I finally walked away leaving the hallway and I didn't stop for a long time almost traveling mindlessly. My thoughts raced as my feet tapped against the floor but it wasn't until I felt the sun on my face did my steps pause, I looked around seeing a large area covered in some sort of silver metal with Dozens of weapons hung on the walls ready to be taken at any moment.
'I should train' Training seemed to always cure a few of my problems and I needed the distraction now more than ever.
The training yard was empty at this hour with just me and the cool morning air that was sharp against my skin. I walked over to my side and slowly picked up a practice sword as the familiar weight was comforting in my hand. I didn't hesitate walking out into the center and began with some basic drills.
The repetitive movements helping to calm my thoughts. Each simple swing and each step was a reminder of my purpose and my duty. The physical exertion burned away the lingering anger and dark emotions that had once filled my body.
As I moved through the exercises my thoughts kept drifting back to what I had seen Nessa doing earlier. The image was like a thorn in my mind stabbing me in a way that was impossible to ignore. I grunted pushing harder and driving myself through more complex routines.
Eventually I stopped panting lightly as the training yard was once again quiet with only my ragged breathing sounding out. I hesitated before sitting down on a nearby bench placing the wooden sword to my side and wiping my face with a cloth, it wasn't until I was dry did i lean back closing my eyes and trying to find a moment of peace.
If the information was legitimate then the mission ahead wasn't only important but it could possibly be a turning point. I couldn't afford to be distracted by personal matters not when so much was at stake and yet as I sat the image of Leon and Nessa kept creeping back into my mind, a reminder that some things couldn't be easily set aside.
"You're up early" I wasn't surprised as a voice sounded out since I had already heard footsteps approaching.
"I don't plan on making a habit of it" I opened my eyes staring forward where the duchess was walking toward me.
'Well that's one way to be distracted' My gaze lowered and my mouth watered as I stared at the training clothing that covered her body.
A pair of spandex leggings tightly wrapped around her legs highlighting her muscular thighs that flexed as she walked. The upper half was a crop top that was struggling to hide her large breasts while her chiseled abs we're completely exposed, The outfit left little to the imagination not only showcasing her athletic and toned build but also the grace with which she carried herself.
"Training?" Her stride was filled with unmatched confidence as she came to a stop in front of me raising one of her sharp eyebrows.
"Something of the sort" I replied with a half smile forcing my eyes back to her face only to turn stiff seeing her lips curled into a knowing smile.
"Shall we spar then?" Thankfully she didn't say anything about my gaze as a challenging glint filled her eyes.
"Sure" I let out a soft sigh picking up the practice sword and tossing it to her.
The duchess caught it effortlessly with her movements fluid and precise as her fingers wrapped around the handle. I stood up and walked to the side grabbing another wooden sword before turning to look at the graceful women across from me, We took our positions in the center of the training yard facing each other.
"No cheep shots" I narrowed my eyes while wiggling my wrist around slightly.
"Oh my! is the hero perhaps…scared?" The duchess covered her mouth with her hand and made a teasing smile.
"Scared?" I felt my eye twitch as I started to walk to my side which she mirrored in the opposite direction.
