Chapter 820 – Clothes and Magic
Yue changed her clothes a few times before settling on the previous high-waisted Ruqun.
"Are you sure you don't want something like this?" Aiko finally brought up the effects of the clothes and possible sets.
"No." Yue flatly rejected it looking at the impossibly short 'skirt' part.
"Eh, you are missing out on things." Aiko shrugged but chuckled. "Then how about underwear?"
"If they are as questionable as what you have just shown, I will pass." Yue didn't play like this, since she liked modesty with some sensuality, but definitely mostly covered by this point.
"You never know, it's quite diverse." Aiko nodded her head seriously.
"How can underwear be diverse?" There were only a few types of underwear that were widely spread.
Bandage-type for 'covert', A simple one piece that you would tie behind your back and kind of like a shirt.
Aiko dragged Yue into the lingerie shop.
At first Yue almost spanked Aiko, but after trying a few of them.
"Oh? It relieves some of the pressure?" Yue was surprised that outside of the smuttiness, there was actually a lot of practicality!
"You can choose these, you know?" Aiko brought over the medicinal bra and sport bra, there were a few others like this, but Yue was... peculiar in testing things.
She would either dance or sway to see if the bra was the right size and if the effects were fine.
"Okay, fine. I admit that these are pretty nice." Yue pouted. She didn't want to admit this, but she was worried that Aiko might confiscate them, so the only one who would be losing would be her.
"I know right?" Aiko smiled.
"I'm still concerned about a few things, but since the bra will be under the clothes, I shouldn't worry too much." Yue appreciated the design and its benefits.
"Just don't forget to pick the right colour." Aiko reminded her to make things easier for her.
"Hm? Ah, yes." Yue realised what Aiko meant and chuckled. "I thought you would like me to wear something dark so you could just barely see the outlines."
"I would, but then I would get bullied by you." Aiko shook her head. "A pair of tidies is not worth the trouble!" She said with serious conviction.
"And yet you are going around without any underwear." Yue shook her head as she laughed at Aiko.
"I... can't help it." Aiko had set effects which would disappear if she picked something that was not part of the set.
And sure, some sets allowed for those things, but magic-based sets were more... problematic.
Yue swayed her body and her bosom followed with wide bounces.
"They bounce less, but it feels like they have greater impact." Yue commented on her observation.
"You will destroy nations with that bounce." Aiko smirked at her.
"... I already did..." Yue pursed her lips. "That's how I ended up here."
"... Sorry..." Aiko awkwardly scratched her head.
"It's fine." Yue shrugged. It felt like she was teasing Aiko. "It's already far in the past, but I do look forward to what will happen to them." She chuckled sinisterly, as if she was already planning something.
"Right, since you are mostly free. What are you planning?" Aiko made some small talk while going through the different lingeries that actually had effects.
"I would like to torture then, but Ghosts are too weak to survive against Buddhists, so I will have to come up with something." Yue nodded her head seriously. "As for my other enemies... Unfortunately for them, most of them practice the Yin arts, so those will be easy to deal with."
"Will you drain their energies or something?" Aiko couldn't find good underwear paired with anything stealth or survival related, so she gave up for the time being.
"Ew, no." Yue frowned like she was chewing on something nasty. "There is no way I will touch them. The only thing I will do for them is pick a place where they will die."
Aiko nodded her head slowly. She felt like it was kind of wasteful, but this was not her revenge, so~!
"Are you also choosing clothes?" Yue was curious about what Aiko would pick.
"Not as many clothes as some assassination equipment." Aiko smirked. She was looking forward to what she could create.
[Assassin Set] + [Nightingale Set] + [Ranger Set] + [Primitive Set]
Aiko picked a few sets that she liked the effects of.
[Assassin Set] allowed her to stealthily execute her enemies while blending into surroundings.
[Nightingale Set] was closer to a night dancer who had all stats improved as long as it was dark outside.
[Ranger Set] allowed uninhibited movement through forests and plains, among others. It also guided you during hunting and gave you basic tools to butcher and cook.
[Primitive Set] was mostly about resistances against disease debuffs and improved physique.
[Barbaric Nightingale Set]
'A bit of a meh name, but...' Aiko smirked.
