Chapter 14. [Royal Bloodline Confirmed!]

Succubi Chapter 14. [Royal Bloodline Confirmed!]

I exhaled slowly, leaning back in my chair.

This was… a lot.

Not just the introductions, but the vibe.

The energy in this room was so weirdly powerful that I felt like I had just stepped into a den of apex predators who were all casually deciding whether I was prey or not.

And I still wasn’t sure if I was supposed to be relieved or terrified.

I cleared my throat. "Uh, so… any house rules?"

Lilith raised an eyebrow. "Rules?"

"Yeah," I said, gesturing vaguely. "I mean… I’m the only guy here."

I glanced around at the six girls sitting at the table.

"I just don’t want any misunderstandings."

Lilith chuckled softly. "Fair enough."

She clasped her hands together and started listing off some basic dorm rules. She raised a finger. "First—curfew is at midnight. It’s not too strict, but it’s necessary." Lilith continued. "Second—no unauthorized guests inside the dorm. You can invite people, but they need to be approved first," she clarified. "And no sneaking anyone in."

"Noted," I muttered.

She held up a third finger. "Third—common spaces must be kept clean. That includes the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and study areas. And finally—use the shared facilities responsibly. It means don’t break anything, don’t hog the bathrooms, and if you borrow something, put it back."

"Ah. So just basic human decency?"

"Exactly."

Honestly?

Pretty normal stuff.

Nothing like, “Hey, Evan, don’t accidentally walk into a death trap” or “Don’t go into the basement unless you have a death wish.”

Which was good.

Lilith finished with a smooth smile. "That’s about it."

I blinked. "That’s it?"

She nodded. "You don’t get any special rules just because you’re a male student here."

I relaxed slightly. "Alright. Good to know."

Then, Gladia spoke up.

"But I guess…" she muttered, tapping her fingers against the table.

I glanced at her. "Huh?"

She tilted her head slightly, looking thoughtful. "Maybe you should lock your door when you sleep," she said casually. "And avoid walking around the dorm in the middle of the night."

I paused.

Okay.

That sounded suspicious as hell.

My eyebrow twitched. "Uh. Why?"

Lilith sighed immediately. "Gladia, don’t scare the new students."

Gladia chuckled. "I’m not scaring him. I’m just saying."

I squinted at her. "There is a ghost here?"

Lilith shrugged. "Nope. Nothing like that."

Then, with a lazy smile, Gladia spoke again. "But if you do come to my room past midnight, I’ll give you more food."

I blinked. "…Huh?"

She grinned. "Just saying."

I couldn’t tell if this was a trap or not.

Sera finally spoke. "Well," she muttered, stretching slightly. "I guess Anomaly doesn’t need to worry about that. He is ‘one of us’ after all."

My eye twitched. "Evan," I corrected immediately.

Sera ignored me.

Rivy, who had been quiet for a while, turned to her. "He is?" she asked.

Sera nodded. "Yeah. Don’t worry about it."

Lilith sighed, shaking her head. "That explains everything." She looked at me, smiling softly. "Here I was thinking I was just getting old and missing something," she mused. "But it turns out he’s indeed an anomaly."

I cringed. "Guys, can we stop calling me ‘Anomaly’?"

Valeria spoke up. "So," she murmured, sipping from her glass. "He’s non-collectible?"

I froze.

What the hell did that mean?

Sera, still looking completely uninterested, shook her head. "No."

Valeria sighed dramatically, looking genuinely disappointed. "Shame," she muttered.

I stared at her.

WHAT WAS SHE COLLECTING? More importantly—WHY WAS I ALMOST ONE OF THEM?

Valeria smiled at me. "But I still have hope."

I forced a laugh. "Haha… cool. That’s… great."

Lilith clapped her hands together twice, bringing the conversation back to reality. "Alright, we’ll stop here," she said smoothly.

She smiled at me, too amused for my liking. "Let’s have some mercy on Evan, shall we?" She looked around at the rest of the girls. "He looks confused enough already."

I exhaled sharply. She was not wrong. There was definitely something weird going on in this house. Maybe it was just the way they all talked, or maybe it was the fact that every single one of them treated me like some kind of rare artifact. Or maybe it was just Valeria saying she still hoped to “collect” me.

Yeah.

That was still haunting me.

Either way, I kept my mouth shut as the conversation ended, and instead, I focused on cleaning up the dishes. It wasn’t much—just gathering plates, stacking them neatly, and putting them in the dishwasher.

Simple.

Yet somehow, Lilith was watching me the whole time.

When I finished, I turned to her, wiping my hands off.

"All done," I muttered.

Lilith’s lips curled into a soft smile. "Thank you."

I waved a hand dismissively. "Not a big deal."

Then, before I could even react, she stepped forward and pulled me into a hug.

I froze.

