Chapter 15. The Dorm of Succubi

Succubi Chapter 15. The Dorm of Succubi

The heat in my chest was getting unbearable. I pushed open my door, stepping out into the dimly lit hallway, my breath ragged as I tried to steady myself. It was past midnight, and most of the estate had gone dark, save for a few soft, golden lights still flickering from the chandeliers. I had no idea if there would even be staff in the main building at this hour, but that didn’t matter. I needed to report this.

Something was wrong.

I took a few hurried steps, my body feeling off-balance, the strange heat pulsing deeper into my core. And then— I stopped.

Because something felt off.

I didn’t know why or how. But I could feel it. Something was watching me. I turned around, scanning the hallway.

Nothing.

No movement. No sound. Just the soft, eerie silence of the night.

I frowned. ‘Okay…’ Maybe I was just being paranoid. I turned back— And the feeling got stronger. I spun around again, eyes sharp. Still nothing. But my instincts were screaming at me. Someone was there.

Hiding. Watching. Waiting.

Evelyn?

She was an assassin, right? If anyone could stalk me without getting caught, it was her.

Or maybe…

Rivy?

She was weird as hell. Wouldn’t surprise me if she got a kick out of sneaking around at night. But then again…

Lilith?

She was always watching me, always teasing me, always acting like she knew something I didn’t.

Or maybe— Gladia.

She did say she’d give me food at midnight. Was she lurking around, waiting for me to knock on her door like some starving idiot?

But then there was Valeria.

The way she looked at me during dinner—like she was studying me, analyzing me— And then there was what she said.

“I love collecting rare things.”

I shuddered.

Too many suspects.

Or…

Maybe it wasn’t any of them. Maybe it was a burglar.

Yeah. A really, really dumb burglar who thought breaking into a dorm full of trained combatants was a good idea. But if that were the case, then they were about to have a very bad night.

I walked again, but this time, I sharpened my senses. My muscles tensed, ready. Whoever was out there? I was going to catch them. I play to win—not to lose.

I rounded a corner, stepping into the main hallway, my eyes scanning every shadow, every flickering light. And then— I felt it again. This time, closer. I turned fast and nothing.

Still.

Empty.

Silent.

I narrowed my eyes.

Time to force their hand!

I let out a sigh, rubbing my temples, making it seem like I was letting my guard down.

Then I muttered, loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. "If someone’s gonna kill me, at least make it quick. I hate suspense." The air shifted. It was subtle. A barely-there movement. But I caught it. And then, I lunged.

My body moved on instinct, spinning, reaching and my hand grabbed something.

Something soft and warm.

I smirked. ‘Gotcha!’

My fingers gripped tightly around the soft, warm shape I had caught, expecting to feel an arm or maybe even fabric.

But this— This was different.

It wasn’t firm… or a wrist. It was soft. Plump. And—Warm. Way too warm for just skin. It had a nice roundness to it, filling my hand perfectly—like a ripe melon. And at the very top, a small, stiff peak pressed against my palm.

‘Wait. Wait. Wait!’

My brain caught up. My face went pale.

‘Oh…’

‘Oh shit!’

"Ah~" The softest, sweetest moan I had ever heard escaped into the quiet night.

My entire body tensed. That sound. That damn sound! It was a moan!

A real, breathy, shiver-inducing moan.

I swallowed hard. ‘What. The. Fuck?!’

And then, a voice came.

Breathy…

Low...

Dripping with something dangerously teasing…

"Evan, you’re too forceful."

The light flickered on.

I blinked against the sudden brightness. And then, as my vision adjusted, I saw her.

Lilith.

And my jaw dropped. Because right there! Right in my hand. I was still gripping her breast. Bare, soft and very clearly uncovered. My fingers were pressing against her hardened nipple. No fabric. No bra. Nothing.

I let go so fast you’d think I had just grabbed a live wire. "SORRY!" I shouted, stumbling back.

Lilith chuckled softly, her lips still parted as if still feeling the aftershocks of what just happened.

And her face flushed. Red-tinted cheeks, her lips wet and slightly parted, her breathing a little uneven. She wasn’t mad. In fact, she looked entertained. And that scared me more than if she had slapped me.

But that wasn’t even the worst part. Because as I took a panicked step back, that’s when I finally saw it.

The problem. Not her expression. Not her flushed face. Not even the fact that I had just full-on grabbed her chest. It was…

The horns. The small, curved horns rested just above her perfectly styled hair.

The tail. A thin, sleek tail swayed behind her, flicking in amusement.

The wings. A pair of dark, leathery bat-like wings folded neatly against her back.

My breath caught. She wasn’t human. And she wasn’t even trying to hide it anymore. “You are a demon…”

Lilith smiled knowingly, her eyes practically glowing. "Oh?" she murmured, tilting her head. "You finally noticed?"

I felt my stomach drop. But before I could even say anything, more voices came.

"Wait—what?!"

"Not fair! It should’ve been me!"

"Dammit, Lilith! You play dirty again!"

I whipped around, my eyes widening. Because one by one, they started appearing.

First Evelyn—who had somehow moved without a single sound, her arms crossed, her expression completely unreadable. Her usual cold stare wasn’t on me, though. It was locked onto Lilith. "I see you got there first," she said, her voice flat.

Then, from the opposite side, Rivy. She looked pissed. "Ugh. Of course," she groaned, her eyes narrowed at Lilith. "I swear, you pull this kind of stunt every time."

Then came Gladia. She looked—surprisingly unfazed. "Should’ve guessed," she muttered, still snacking on something, completely unbothered.

