Chapter 206: Clash of Powerhouses

... You are?"

The man of short stature, Minokawa, squinted his eyes, despite his seemingly perpetually stiff face, making such a subtle reaction. His alarm bells went off full blast throughout his body.

As a hero that was failed to be groomed into the killer of Urduja, much like how Kampilan was a failed calamity level specimen, he was groomed to be able to perceive even the minute change in the fluctuations of the air, mana and even the rustles of the hair of an opponent, however, this woman in front of him didn't even stirred a single dust in the air surrounding the part of the wall he was in.

_This woman is strong._

Such was his conclusion, but of course, Bakunawa, the woman who surprised even the stoic Minokawa, doesn't know such a nuance, or rather, her ceiling of comparison of "strong" is not as high as the man before her.

"Bakunawa, how about you?"

Bakunawa looked at the horizon that has a giant, yet wilted tree on it, alongside such a sight is the faint bellows of the soldiers that can only be heard with the acute hearing of the two people present in the walls of the Apolaki city, the two little monsters that are seemingly not aware that a fight is bound to happen the moment their eyes have crossed their gazes with one another.

"I am... Minokawa... we have... quite the rhyming name, don't you think?"

Minokawa answered whilst he gripped the weapon familiar in his hands tightly, ready to throw it upwards at any moment, seeing this, Bakunawa's barely contained fighting spirit started to leak out before being forcefully suppressed, not yet, for, as Sophia said, the most satisfying outbursts is right after a great excruciating temperance, it must be because of her edging Sophia to her brim until she can't take it anymore, but hey, a profound philosophy, no matter how it was acquired is a philosophy nonetheless.

"Well, be that as it may, but apparently, due to me being a literal monster when I was a kid, I don't think we have any kind of relation... but, you know, my wife said that there is someone strong named Minokawa, is that you? By any chance, of course."

Bakunawa's smile is still present (way to edge herself for maximum pleasure), but Minokawa can feel the palpable pressure emanating from the woman in front of him, which made him sigh, he then looked at the sky and threw the bird wing cape in the air and jumped into the air right after it started feather falling.

"I hope I am up to your standards."

"... Me too."

Bakunawa's smile grew broader, and finally, her overflowing bloodlust and thirst for a satisfying fight was felt all throughout the city, the city expected an attack from a hero tier firepower form the opposing side, thus a very organized protocol was immediately followed the moment such an earth shattering desire were set free, Bakunawa and Minokawa knew that they can't give a fuck on killing or saving the people respectively, thus Minokawa, upon donning the wing cape weapon familiar [Adarna], immediately ignited himself whilst Bakunawa's chest started to swell up with the borealis faintly glowing from inside it.

The flames all over Minokawa's body started to flow towards his mouth and in an instant, his cheeks were contorted into a large bulges of glowing plasma, and just like that, the two monsters unleashed streaks of aurora and orange colored beams, the wall under Bakunawa's feet crumbled immediately as the ground started to freeze over and be burnt to crisp over and over like a never ending tidal wave of apocalyptic ocean, Minokawa is not better off, for the shockwave of the epicenter of the ice serpent and the sun eating eagle that destroyed the city on it's first bombardment also affected him, causing him to use exploding flames on his feet to not be blasted off towards the ends of the atmosphere.

After 5 seconds, the two beams collapsed, causing one final explosion, and after the explosion, Bakunawa stood rooted, unfazed at a crater that encompassed half of the city.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! MORE! MINOKAWA, GIVE ME MORE!"

Bakunawa can't help but to laugh out loud, for she have confirmed that, finally, she will have a fight of a lifetime, a fight where she doesn't need to either hold back or tuck tails and run away (or doesn't need to finger someone's ass) to fight.

A fight where she can go all out!

Minokawa frowned at this, for he just have confirmed that the woman he have just met will be a very tough nut to crack, though not as tough as "The Fortress" Emperor Kasikis of Mayari, the man who's in the sky started to have his arms, feet and face get covered with feathers whilst the [Adarna] weapon familiar started to merge with his back, spreading bright orange, almost flaming feathers.

Bakunawa, of course, also started her transformation; her body is now covered in scales, and her hands started to be contracted inside her body whilst her tongue hung longer and lower to the ground.

Thus, the battle between the Ice Serpent and the Sun-Eating Eagle commenced.

______________

As the distant city of Apolaki suddenly shone brightly with aurora and orange colored plasma beams, the warriors that are fighting in the borders of Apolaki and Mayari suddenly felt the land tremble for a second, a moment after which two monsters, a silver serpent that seems capable of coiling the whole planet with its gargantuan body and an equally massive orange colored eagle fuming with orange flames that can become plasma or flames all the same emerged.

It took not even a blink of a human eye for the two to start a battle of ice and fire, the serpent, capable of flying pursued the eagle as if it was its worst enemy or the greatest love of her life and at the same time, meteors of ice, as big as the head of the colossal eagle pelted the aviator from above whilst glaciers that spews out pure hot orange plasma shoot out, trying to target the silver serpent that started to float and fly upwards to chase for the giant bird that's gradually nearing the troposphere. Such a scene, even though, in a sense, a normal occurrence in the land of calamities, is still a great shock for normal soldiers who're haul-assing just not to die in the war.

Who would have thought that there would be people who would actively seek out excitement by risking their lives by lobbing meteors out of a giant eagle? How ridiculous.

