Chapter 204: Clash of Armies Part 3

The land generals of the Queendom of Kamatayan, as well as their army, are situated in the long strip of shore from the edge of the shore of Thanatos to the edge of the Kamatayan waters adjacent to Urduja's territory.

Normally, if one is to see this scene, hey would immediately berate such a ridiculous defense line that practically stretches kilometers, however, these millions of soldiers not only have a full semi modern, mana enhanced artillery from rifles, canons, landmines and bombs from the air, as well as the more traditional weapons like valley launchers and more traditional ones they also have the help of their Lady Sophia.

Sophia, who have become on par with Loki, the demigod of darkness and antimatter in terms of utilization of dark magic (something unprecedented by the gods that can't get out of the loop but still sanctioned by the time loop and considered a canon event) has made a simple illusion (relative to herself) that makes all the movements of the soldiers that doesn't have heartbeat but are still moving, the undeads, in short to be in synch, that means, in this battle, Sophia made it unnecessary for a commander to exist as the melee and the rangers will surely make it so that they will complement each other, retreat when it's time to retreat attack when it's time to attack among others, and in order to guard with the insidious illusions of the original master of dark magic, Loki, a barrier of super condensed mass are enveloping their brain, this will make any interference with the illusion's intended purpose to be absorbed by the barrier and will be ejected in the mouth of the affected to the assailant.

_What is this? If a single barrier got bypassed, all of the barriers will simultaneously expand and will control every ounce of atoms present in the whole bay to seal all particles that are more unstable than the atoms through nuclear energy and mana absorption process that's repeated again and again... man, this is impossible... with this alone, dark magic, the literal embodiment of instability and time, the particle that can quantify all of existence will be properly dealt with._

Loki Darkbringer, the King of Devils, hovered at the lock and loaded soldiers above him. His back had a pair of dark, dripping with black, oozing liquid bat wings that silently flapped, contrary to what bat wings should be. This inference made Loki look at the army strangely.

_The Sophia of this time is veeeryyy troublesome..._

Loki shook his head, nowhere is the troubled expression of a countered powerhouse can be felt, he was even smiling faintly as if everything is nothing but a game, he sighed and then suddenly snapped his fingers, the sound such a motion made resounded through the battlefield as the man who did it never bothered to conceal his movements, this declaration from the sky caused all of the soldiers to snap their heads upwards, there they saw Loki who's waving with his gloved hand as he mouthed "down below" without making a sound.

The soldiers knew the identity of the man, it was one of the calamity siblings of the Kingdom of Valentine, Loki Darkbringer! The man known as the only one on par with Aerendil's intelligence and the most influential mortal (though in truth he's a demigod) during the war of gods and continental wars!

One of his great feats is when...

Philo, Ruphas, Lyra, Kabuto and Bernardo looked at the man on top of them, fear creeping on their chests that is supposed to never feel anything as humane as such, and if not only for their Lady Sophia already anticipating this kind of attack and the whimsy attitude of the King of Devils and his love for interesting things and already erected a very strong and layered barrier in each of their mind, the generals would have already contacted the help of their queen as it was ordered by her that if all her guesses is to be false somehow, then they are not allowed to seek help from Bakunawa and only to her.

_Wow, they are very trustful of Sophia... shall I test that trust? No... I feel like I would get purged alongside Sophia if I got in the middle of their fated confrontation... well, I'll just have to do my part..._

Loki, again, without saying anything thought of all such notions, but in the end, the king of devils simply waved his hands and then disappeared with a black colored swirl of the wind, the undeads who have felt fear for the first time in a long while seem to still be anxious, with intent, they stared directly at the slowly dissipating dark colored winds that can still be seen strangely despite it being as dark as the night itself. They felt like the King of Devils couldn't possibly leave just like that, and indeed, he didn't, for as soon as the swirling wind had turned into that of a marble, it again started to morph.

The morph looks like when a baby kicked inside a mother's tummy, or perhaps when someone inside a jell punched the encasement really hard, in any case, it unevenly punched temporary tumor-like blobs that appeared and disappeared continuously, and, as the generals of the dead told the undeads to be cautious and once again shook off the strange feeling of fear they have never felt until now, the blades of wind suddenly expanded vertically, it encompassed the whole beach in a curtain-like form that seem to be on the verge of unveiling the great abhorrence that not even the smartest mortal can imagine.

Fortunately, when the "curtain" was raised, what the undeads saw were ship after ship that didn't have any weapons, but only an overhaul of a combined force of soldiers, looking at the approaching boats, the undeads became puzzled.

"Why... are there so many of them?"

One of the undeads audibly said, but of course, no one answered his inquiry. The army of the dead continued looking at the "vampires and devils", making guesses about what their opponents would be.

"Don't panic, everyone, I will explain."

As the undeads became increasingly confused, they heard a voice in their heads, it was Sophia, that (without the knowledge of her followers) have already identified this playful and in-character appearance of Loki, and thus, she explained the actions of the King of Devils to her subordinates, using illusions of course.

