Chapter 205: Clash of Armies Part 4

At that moment, all of the great, city destroying powers of the two armies have started to move, with only the absence of the second hero of Apolaki and Bakunawa of Kamatayan as the strange occurrence, and at that moment, when the strongest soldier present in the side of Mayari, Kampilan moved out, the generals of Apolaki split up and ran towards the backside of Kampilan, making her unable to see the generals, there are six in total, they have in them were one item each, one has two rims of bond paper, some are in a plastic container while some are flying around him, one has a spear that glows purple, another has a bracelet with a "jade" designed as a shield, this group didn't bothered looking at their soldiers and immediately thrusted towards Aoi.

Aoi sensed them, however, the hero of endless thoughts seem to not even notice their existence, she furrowed her eyebrows in her main eyes and as she did, rainbow colored aurora seeped out of all the slits in her body that represents her numerous eyes, and slowly, as if the eyes are struggling to maintain their control of their immense power, forcibly opened themselves, and as they did, a dome of rainbow colored aurora surged, encompassing the whole front and flanks of Aoi, all of the soldiers present, of course, except the ones chosen by Aoi halted all of their bodily function, they will remain like this for a second, causing the green haired Kampilan to do whatever she wants with the enemy.

_Tsk... that's really strong!_

Kampilan can' help but curse, making the dimming light of hope of an independent future within her heart disappear, though one can only wonder what would happen if Aoi can order about a fourth of the total number of the enemy side that counts to about 500 thousand or a little bit more to kill themselves but choose not to so that the daughter of the emperor will be able to retain her face.

Anyway, Kampilan doesn't know of this nor have the time to mull about such thought exercise, she just charged her weapon familiar with mana, causing the green, or rather, forest motif kampilan of hers to glow bright green, her charge time was the same as the time when the daze state of the soldiers have ended, causing them to snap back to reality and ready themselves with their weapon familiars to intercept the effect of the green light that they are so familiar with, though, somehow, their hands seem to become a little bit heavy, though of course, there was no time to think about that for the kampilan of Kampilan was finally swung down, causing a giant wind blade to dash down the enemy.

_Oh?_

All of Aoi's eyes widened as well as the soldiers besides her that she forbade to move any further, for the moment the giant, 10 meter, green projectile landed, there was no explosion, instead, a slight tremor was felt, and from the ground suddenly erupted a tree, it did not grew in a time lapsed manner, it exploded upwards as a full blow tree, slowly expanding it's branches that sported large leaves as well as cathedral bell sized fruits whilst it's roots pulsated with nutrients, causing the land in all of the battlefield of the main army to dry up in a fast pace, in the main trunk were 1 inch think vines that seem to whip themselves on their own.

Aoi and the soldiers at her back can't help but marvel at this, they remembered the explained ability of Kampilan's kampilan called [Forest], such a creative name.

It has a very simple ability called "Seed Injection 1" and "Seed Injection 2", seed injection 1 injects a seed in any living beings touched by the blade and make the seed rapidly syphon the life force of the victim until the victim transforms into a quickly withering grass, plan or tree depending on the strength of the life force of the target, this is the base ability and doesn't have any cool down, unlike seed injection 2 (another creative name), the one that was showcased earlier that has 24 hours cool down, meaning in this war, Kampilan draws first blood with her strongest attack.

Aoi marveled at the potential of such a weapon familiar and its wielder who is already, in the standardized measurement of competence of the Numbers continent a rank-A Familiares, however, she was also disappointed for the weapon familiar [Forest] is too stiff for a nature based ability, the reason for such is that because of the constant deployment in wars of Kampilan, she doesn't have the time to experiment with her abilities, so all she can do is to hack people down and turn them into trees, in theory, Aoi perceived the possibility of Kampilan being able to control those transformed trees, making her stand shoulder to shoulder with at least herself, Aoi Tawalisi and at most, Urduja.

But alas, continued war made her an incomplete calamity-level soldier.

The soldiers inside the shed of the giant, yet quickly wilting trees immediately activated their weapon familiars, and at the same time, as if a last spurt of liveliness, the fruits of the tree started to bloat into sickening, uneven parts as if the smallest stimulation can make them explode, creating catastrophic consequences and not only that, the gargantuan, seemingly endless veins in the trunk of the tree sprang up to life, they then started to "look around", causing the soldiers that are all too familiar with the meaning of this maneuver to shudder.

"Block it!"

One of the generals who are outside of the range of the Seed Injection 2 shouted, but he doesn't need to shout as such, for unconventional, strange objects like carpet, lamps, microphones, and cigarettes among multitude of other objects normally not fit on a war were immediately produced in the hands of the soldiers who are of course, all Familiares, in the military of the two empires, grade-d Familiares is the basic rank and grade-c is an official rank and grade-b-a are the generals, this is the backbone of structure in the body called Mayari and Apolaki.

The "snake vines" finally was able to lock in on their target, and as if rifles, they shoot themselves towards the head of the soldiers, they whipped and stabbed and slashed, yet the vines were either eroded by smokes that comes from the plumes of cigarettes, or was left to the 4th dimension to rot using a portal that came from rubbing a kettle-shaped lamp, or was agilely dodged by a man in an Indian sit flying around using a carpet, either way, the soldiers, except for some thousand or two of unlucky ones successfully defended against the first wave of mass murder of the giant tree that is now has its leaves starting to fall with brown, crumpled hue.

