Chap 118: clearing the air
The cleanup crew came very fast, as befitting someone of his status. And it all happened so quickly, too, not leaving any evidence or witnesses behind. The Collateral damage is small and would be fixed within weeks, days if he pushed it.
"Here, lie down." Takumi gently put Tojiko's resting figure on the bed.
"Since when did you get so strong?"
"I'm always this strong, haven't you noticed ?" He gave her a smirk, it felt like a part of his pride was restored when doing this.
She had insisted on walking, but the bleeding gash that threatened to spill her guts out said otherwise. So after he used Tranquil Deer to heal her up, now her wounds are gone and she just needs to rest.
Going inside the house, he split up from the clones. While he went upstairs with Tojiko, one would stay by Megumi and the other would take care of the minor task.
"Must be confusing huh? Looking at my mirrors like they're the real me."
"Not that much, I was just focused on your Shikigami at the time than your brothers. They're really look like you, you know ?"
Looking at her, Takumi pondered whether he should tell. He was very hesitant, but finally his mouth opened.
"That's because they really are me."
"What ?"
Going home, of course, he then has to explain everything to Tojiko. From all his abilities to the clones and his system as well, including his past life, leaving out only the fact that each world is a work of fiction. Takumi watched Tojiko, who kept a straight face the whole time and did not make any expression to what he said.
"Well?"
"...."
"Come on, you gotta have a question." Anxiousness was creeping up his neck, Takumi looked at her, eye to eye. It was weighing him down so much that Takumi regretted telling her so much.
"Do....do you still love me?"
"Yes, you idiot what kind of question is that ? Of course I love you."
"Then I don't care about anything else." She said, "All I wanted was your love, gods, worlds, or devils can all go into the trash can."
Her arm then hooked him in for a kiss. Takumi was surprised by the strength she used to pull him to her. His heartbeat increased a few paces, but soon calmed down.
"Are you better now?" Inquired Tojiko as she brushed her husband's hair with tender care.
"Yeah." He buried his face in the crook of her neck. "Toji ?"
"Yes, my love?"
"Thank you."
Weeks later, the three Takumi sat with their family at the dinner table.
"Do you like the idea ?" Takumi asks while grabbing a tuna with his chopsticks.
"Not only can I shit on those old heads, but my child would become the next head ?" She let out a big laugh, "I cannot think of a bigger joke."
"So you don't mind if I go to the compound tomorrow, right ?"
Takumi just received a letter, it is the annual meeting between the clan heads. While the facade is of a meeting for the higher class in Jujutsu society, but formally, that is just an excuse for him to announce himself to the world of Jujutsu.
"Alone ?"
"You can come too, but our child-"
"If anyone dares to touch my kid, I will carve out their ovaries."
"It's not like that, I was just thinking that it would be a bad source of influence for Megumi."
"Oh, well in that case...." she took a glance at one of his clones.
"Hmmm.....sure thing then." One of the two Takumi-Takune, said. The other, Takichi, is busy with another mission and he needs someone to be available in case he needs to send them away on a system notification.
Once done with the dinner, the clone helps clean up the room. Tojiko left to look after Megumi, and Takumi went to his study room, looking deeper for info. He now knows the location that the meeting place has been decided to be at the Gojo clan's ground.
Every time the place is switched between the three clans. It is changed often so that every clan can show their prosperity to everyone, another meaning to it is that they can flex their might to not be seen as weak.
He has heard about all the recent news he can get his hands on, the cannon only provides him with the major info, not the small details behind the scenes. That is why he has to use his own resources to gather intel through the use of the puppet.
Upgraded to be so advanced, they might be robots for human eyes. But still not quite what he was aiming for, they can fulfill a lot of his tasks. While not able to beat a grade 2 sorceress or beyond, he was sure that the more time he spent refining them would help them to be stronger.
News of the Zennin has been leaking out for months, he can't stop it, and he has no intention of doing so. It would benefit him more if he showed up to this event in his show of force.
As far as he knew, the heir of the Gojo clan was in their teens by now. For everyone else, the news of such a special child causes quite the ruckus. The Gojo clan, he already knows about their six-eyes child. Call the strongest in this age.
"Hmpth.....Gojo Satoru, I wonder what will happen to this world."
And next is the Kamo, which is the weaker of the big three, though, he can see everyone else looking down on his clan now that he is in charge of the Zennin. Having a man leading in a position of a woman's world tends to have such a consequence.
As for the current head and heir, it is pretty much open information that they are desperate. So much so that the position of clan head is being held open to the strongest of the children.
The current head of the Kamo is quite the passionate woman, having a bunch of male concubines. 30 or so, she killed a lot of them because they failed her expectations.
28 heirs fighting against each other, whether by some goals of their own or because of their parents pushing them for it. There could only be one that rises to it.
"I can capitalize on this." Takumi thought about a certain Kamo member.
There are also some smaller clans that'll be there for 'socializing', but he knew they would be more like vultures trying to get some scraps. He has eyes on them too, one to be exact.
Reading the report one last time, Takumi burned the letter to ash and then headed to bed with his wife. Tomorow is going to be a very eventful day, and he's going to be the center of it.
