—gave me a side glance that lingered longer than usual. “You are terrible at asking for help,” she said flatly, brushing her bangs back, the light catching her eyes just enough to make her look almost ethereal.

I sighed and rubbed my face, trying to think about anything other than the fact that my lower half was begging for a cool-down.

“Okay, okay. I get it,” I muttered. “From now on, full disclosure. Demon attacks, power spikes, mysterious awakening crap, all of it.”

Lilith stepped forward, her smirk softening into something almost affectionate. “Good. Because if anything happens, we’ll deal with it.”

“Even if it means dragging your sorry ass through another portal,” Val said with a grin, cracking her knuckles.

“Or smacking you with a baguette,” Gladia added cheerfully, hugging said baguette to her chest like a body pillow. Yeah, I was trying very hard not to imagine myself as that baguette.

They all stared at me. Every one of them—dangerous, deadly, and somehow making my survival situation feel like a very weird harem visual novel.

I exhaled slowly, internally begging for my stats to stop fluctuating.

“Damn,” I muttered under my breath. “You guys are intense.”

Lilith stepped closer.

Too close.

Before I could process it, she reached out and clamped my chin between her fingers, tilting my face toward hers with slow, calculated grace. Her nails were sharp, her touch was soft, and her presence? Overwhelming.

“You still haven’t answered us,” she said, voice silky and slow. “Properly.”

I tried to look at her. I really tried.

But it was hard—literally and figuratively—because that dress she wore? Deep V-neck. Black silk. Hugging every curve like it was enchanted. Her cleavage was basically its own gravitational field at that point.

I knew I was supposed to be looking at her face. I wanted to look at her face. But my eyes? Yeah, they took the scenic route. Straight to Boobsville.
