Luffy Versus Akainu Part 1
While Liam and Kizaru's battle was heating up, Luffy and Akainu were already going hard with their battle.
The moment they faced each other after Luffy's push, Akainu was ready to melt Luffy with his Magma.
Because the first thing he did after standing up was throw a punch straight towards Luffy.
[Great Eruption]
His right fist turned into a small molten magma-covered fist before it expanded like a gigantic fist of pure magma and moved forward like an oversized rocket.
The layers upon layers of magma began to burn the ground underneath while increasing the temperature of the island by several degrees in an instant.
Luffy felt heat piercing through his rubbery body, but he was able to endure it without the use of Haki or any Gears.
He compressed his right fist and covered it with Armament Haki. After imbuing it with Haki, he shot out his fist.
While it was expanding in mid-air, he started to spin his arm, generating powerful force in his fist.
[Gumo Gomu No- Compressed Riffle]
His fist struck the magma, the force behind his fist pierced through the magma while the heat from the magma tried to hurt his fist, only to be blocked by Armament Haki.
Even so, he was still feeling a burning in his hand.
That was just his basic attack, but it was able to produce so much heat.
Of course, Luffy was easily able to ignore this level of heat as he had withstood the heat of the Supernova, that capable of burning an island.
When Luffy realized that his fist was being surrounded by magma and couldn't pierce through, he quickly pulled back.
He jumped into the air, pulling both of his hands and shooting them forward like a barrage.
[Gomu-Gomu No- Hawk Gattling]
As he continued attacking, his fists began to produce several fireballs in mid-air. These fireballs covered his fists and shot toward Akainu.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Akainu simply ignored Luffy's attack. That attack tried to pierce through Akainu, but his Haki wasn't strong enough. Not only that, his fire would burn out the moment it came in contact with Akainu's body.
"Dragon's Son, this is the real fire."
[Hound Blaze]
Akainu shot a powerful wave of magma shaped into a fanged dog head. It was not only extremely powerful but also fast.
Luffy had to rely on his Future Sight to capture the attack beforehand, just to dodge it. But even then, the side of his face was almost caught by this attack.
"Hot! Hot! Hot!"
"This is too much."
Luffy screamed as he felt redness on his cheek. He quickly entered Gear Second and traveled hundreds of meters away from Akainu.
"Humph!"
Akainu snorted when he found Luffy dodging his attack. He forgot Luffy had Future Sight, but even so, it wouldn't work so easily.
After all, the heat of his magma was still there. As long as it was near Luffy, it would burn Luffy. That's how magma and rubber react to each other.
When he saw Luffy running away, he instantly turned his feet into volcanic blasts, giving him an insane boost in speed, similar to Luffy.
He quickly caught up to Luffy and launched another fiery attack. This time, he clapped his hands together, gathering a large amount of magma on his fists.
When he gathered the magma that was the size of a basketball, he threw it towards Luffy's back.
Luffy's Future Sight gave him the vision of the attack, which only made him frown deeper.
When the magma ball was about to reach him, Luffy stretched out one of his arms toward a house and caught the corner of the building.
He used the elasticity of the rubber to pull himself towards the building and dodged the magma ball by an inch.
But just before he could reach the building, the magma ball fell into the ground and exploded, creating a blast radius of hundreds of meters, almost engulfing everything around it in flames.
Whoosh!
Luffy's body suddenly came out of the explosion, with his entire body covered with Armament Haki, forming a protective layer around his skin.
This allowed him to take the explosion in the face without suffering any damage. Since he was using Gear Second, he had much more resistance against heat.
Thud!
Luffy's body collided against the wall, but he suffered no damage due to his body being made out of rubber.
Suddenly, the ground underneath him began to shake. The building started to crumble as a massive pillar of lava shot out from the underground, revealing the figure of Akainu.
"Damn! This guy is chasing after me like a dog."
Luffy cursed, only to realize something and smacked his palm with his fist, saying.
"I forgot his nickname is Akainu. Sure enough! Liam is right. There might be wrong names, but there will not be wrong nicknames."
Of course, Luffy wasn't silently whispering. His voice was loud enough for Akainu to hear.
This only made his face darken. After all, his real name was Sakazuki. Akainu did mean Red Dog, and he didn't mind having such a name.
But it did irritate him when Luffy used his name to insult him. This only made him drip more magma around him.
The next moment, he released a massive pillar of lava that went straight towards Luffy, who was still on top of the collapsing building.
The magma engulfed everything in an instant, and more importantly, the building started melting while Luffy was still on top.
Luffy used his Gear Second together with Geppo to fly away from the attack. He didn't even need Future Sight to see that attack.
But Akainu also treated that attack as a distraction. Using his Observation Haki, he instantly sensed Luffy's presence and turned his feet into volcanic blasts.
He crossed several hundred meters in an instant, reaching in front of Luffy and slamming his hand forward.
His hand expanded like an erupting volcano, trying to capture Luffy in a single shot.
[Great Eruption]
The air began to distort due to heat, and the pressure began to sweep everything away.
Luffy realized he couldn't dodge it. At least, not without taking some damage.
The problem was that the so-called damage from the most offensive fruit in the world could be deadly.
So, he had no choice but to counter.
Since Akainu was going to hurt him, he would do everything to hurt Akainu.
He bit his thumb and inserted air into his bones, inflating his hand into the hand of a giant.
He inflated both hands and coated them with Armament Haki. He turned off his Gear Second and dashed toward Akainu's magma attack with his own.
[Gomu Gomu No- Elephant Gatling]
Luffy started punching hard. Each punch pierced through magma, destroying some of it and throwing the remaining pieces.
The magma fell on the ground, creating powerful explosions and engulfing Luffy.
But Luffy was moving his fists so fast that the air waves around him were shielding him from the explosions.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Luffy screamed while constantly throwing more and more punches towards Akainu's gigantic magma fists.
When the magma fist was almost destroyed, Luffy's fist came in direct contact with Akainu.
At this moment, Akainu clenched both of his hands and started punching towards Luffy, but just like Luffy.
[Multiple Great Eruptions]
His punches released a powerful eruption of magma blasts that struck Luffy giant fists, reaching almost a stalemate in mid-air.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Each of their collision would lead to a massive explosion. The heat and flame weren't effective on Akainu, but it was quite deadly for Luffy.
After all, his entire body was nothing but rubber.
Even so, Luffy had no fear of the heat or explosions. He just kept smashing his fists forward, releasing more and more Haki into his punches.
Soon, his punches didn't even touch Akainu's magma. At this moment, Luffy realized that he could just use Advanced Armament Haki to block the magma.
Although that would consume his Haki quite quickly, it was a good method to keep fighting.
Akainu also realized that Luffy was using his Advanced Armament to attack his Great Eruptions without touching them.
Unlike before, Luffy no longer felt any heat in his fists, so he just kept punching harder with pure joy.
When he punched through the last of Akainu's Great Eruption, he pulled back his fist. His fist, still in Gear Third, got engulfed in flames.
[Gomu Gomu No]
Luffy roared as he brought down a massive fist, dazzling just like the sun. The Advanced Armament Haki only made the flames on his fist more beautiful as it descended like a true sun.
Seeing this, Akainu had a serious expression on his face. He coated his hand with Armament Haki, covered it with Magma, and pushed it upward.
His fingers, shaped like a claw, turned into a large magma claw that reached the size of Luffy's fist and pierced upward.
[Red Roc]
[Hell Hound]
Boom!