Her arms were warm, and the scent of her soft vanilla perfume immediately filled my nose. And yeah, I was definitely surprised.

"Welcome to the family, Evan," she murmured.

Then, just as quickly, she let go.

I took a half step back, blinking. "Uh. Thanks…?"

She chuckled softly, her eyes still unreadable.

"You should go back to your room and rest," she said.

I nodded slowly. "Yeah… good idea."

I turned around, heading toward the hallway.

But yeah.

That feeling didn’t go away.

The feeling that they were hiding something.

Back in my room, I grabbed my bath essentials and made my way toward the bathrooms.

The dorm had two type of bathrooms—one with a shower, and the other with a bathtub.

And honestly?

I wasn’t in the mood to soak in a damn bathtub.

So I kept it simple, heading straight for the shower.

Luckily, there was no one inside.

I locked the door behind me, turned on the water, and let the warm stream hit my skin.

The day had been long as hell, and this was exactly what I needed.

For a few minutes, I just stood there, letting the heat soak into my muscles.

Once I was done, I dried off quickly and threw on some fresh clothes before heading back to my room.

I locked the door behind me, collapsing onto my bed.

Finally.

Sleep.

I didn’t even have the energy to think anymore.

My body sank into the mattress, and within seconds, I was out.

And it was nice.

Until it wasn’t.

Because at some point in the night— I woke up.

And I felt it immediately.

A weird, burning heat in my chest.

I blinked groggily, my mind still half-asleep.

The room was dark, the only light coming from the faint glow of the digital clock on my desk.

It was past midnight.

I frowned, shifting under my blanket.

"Why the hell is it so hot in here…?" I muttered.

I threw off the blanket, rubbing my chest.

The heat wasn’t normal.

It wasn’t like a fever—it was deep inside me.

Almost like it was coming from— Inside my core.

My breathing hitched slightly.

What the hell was this?

I sat up, my chest burning with an unfamiliar heat. It wasn’t like a fever, wasn’t like exhaustion, wasn’t like anything normal.

[DING!]

My system suddenly flickered to life.

And what I saw?

Made my stomach drop.

[Royal Bloodline Confirmed!]

[Class: Demon Sovereign]

[Rank: Crown Prince of Hell]

[System Integration: 100%]

I froze.

Crown Prince of what now?!

Before I could even process that nightmare of a notification, more alerts started flooding in.

Demon Lord’s Instinct – Unchained Pride: The overwhelming aura of a sovereign being. Enhances combat abilities and can invoke absolute dominance over lower-ranking demons and creatures.

I stared at the system screen, completely dumbfounded.

My heart pounded. My breath felt uneven.

This had to be a joke, right?!

I reached up and pinched myself.

Hard.

Pain shot through my arm.

Okay. Not a dream.

"…What the actual hell?" I muttered.

I stared at the words ‘Crown Prince of Hell’ on my screen, my stomach churning.

This had to be some kind of system error. Right? Right?!

I needed to report this. Immediately. I scrambled out of bed, grabbed my phone, and practically sprinted toward the door.

But the moment my hand touched the doorknob, I hesitated.

Wait.

What the hell was I even going to say?

"Hey, sorry to bother you, but I think my system thinks I’m the heir of Hell. Can you guys fix that?"

Yeah. That wasn’t gonna work.

Would they even believe me?

I mean—who the hell had a ‘Crown Prince of Hell’ class?! I exhaled sharply, rubbing my forehead.

Okay. Okay. Think!

What was the logical thing to do?

I glanced at my phone, then at the time.

2:13 AM.

Right.

Not exactly the best time to start screaming about demonic awakenings.

I sighed and sat back down on my bed, running a hand through my hair.

Maybe… maybe I should test it first.

See if this was just some glitch. I pulled up my skills menu, staring at the new list.

Alright. Let’s try.

“Dark Healing.”

I took a deep breath and focused.

Instantly, a cold surge of energy ran through my body. My hands glowed with a dim black aura, swirling like smoke. I stared at it, wide-eyed.

Okay.

That was not normal.

I clenched my fist, and the energy vanished instantly.

Holy shit.

That wasn’t just some random system error. This was real.

I gulped.

If this was real… Then so was everything else.

I rubbed my temples, my mind racing.

What the hell did this mean for me?

I was still human… right? Right?

I exhaled, looking at the nearest mirror.

They looked normal. The same half messy black hair, same height, same red eyes, same face. Although… somehow I looked more handsome than usual. Like the upgraded version of me, like I suddenly got a one night glow up.

‘Does my face always look like that?’ I thought, frowning.

The most important thing was I didn’t have claws. Didn’t have any horns. No wings. No demonic flames consuming my soul. So why did it feel like something inside me was just waiting— Waiting for me to stop denying it.

I shuddered. ‘Nope. Nope!’

Not dealing with this right now.

I needed answers.

And the only place I could get them?

The Academy.
