Chap 53: his stand
"Magician red!" Following Avadol command, her stand summon fire surrounding all sides of Perseus.
The stand have her completely covered under it's red hot flame.
"No matter how strong your attack is and where it came from, as long as i have this shield, i can not be harmed. As soon as your friend died from my weapon, you'll be my next target." Perseus said, holding the shield behind one of her arm.
Avadol stare wide eyes at the her enemy, who is still smilling. The fire she summoned does little to hurt her while everything else close around was being burn and melted down, the containers that were nearby is already reduced to molten metal.
Sweats dripping down her forehead, her friend won't able to run forever. She call Magician red to spun the flame around Perseus's body and reshape itself into a chain.
"Chain ?" Suprised showed on her face, ofcourse. When facing Avadol stand, everyone first impression would be that Magician red is a stand that control fire.
But they don't have an idea how well that control extended to. Magician's Red's signature ability is to freely generate and control fire and they are not ordinary flames, but flames that can be freely manipulated by Avadol. With a thought, the fortuneteller can redirect her flames mid-air, give them any shape, control how intense their destructive power is, and even remotely detonate her flames, instantly incinerating any burning targets.
"I figured that since i can't burn you, how about i drown you instead." Grabing hold of the fire construct. Magician red drag on the chain with both arm, determined to thrown the shielded woman off the ship.
Perseus, trembling tries to maintain a semblance of control but failling. Their once intimidating aura is now replaced with desperation.
'it seemed my intuition was right.' She had a hunch, but she need a way to prove it.
Perseus, hasn't move one bit. Ever since her battle with Polnale, she didn't budge one inch from the original spot. Her impenetrable defense is activated only when she motionless or stop moving at a certain degree.
Her first clue was all the battle marks leave by Polnale rapier; her seccond clue is right now when she dragging Perseus over to the see while still lighting her body in extremly hot fire.
“Wait, wait! Let’s talk this out. You don’t have to do this,” they stammer, their Stand flickering beside them. “do you want information ? I can tell you everything! The boss’s plans, the hideouts, even her Stand’s ability!” while pleading, her feet try their best to dig into the floor but it doesn't hold at all since the flame is still melting everything close to her, sure her stand can protect her but not the surrounding environment.
Avadol steps forward and showing no interest to even a gaze back. “You’ve already said enough. I’m not interested in your lies.” now that she know for sure this is her weakspot, her resolve only grow stronger.
“Hahaha l-Lies? No, no! I’m serious! I can be useful to you! You don’t want to waste a resource like me, do you?” she forces out a nervous laugh.
“you think you can just kill me? Even if i am killed, but the effect of my stand will remain.” When they realize negotiation isn’t working, their tone shifts. Their voice grows louder, more frantic. She glare at Avadol, trying to mask her own terror with bravado. “You don’t know who you’re messing with! If i'm going down i'll take one of you with me!”
Avdol hesitated, the fire in her eyes dimming
as he considered the offer. "If you value
your life, you'll honor your word. Call
off your stand now, i'll spare your life. And once i let you go, you'll leave. Understand ?" he demanded, his voice stern.
She nodded frantically, her lips curling into a hidden smirk from Avadol face as they inwardly plotted their betrayal.
Hidden behind her shield is a short gladiator sword, the moment Magician's Red loosened it's grip, she will sprang forward.
Despite how much she gloat about her stand being the best, there is one weakness to it. If she pulled out the sword, then one of her other tool will lose it's effect.
Between the spear that is still chasing Polnale and the shield that is protecting her from the burning power of Magician red she choose the spear. This is something she's willing to bet on. She can already picture when she will stab them and get out of their binding. A deadly gleam in their eyes.
Moments later, a flying spear return to them, it flew itself right into Perseus hand. "There, now let me go."
She watch intently as the firery chain was loosen, she waited until the open was wide enoigh for her to draw her blade.
"Fool!" they hissed, their strike is lethal and aimed directly at Avadol. But before they could land the blow, a blur of movement cut through the air.
"Ḋ̶̛̟͈̫͓̦͖̋̉̈́̎o̵̪̘͙̗̞̐̍͌͜͝n̵̛̬̪͔̄̿̕̕̕͝'̶̫̘͎̪̙̈́́̈́̀͜͝t̵̲̲̾̎͋͜ ̷̧̤̜̜̪͖̬̍͂̈́̀̆́̑ḿ̴̝͌̀͐͘̕͠ơ̶̮̘͚̤̣͉͗͒̃͑̒v̸͓̳͙̼̥͙̯̇e̵̮͙͍͛̅̿̋͛̔̄"
A voice shouted over but reaching only to Perseus ear, with a Stand delivering a thrust attack, twisting itself into a sharp point spike. A clear see through yellow spike can be seen at her front, that blow that cause Perseus lifeless body crumpling into the floor and rolled down to the ocean. Avadol looked at the man, her expression a mix of shock and gratitude.
"You saved me," she muttered, regaining her composure. "Wait, where is Kakoyrin ?"
Pointing his thumb backward, not too far from them is Kakoyrin coming over.
----------(flashback)------------
Bored half out of his mind, Takichi just been idle waiting for the next thing to do. It is almost a given that there's a stand user, no way some strange event like this happen for no other reason than a attack.
'Should i go over ?' At this point, it is obvious the events that has occurred is the work from stand user, maybe mutiple of them.
Takichi isn't sure if his involment will change the future but he's pretty sure there's something bad will happened on that cargo ship.
'!?' Narrowing his eyes, he call Kakoyrin over, "oh, that can't be good." He din't need to look at her to see her expression.
From afar is a collum of flame that rise high enough for the two of them to see. Takichi din't hesitate and climb his step to the cargo ship, followed by Kakoyrin right behind him.
---------(end of flashback)---------
"I see, so that's what happened. Well thank you again for saving me." Avadol nodded as she hear the retell of event from Kaloyrin.
"No problem, by the way. Where is Polnale ?" Questioned, Kaloyrin ask in a worrying tone.
"Oh, right. We should go look for her, and then look for miss Josane and Josano as well. They might have encounter a stand user like us." Both Avadol and Kakoyrin turn their attention to search for their friend, right now they just want to get off this ship as fast as possible.
Ignoring Takichi who was a bit slower as a yellow slime climb it's way back up the ship sides to him.
