Chapter 148. I Blamed Puberty
Succubi Chapter 148. I Blamed Puberty
I turned slowly. “You want to run that by me again?”
Kyra grinned. “Kidding. Mostly.”
Felix snorted. “I mean… if she told you to sit…”
“I’d probably sit just to make this conversation stop.”
Adrian looked horrified. “He’s already cracked.”
“NO,” I said firmly, standing. “I am going back to the dorm. Without any ropes, without any trigger phrases, and without any of you weirdos whispering shadow assassin fantasies at me.”
Felix raised a hand. “Just one last question.”
“What?” I grumbled.
He smirked. “Did she spray the perfume on you, or did you spray it on yourself?”
I froze.
“…She sprayed it,” I mumbled.
Adrian gasped. “Oh my gods, she marked you herself.”
Kyra clapped her hands. “You’re doomed.”
I let out the most tired, deadpan sigh of my life. “Can I please just go home like a normal not-tied-up teenager?”
Felix opened his mouth.
I pointed. “Don’t say it.”
He grinned. “Too late. You’re Evelyn’s lunch and dinner now.”
Kyra snorted. Adrian exploded laughing.
And me?
I turned and walked straight down the hall, already regretting every decision I’d made today, including waking up.
But under it all?
Under the embarrassment, the teasing, the horror?
There was that tiniest, most cursed little thought I couldn’t kill.
What if she did tie me up?
I should not have thought that. I really shouldn’t have.
But my stupid teenage brain decided to commit war crimes against my sanity and run the entire mental tape in glorious 4K detail.
Evelyn.
Me.
Rope.
Shadows dancing on the wall. A low, commanding whisper… not hers, mine. Somehow I was the one giving orders, even though I was the one tied. Her smile curved like she enjoyed it way too much. Her lips on my neck. Her hair brushing against my chest. Her fingers dragging slow, threatening, teasing lines across my skin…
I blinked hard.
Nope.
NOPE.
Abort. Eject. Blow the memory up.
I walked out of the arcana hall trying not to look like I was holding back a grin and an existential crisis. The sun hit my face and the fresh breeze slapped me like it knew what I was thinking. My face was hot. Like, actually hot. Flushed. And it wasn’t from spell exertion. Nope. This was straight-up shame heat from the fantasy I just involuntarily scripted and directed in my head.
My stupid hormones were out here writing a full-blown XXX dungeon scene with cinematic lighting and everything.
I blamed puberty.
I blamed breakfast.
I blamed Evelyn.
Hell, I even blamed the cologne. Everything was complicit.
I felt a laugh almost escape my throat but bit it back fast. There were still students all around, pouring out of other lecture halls. The corridors echoed with chatter, boots, magical notebooks floating overhead, people casting light spells to text midair while walking. Normal day.
Except my face was betraying me. And worse…
People were looking.
Like, really looking.
Girls. Boys. A few older students.
Some were just glancing. Others were staring.
I saw one girl nudge her friend and whisper.
Another one actually tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled at me as I walked past like she was ready to say “Hi!” and also “Please ruin me.”
Oh no.
Oh no no no.
This was bad.
I needed to stop thinking.
I shoved the thought into the mental shredder.
Tied-up-Evan? Gone.
Shadow-Evelyn? Banished.
Sweaty perfume air freshener with a hard-on? ERASED.
But it was too late.
The damage was done.
Whatever stupid aura I had right now was radiating like I was auditioning for Demon Bachelor 9000.
More eyes turned my way. More people gave that half-second ‘what is that vibe’ expression. A third-year literally dropped her book as she passed me. Someone sniffed. Someone else gasped.
I was five seconds from having a full-blown crowd.
And then…
“Evan!”
I flinched like I’d been caught red-handed.
Oh no.
That voice.
That tone.
I turned fast, heart already speeding up.
There she was. Evelyn. In her uniform, walking toward me with that look on her face. Not playful. Not flirty.
Annoyed. A little worried.
Her eyes locked on mine, sharp and scanning.
“What are you doing?” she asked, grabbing my arm.
I stiffened. “Hi. Uh. Evelyn. Hey.”
Smooth.
She narrowed her eyes. “Don’t ‘hey Evelyn’ me. You need to stop that.”
My eyes darted left. “Stop… what?”
I was 90% sure she meant the scene playing in my mind fifteen seconds ago. My brain already started screaming defense tactics. Lie. Deny. Pretend I was thinking about sandwiches or sword forms or anything not involving rope and commands and moaning.
But before I could open my mouth again…
“Your pride demon aura is leaking,” she hissed, her voice low but sharp. “Now you’re walking around like a demon lord who’s silently screaming ‘Serve me!’ in everyone’s brain.”
I cringed so hard I almost folded in half.
“HUH? Wait—what?” I looked down at myself, then quickly patted my head and back. “My horns are still hidden! My wings too. I’m still in my human form, right?”
She nodded. “You look human. But you’re leaking power like a cracked dam.”
I checked again, panic rising. “I didn’t cast anything! I didn’t even sneeze mana!”
“It’s not that kind of aura,” she said, lowering her voice and pulling me a step away from the hallway traffic. “It’s… pride aura. That mix of ‘I own the room,’ ‘worship me,’ and ‘kneel at my feet’ energy. And it’s coming off you like a storm cloud dipped in pheromones.”
I blinked. “That’s not a real thing.”
She tilted her head. “Tell that to the three girls who just bumped into each other trying to follow you.”
I turned slowly.
And yeah.
Three girls.
One with glitter in her hair. One in Valor robes. One I think was from Saint.
All of them standing awkwardly ten feet away pretending they weren’t staring at me like I was an open bar at a wedding.
“Oh no,” I muttered.
Evelyn crossed her arms. “You need to calm down. Breathe. Focus. Center yourself.”