Next was Sera, who let out a long, tired sigh before muttering, "Tch. What a waste."

And then, Valeria. Her eyes practically glowed, her lips curled into an irritated smirk. "He is mine."

One by one, they stood there.

And the worst part?

Every single one of them had the same traits. Horns. Tails. Wings.

It wasn’t just Lilith. It was all of them!

I staggered back. "You’ve GOT to be kidding me!" I blurted out, eyes darting between them.

Lilith chuckled. Her wings twitched slightly, her tail flicking behind her like she was amused by my reaction. "Ah, you look so surprised~" she teased, running a hand through her hair. "You’re living in a dorm full of succubi, Evan."

I choked. "EXCUSE ME?!"

All of them smiled. Some smug. Some teasing. Some were just waiting to see how I’d react.

Lilith took a step forward, eyes glimmering. I could see her breasts bouncing every time she moved. "And," she purred, "I’d say you fit in just perfectly."

I swallowed hard. I wanted to speak. I really did… But my brain? Completely short-circuited. My mouth opened—then closed. Then opened again—then closed.

Because what the hell was I even supposed to say?!

"Hey, so, uh… you guys are all succubi? Cool, cool, yeah, that totally explains everything. I am definitely not having a crisis right now."

Nope. Not happening.

Meanwhile, Sera moved. And when I say moved— I mean she teleported. One second, she was standing in the doorway, looking as uninterested as ever. The next? She was right in front of me. No sound. No warning. Just poof—there.

I nearly jumped out of my skin.

Her eyes studied me, tilting her head slightly. "Why do you look surprised, Anomaly?"

I tensed.

That name again.

She leaned in slightly, her sharp gaze piercing through me like she was trying to read my soul. "You are one of us, right?" she asked. "Don’t tell me…" Her voice trailed off for a moment, then her lips curled into something between amusement and curiosity. "…You don’t know that?"

One of them?

What the hell did that mean?!

Before I could even respond— Gladia appeared. Because of course, she teleported too. Suddenly, she was right at my side, leaning in close. She sniffed me. Like, actually sniffed me.

I froze. "Uh…" I was officially out of my depth.

Gladia hummed, her emerald eyes narrowing slightly. "Hmm… his demon scent is still mild," she muttered. Then she leaned in closer—way too close—and took another slow, deep inhale.

My eye twitched. "Okay—first off—what the hell are you doing?"

She ignored me. "But it’s getting stronger," she mused. "Maybe he just awakened."

Awakened?

What the hell did that mean?!

Then Rivy, who had been watching this whole thing with an amused smirk, chimed in. "So this is his 19th birthday, huh?" she asked, arms crossed.

Sera nodded. "Should be."

I immediately snapped back to reality. "Wait—WHAT?!" I waved my hands, still trying to process literally everything happening right now. "This isn’t my birthday!" I shot back. "I turned 18 like six months ago!" Well, I wasn’t sure it was my real birthday since I was adopted.

I felt all of their eyes on me. A heavy silence settled over the room.

And then, Lilith laughed. Like. Actually laughed. A low, sultry chuckle that sent another wave of heat right to my chest.

The worst part?

It didn’t help.

Despite everything that just happened, the warmth in my chest didn’t go away. It only got worse. Like something inside me was burning.

Slow.

But relentless.

Lilith’s eyes glimmered. "Oh, Evan," she sighed, brushing her fingers through her hair. "You sweet, clueless thing."

I felt something cold grip my spine.

She took a step forward.

I took one back.

She took another.

I backed up again.

This continued until my back hit the wall.

‘Shit!’

She leaned in. Not enough to touch me, but close enough to feel her heat. Close enough to feel her presence. I couldn’t move or breathe.

"Are you really sure about that?" A slow smirk curved her lips. "Because your body says otherwise."

I stiffened. Every part of me tensed. Because she was right.

That burning in my chest? It wasn’t stopping! It was getting worse!

Like something was coiling deep inside me. Something foreign. Something hungry. And the worst part? I didn’t know if I wanted it to stop.

Lilith tilted her head, studying me. "You’re heating up, aren’t you?"

I swallowed. Hard. "Wh—what the hell is happening to me?" I managed.

Gladia hummed. "Typical awakening symptoms."

Sera nodded. "The heat. The confusion. The sudden attraction."

I jerked. "The what?"

Lilith’s grin widened. "Oh, sweetie," she purred. "You’re finally waking up. And trust me—" She leaned in just a little more. "It’s going to get a lot worse."

I was losing my goddamn mind. But before I could even freak out properly— Valeria stepped forward. Her arms crossed, expression cool. "We need to confirm it," she said.

"Confirm what?" I snapped, losing my patience.

"That you really are one of us," she said simply.

Rivy clicked her tongue. "Shouldn’t be hard. If his transformation starts, he won’t be able to resist soon."

My stomach flipped. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"

Lilith’s tail flicked. "Oh, you’ll see."

And just like that, I realized something.

Something horrifying.

The heat in my chest?

It was spreading.

Fast.

Too fast.

It pulsed through my veins, like a slow-burning wildfire. Like something was trying to claw its way out. And worst of all… I had no idea how to stop it. I stumbled forward, panting. My knees shook.

Lilith stepped closer, her voice softer now. "Just relax, Evan." Her fingers grazed my jaw. "Let it happen."

I jerked away. My chest tightened. The pain hit. Fast. Hard. Like my entire body was being set on fire. I gasped.

"Welcome to your real birthday, Evan,” Lilith congratulated me.