"Loki Darkbringer is known for his whims, even though he is serious in front of his sister, in this particular event, he have abducted most of the combined armies of the humans soldiers of Apolaki and slightly brainwashed them to fight loyally for the Kingdom of Valentine with a little fervor more than what they should have, this should be easy for you, however, please be careful as your role is to not let a single one of these combined forces of brainwashed and clear headed army at the other side of the shore, you will hold this position with your dear lives, and also, just like the undeads, the enemy this time can cancel their death without limits, so, even if you can't die, be careful still."

Sophia's illusion finally ended, this explanation made all the soldiers smirk in their heads, nowhere is the confusion and apprehension from earlier can be seen in their faces, for now, maybe because of Sophia's illusions, their brains became clear and the reason for the ships of the enemy's lack of any maritime artillery was laid bare in their united inference.

Loki just wanted to make it interesting, and interesting, the undeads will make it.

"FIRE!"

All the generals bellowed in unison, strangely, this bellow was heard from the middle of the swarm of armies in the middle up to the two ends of the defensive formation, causing canons, rifles, fireballs, water and wind blades shot towards the army of brainwashed humans, vampires and devils, of course, the opposition did not let their ranks suffer damage before they even landed, similarly magical and physical projectile drawn by mages and marksmen all throughout the ships that suddenly speared in their shore countered with similar intensity.

Screams were heard, both due to piercing pain and vigorous fighting spirit, but, needless to say, the battle at the Shore of Thanatos officially began.

_________

"She's really prepared, huh..."

Loki, who used the camouflage of the night to make himself unseeable by the fighting army, remarked, he then looked in the direction where the border of Apolaki and Mayari is in.

"... Well... I guess I'm supposed to visit Urduja at this moment."

The King of Devils, with a torrent of back winds, Loki has truly disappeared in the battlefield of the dead, his distention is the empire of Apolaki.

__________

The border of the enemy nations, Apolaki and Mayari.

The army of the coalition between Kamatayan, Urduja, and Mayari started their march towards the land of their targets. In front were the generals of the living of Kamatayan as well as the combined foot soldiers, marksmen and cavalry of monkeys and goblins, in the rear were the army of Urduja as well as her children and Aoi as the main commander while in the middle of the formation are the Familiares of the Mayari empire.

They were organized in box formations like the formation made by Sophia during her hero's test, this is so that the front, rear, and middle can change position anytime they want, and also to avoid clumping up and any backdoor sneak attacks.

This formation is requested by Sophia, and using some of her negotiation skills, they agreed. All of the armies have their face in a solemn frown, all with different reasons, one is fighting their last fight for their queen, one is fighting for the last time as citizens of Mayari, and one is fighting on a large scale war for the first time in their lives, yet their is also overflowing determination in their eyes, determination for them to win the war that they will be fighting moments later.

In the back of all the formation, the heavy hitters of the army namely Kasikis of Mayari, Urduja, the strongest soldier of Mayari and the first daughter of Kasikis of Mayari, Kampilan, strangely Aoi is at the front while Bakunawa is nowhere to be seen at all, but Sophia already gave a heads up that Bakunawa will be intercepting one of the heroes of the Apolaki empire and will leave the emperor brothers to have a touching reunion, well one can say that Bakunawa has been leveraging the "Sophia's wife" title and no one complained about such a notion, who knows what might happen to the status quo between two hydrogen bomb and a high end grenade if someone really dared say something against such arrangement.

_The plan is simple, according to Lady Sophia, Loki will be transporting the whole army of Apolaki in front of us any minute now... a strange prediction... or maybe she has spies inside Apolaki... in any case, after that, Urduja will be the one who will fight Loki, Kampilan will be the main assailant alongside Aoi in the battlefield, Bakunawa will intercept the second hero of Apolaki, and I will be fighting against Kasikis of Apolaki._

The Emperor of Mayari, Kasikis of Mayari, was mulling over this arrangement of the main commander of the coalition, Sophia Demiurge, for first, it was just given in an illusion, and she even said that she had already prepared any countermeasures and would be delivered to them through illusions.

Can someone really predict all the problems that will happen in a chaotic, random battlefield? Even if, in theory, Sophia can quantify the most random of things and make it predictable?

It was at this moment, when the Emperor of Mayari doubted the ability of inference of the queen of undeads that a large dome of dark-colored wind blades appeared in front of the army, causing all of them to halt and get ready for action, this is one of the orders from the commander, which made all the main fighters at the back to look at each other in surprise, well, or maybe not, after all, Emperor Kasikis of Mayari and Urduja have seen Loki do this several times.

As their opponents finally arrived, Kampilan did not need to ask for orders. With a huge momentum, she jumped from the back all the way to the top of the airspace of the enemy, her Kampilan glowing in a green, almost blinding light.

Aoi saw this and made all of her eyes open, causing her kimono to flutter as if being afraid of the rainbow colored aurora emanating from its owner, these aurora then condensed and exploded, in front of the opposing army that doesn't have a sturdy barrier to repel mind attacks, seeing this, Kasikis of Mayari nodded at Urduja and hurled the spear on his hand, and then jumped on it like Son Wokung.

Urduja sighed and also started to fly as she emitted strong solar flares from all over her body. She started to float and eye Loki at the very front of the Apolaki empire's entrance, and they flew, though she couldn't help but reminisce about the scene that she had watched transpire earlier.

_Kampilan's ass is quite nice, I should talk to her later._

Well, one can say that old habits die hard, especially if one nurtures them regularly.