_We survived the first wave!_

Such were the thoughts of the soldiers as they prepared for the second wave which will come from the bell-sized fruits of the tree that has now shed all of its leaves and started to bow down back to earth, surely, they are guaranteed a successful defense, even the generals think so of that, that's why they were caught off guard when Aoi once again created an all-encompassing dome of rainbow aurora, even the generals that are meant to target the hero of endless thoughts can't activate the magic circle of Loki in their skin and the shield of the bracelet weapon familiar wielder that's responsible for defense, because of this they received two orders from Aoi.

Rip off the part of your skin that has mind control negating powers.

Deactivate your weapon familiars.

The first command stemmed from the fact that the enemies just got dazed at her first attempt, that, even without being able to be seen with her ever so calm demeanor, backfired to Aoi, and with the existence of Loki at the enemy side, she presumed that they have a magic circle that can counter her, but of course, only to some degree, the only counter to Aoi is if every single one of the men and women around her have the same brain capacity as Sophia and Loki, but still, she have exerted effort to make sure that these two commands won't be interfered with.

Causing her gas to get depleted, making her pant heavily.

This is Aoi's weakness, for an average hero, she have a low mana count and is just compensating with her very good mana control that's why she can only influence a 4th of the whole army of the enemy to kill themselves, unfortunately, this signature feat of hers is vetoed by the commander Sophia, so she can't show off for the fear factor and can only assist to the exploding of the corrosive seeds of the fruits of the trees that she and the generals in front of her is watching right now.

Aoi exhaled a deep breath while slowly making half of her eyes all over her body close up, lest she wanted to drain herself further, she then, for the first time in a very long while smiled at her future opponents, and as she did chunks of boulder coated with rainbow colored aurora floated besides, in front and at her back, she then, using her three facial eyes looked at her assailants who have restarted their assault in anger.

"Is this enough of a handicap?"

Aoi looked at the soldiers at her back who are amazed of her powers and then pointed her index finger at the now chlorified side of the battlefield, before flying up and throwing the giant boulders she has been controlling to her assailants and using her rainbow aurora to fly up in the sky, the three generals, seeing that the enemy army are ready to use the human ocean tactic to them and not confident that they can slaughter raged monsters with coordinated attacks, the bond paper Familiares immediately used a whole rim of paper and created an origami giant, a patched swan and made it take off to the sky while making the tree of them ride.

"You will go down!"

The three generals shouted, but Aoi remained smiling as she once again dragged boulders upwards.

It has been a long time since she went and indulged herself in a good fight.

_And it has to be an order by a foreign queen._

__________

The moment the orders to attack the enemy had been given, the monsters of Kamatayan didn't need to hear or see more; they ran, madly, yet with discipline towards their destined enemy.

"For the Lady, one last time!"

They shouted, causing the humans at their back to be startled and for Sisa, who had been looking from the 4th dimension, to finally move out to pick out every single soldier that could harm the generals and the living of her lover, Sophia Demiurge.

The monsters soon arrived at the still disarrayed enemies, and without hesitation waved their weapons, charged using their wolves or goats and release volleys fireballs and arrows as well as some rifle shots from a net formation, they didn't care of the numbers, they didn't care of the abilities and most of all, they didn't care of the motives of their enemies, they just know one thing.

This is their last chance to fulfill their mission, the first time they have signed up as subordinates of Sophia, to live for her and die if she so desires.

And live, their lady wants, and for that, they will do their best to live, for death is the greatest disgrace and can't be offered to their great master, and something unacceptable for a farewell offering.

The only acceptable outcome is the enemy's death; that is their only plausible offering for their Lady, one last time.

___________

Seeing the vigor of their counterparts in the other nation, the soldiers of Mayari who had been hesitating due to their uncertain future felt ashamed.

It's like this bucket of water that, instead of giving them the cold shoulder, revitalized their psyche.

So what if the empire is coming to an end?

So what if we don't have a choice but to be logical and bend to the crushing weight of the will of the hero of the sun?

Can't we indulge ourselves one last time? Can't we serve the man who gave us the chance to be recognized by the Land teeming with disasters?

"For the emperor!"

One of the generals of Mayari shouted, and as he did, all of the humans that remained, alongside the children and soldiers of Sophia, charged, their minds filled with only charging towards the enemy, in disregard of their strange and varied weapon familiar techniques.

Thus, the fight for the Empire of Apolaki has officially started.

___________

"Hmm... so it already started, huh..."

In the walls of the main stronghold that's considered the point of contact between the arms dealing of Apolaki and Valentine, but is now being used as the transport point of soldiers in the most western part of the Apolaki borders, a man of short stature is cradling a well folded flame red wing cape with feathered design as a motif, he have a messy, full orange hair that will either be pleasantly radiant or annoyingly bright to the onlookers.

He is the second hero of the Apolaki Empire, the wielder of the weapon familiar [Adarna], the sun-eating eagle, Minokawa, and this man, the moment he muttered such a sentence, heard a light tapping sound to his right that he immediately turned his head into.

"Sure it did... the fight to destroy the support points of Apolaki to Valentine is also underway, too."

Smiling, the silver-haired lady, an inch or two shorter than Minokawa, replied to the self-mulling of the orange-haired boy.