[Barbaric Nightingale Set][Effect: Amplifies any stealth effects 2 times.][Effect: Amplifies damage from stealth 15 times.][Effect: All stats are improved in the dark.][Effect: Dancer-type skills are improved by 1.5 times.][Effect: Grants uninhibited movement through lush lands.][Effect: Butchery yields more food and resources.][Effect: Cooking yields more food and lower chance of food poisoning.][Effect: Your impact strength is amplified by 2 times.][Effect: Your body's physique has improved by 1.75 times.][Effect: You gain disease immunity.]
These effects were as crazy as they got, but the price for creating this set was also steep...
[Barbaric Nightingale Set] - 1,000,000 Soul Points
'No, it's obvious it would cost so much.' Aiko nodded her head seriously. She would have to farm a bit to get those numbers.
'I have a lot of marbles. Can I exchange them for Soul Points?' Aiko asked the system, since she would have excess even when she bought all those special lures.
[It is possible.]
The system didn't deny it, so Aiko immediately made a purchase that made her go broke.
However, she just needed the outfit, since basic weapons would be for free.
'Okay, now let's see the set~' Aiko was looking forward to it, but it was better to do it without Yue.
"Would you like to buy something else?" Aiko asked Yue while going through the inventory.
"There are some nice things, but they actually cost a bit, so I should probably get some money first." Yue narrowed her eyes.
The surrounding energy was eerily similar to Ghost Essence, just processed through something and making it purer than before.
She was curious how that was possible, but she wouldn't be able to question Aiko, since she seemed a complete novice.
The, whatever thing was floating in front of her, was hard to understand, since she didn't have any basic knowledge about it.
Aiko probably saw this thing too, but she would probably be more familiar with this.
"Say, do you know something about this?" Yue showed Aiko her, whatever that thing was, asking her about her opinion.
"Oh, yeah. I have this one too." Aiko smiled and started explaining things...
...
"But why do you have more Mana..." Aiko was not sure about that.
[Ghosts do not have natural vessels, so their ability to control 'Mana' is that much greater.]
"Or so it says." Aiko nodded her head.
"And that means...?" Yue was confused.
"That you are a good Mage." Aiko smiled from ear to ear.
"Can't I just go with the painting...?" Yue didn't want to learn more if she didn't need to.
"But it's fun?" Aiko tilted her head.
"Tie your hair first, and I will show you." Aiko chuckled sinisterly, making Yue concerned about what will happen next.
Yue picked a dragon hairpin before making a small bun and pierced it with it.
"Okay." Yue was concerned, but she would go with Aiko to see what she was up to.
"You don't have to worry." Aiko shook her head.
"If it involves you, I will always worry." Yue shook her head. Aiko was too unpredictable, as shown by her ability to just chew through stuff.
"Hey!" Aiko pouted at her, but they still went to the testing grounds.
"Right." Aiko rolled up her sleeve. She would start with something less dangerous.
[Hymn of Destruction]
Aiko chose lesser destruction this time, summoning a hand above her that slammed into the ground.
"Oh..." Yue nodded her head. "That's like the Descending Fist."
"..." Aiko paused. "Then how about this!"
[Fire Sea]
A water ball was summoned in front of her and floated high above before popping and flooding this area.
Then the water suddenly ignited, creating a sea of flames.
"Oh~" Yue didn't see this in a while. "Those are the Northern Sea Flames." She nodded her head like she was convinced she got it right.
'There is no way that's a real thing, right...?' The system called it magic, but what if it was not actually magic, but simply something that was easy for her to chew through?
This wouldn't be the first time that the system would make something into a simpler version just to teach her something!
Of course, this time, the system was silent, as if affirming that both Yue and Aiko were right...
'Curses.' Aiko clicked her tongue.
"Then this?" Aiko narrowed her eyes.
[Blood Field]
A lake of blood was conjured below them and spread some distance away from them.
"Even Fiendish Techniques? How peculiar." Yue nodded her head. "As for the name, it's difficult to say since all of them called it differently." She shook her head.
"..." Aiko wanted to give up, it felt like everything was-
"Heh." Aiko suddenly chuckled.
[Gate of Capital B]
Aiko raised her hands as appliances and just anything and everything you can imagine fell all around them.
"That's..." Yue paused. "Fine, this is definitely 'magic'." Her lips kept twitching when she saw that Aiko was throwing around even washing basins and bathtubs.
"I knew it~" Aiko smiled happily, but she was still concerned that everything else was also a technique...