Kasikis of Mayari, however, is not surprised by this behavior of Bakunawa, after all, the commander Sophia (who's absent in the main battlefield but still somehow orchestrated a very well organized 1v1 strategy) has already made a heads up not to disturb her wife that will have one hell of a fight for the first time in forever, thus, the emperor of Mayari ignored the sonorous sound of ice and fire colliding and instead glared at his surroundings while he ride his weapon familiar, a spear fitting his hero title "The Spear", which is another very creative name.

Gone is his gentle demeanor, and only a ferocity rarely seen in the gentle Emperor of Mayari is present and etched all over his face.

Because of you, our land got destroyed.

Because of you, my people are forced to live beside an apocalypse with a brain.

Because of you, I have to subordinate myself to monsters I have no chance of defeating!

Such were the thoughts of Kasikis of Mayari as he coursed through like a meteor through the battlefield, until finally, he saw a man with the same face as him, except for the fact that the man seemed to have a perpetually angry expression. Mayari immediately jumped out of his spear and, with no words that needed to be spoken, commanded it to plunge itself towards Kasikis of Mayari, that has a large rectangular shield with him.

One of the reasons why are these two siblings made the former King of Gjallarhorn apprehensive and tried giving them preferential treatment in very possible weapon trade is because of the power of the two, you see, before they split off, they are known as the only two heroes in the history of the planet to:

One, pierce through the [God's Finger] and have Urduja dodge an attack, not even Loki's event horizon was able to impress Urduja enough to dodge it. Normally, the energy of her sun is enough to accelerate the radiation of such an inorganic construct.

And such a force is what Mayari used right here, right now, with speed as fast as the speed of sound. The spear at his feet was hurled, it was a hurl that seemed to be hell bent on erasing the brother of his wielder from existence, and soon, the spear of Kasikis of Mayari reached the side of his brother, Kasikis of Apolaki, who was glowing with a faint, red flame-like light.

However, Kasikis of Apolaki is unfazed, he raised his shield, the one responsible for the second, unprecedented feat.

Kasikis of Apolaki is the only hero to have blocked [God's Finger] and successfully give it back to Urduja, and even though all of his mana was drained at that time, such a power is what he will use against his brother right now, the spear was blocked, failing to even dent the weapon familiar shield, yet its momentum didn't stopped until Kasikis of Apolaki was dragged two kilometers across, and only then did Apolaki redirected the face of the shield to his brother, and in the conical metal in the middle of his shield, a beam, 2 times the power of the attack from the spear shoot out, causing the spear to be blasted off.

Again, Mayari is unfazed by this, and as if casually, he caught his accelerating shield before he landed on the ground directly in front of the trench made by his brother.

[Immovable]

[Unstoppable]

Such were the names of the weapon familiar that would help the two brothers hopefully end their century-long grudge.

_______________

In the sky, two figures looked at each other, one had a swallowtail tuxedo while one was in light armor, both had an assured smile on their faces, as if victory was already certain the moment they laid their eyes on one another.

If Sophia is to see this, she would remember the fight between the Strongest Sorcerer of History and the Strongest Sorcerer of Today, except for the fact that Urduja and Loki are the strongest human and the strongest devil in their respective races' respective history.

"So, I guess we should fight somewhere empty?"

The radiant, solar flare and the tongue of darkness that emanated between the two calamities caused the air around them to contract and expand as if hesitating if they should enter the lungs of these two calamitous beings, however, the smiles between Loki and Urduja didn't diminish a little bit, with Urduja's proposal, Loki nodded and immediately ripped off the space between them, he respectfully gestured his hand towards the front of the 4th dimension, prompting Urduja to go first.

"Thank you."

Urduja, as if not worried that she will be locked on the 4th dimension gently put her left hand in the offering hand of Loki, like how a lady would give face to her courteous gentleman, and alas, she was not tricked, she immediately exited the 4th dimension and arrived at the sea with little island present, point nemo, if one is to mutter.

"Look..."

Urduja smiled as she felt a hard object pressing on her nape, the index finger of Loki, with the man still smiling is radiating with thick dark magic, yet Urduja didn't even prompt herself to dodge, she pointed to the sky and smiled.

"It's morning again."

As such statement, the sky all over most of the world on the far side of the sun saw the dawn earlier, way so much so than what was possible as a small, compressed sun with volatile hydrogen and helium that would bring catastrophic consequences once it landed slowly descended.

[God's Finger] once again graced the eyes of the world, but how can Loki, with the title "King of Devils," just let such a bomb drop? He immediately put his hands up, forgoing the opportunity for being the first man to backshot Urduja and pointed it towards the descending sun, he then shoot the cataclysmic projectile down, the projectile made out of wind magic imbued with dark magic, with some difficulty punctured the miniature sun, causing it to explode, still in a nuclear fashion, but at least the quakes it produced is not as tsunami educing as the one that can't be blocked by Mizukuni.

[God's Finger] neutralized.

Yet Loki didn't relaxed, with his gloved hand, he drew a blade in the air and the said air appeared a raging blade storm, black in color, it immediately charged in front of Loki, Urduja already went out of the immediate close range of Loki and immediately hurled a solar flare, and when the dark magic imbue wind blade and the solar flare that are both 10s of meters in length collided, the two exploded in a majestic supremacy fight between light and darkness.

Urduja observed this and couldn't help but squint her eyes.

_There's... something odd about Loki..._
