The Diary Series (#1) – Haruna
Entry #1
I don't actually know why I'm doing this.
I mean, I know a lot of people write diaries, because it helps them keep track of their day, progress, and feelings. But I don't really want to keep track of any of that.....
Anyway, there's not much in my life that I would want to look back on in the future. Well, except for Granny obviously, but I'd rather spend time with her than waste time with this.
So why am I doing this? Well, Hina-tan told me that she keeps a diary as well and wanted me to do it alongside her.
Oh, maybe I should explain who Hina-tan is? I've never kept a diary before so I don't know if that's a thing.
Well, either way, I met this adorably shy girl at the grocery store a few weeks ago and we both reached for the mint chocolate Cookie Crush! I've never seen anyone else like that flavor because they say it clashes with the core taste of the cookie shake, but those dweebs don't understand real flavors like Hina-tan and I.
We've been talking ever since, and even found out that we're going to be attending the same high school! She's been the only person outside of Granny that has made life actually fun, because with her there's no fakeness or putting on masks!
Unlike me....
I wonder how she would feel if she knew that my bubbliness was exaggerated... would she be disgusted? Disappointed? I don't know...
Arrrghhh, look at me thinking about depressing things again, this is why i didn't want to do this!
I'll stop writing for today.

Do people usually start these things with Dear Diary? That's what I read online but no way am I going to do that! I think....
Anyway, the entrance ceremony for high school was today and it was soooo fun! I'm so happy I met Hina-tan, her reactions are soooo cute! When you find a real friend, only then will you realize that everyone else were simply acquaintances that had minimal impact on your life.
I didn't even have to force my cheeriness that much, it felt natural for the first time in a while! I usually don't feel like this unless I'm with Granny...
Oh right, she introduced me to a boy today as well, her childhood friend apparently. Riku-tan was... a little odd. He's not a bad guy, but he feels like a typical 'boy', if that makes any sense...
I don't mean to be offensive, but it felt like he nailed almost every single stereotype of high school boys, both good and bad. But if Hina-tan likes him, he must be a really good person in general.
As for the ceremony itself, it was a little boring once it started because it was speech after speech after speech after speech after speech after... You get the point, it was a LOT of speeches.
But the final speech was given by the really pretty student council president. I heard from the students around us that she won the position at the end of her first year, and is now in her second year.
Like, WHAT???? I don't know much about the process, but I know that it is pretty much impossible to do something like that unless one has real skills. I wish I could care so much about something like she does...
Even now, I somehow got in by passing the entrance exam, but it took months of study and sleepless nights to prepare for it... I'm worried that I'll struggle with classes and let Granny down....
FUCK, HERE I GO AGAIN WITH THE DEPRESSIVE SHIT.
I"M DONE FOR TODAY!

Entry #8
Dear Diary,
Today was the first day of school and it went fine, I guess...
Just as I suspected, the coursework is soooo tough and I'm honestly a little scared. Granny always told me I was people-smart, not book-smart, but isn't that essentially calling me an idiot???
Hina-tan helped me occasionally during breaks if I had a question, but most of the time she was trying to teach Riku-tan. Unfortunately he didn't look like he cared and tried to brush her off but Hina-tan didn't let him go lol.
Looking at them, it feels like I'm watching a mother try to parent her child, which is kinda weird but also wholesome in a way. I wonder how he got into this school because he didn't seem like the studious type, maybe he crammed a lot like me?
I'm rooting for them to work out, it's clear that Hina-tan likes him because he's the only person other than me that she's comfortable enough to not stutter around. Well, most of the time at least.
But actually, there was something really strange that happened that I wanted to talk about. One of the students in our class is apparently the heir of a Yakuza family and a scary delinquent that likes to get into fights.
Granny told me not to judge people by how they look, but come on!! He looks like the dictionary definition of a troublemaker, with blonde hair slicked back (it looks dyed btw), so many earrings that one can barely see his actual ears, and also wears his uniform loosely and untucked!
And his expression, holy shit it feels like he's pissed at everyone and everything! He had a frown for the entire school day! It's such a shame, because he seems pretty good-looking, but it's like someone decided to fingerpaint on their phone instead of buying a pretty case.
Everyone in class looked like they were sitting on pins and needles, too scared to make eye contact or even a hint of sound around him. I wonder if my first year of high school will be this uncomfortable all the time.....
Well, with Hina-tan and Riku-tan around, I'm not too worried about not having fun. I just hope he doesn't set his eyes on us.

Dear Diary,
Today something absolutely crazy happened!! That Yakuza guy punched a senior, and I heard it was because the senior looked at him wrong? I don't even know what that means haha!
I didn't see the fight itself, but the senior ran past our classroom with a bleeding nose and it looked BAAAAAAD!
It's the second day of school for fuck's sake, how did he screw up this bad already? I don't even know how he got into Souhei High, maybe his dad pulled some strings?
He was sent to the student council president, I wonder what his punishment is going to be? He came back later with an annoyed look but didn't say anything, and everyone felt like a deer in headlights throughout the day.
Haaaa, seems like school life really will be this uncomfortable...

Dear Diary,
I've been thinking about my club choices lately. The deadline is in like two weeks, and I have no idea what to pick!!
If I had the time, I would choose two or three clubs but the clubs at Souhei are super rigorous and important so they recommend to only decide on one...
I think I might wait for Hina-tan to choose one and do the same thing as her, so that we can spend more time together at school. I hope she picks either dance, cooking, or something fun like music!
I don't exactly have a lot of cash, so I feel terrible for turning down Hina-tan and Riku-tan's invitations to hang out somewhere so often.... They like going to the movies, trying different foods, and all sorts of fun stuff.
I want to do those too, and I know Granny would give me the money if I asked her. But I also know that the debt my disgusting sperm donor left us with is getting worse and worse. I want to get a part-time job, but last time I tried that Granny got sooooooo mad!
She wanted me to focus on studies and all that, but I also want to help in some way!
Anyway, the point is that I can't spend much time with them after school, so this way I can hang out with Hina-tan without burning a hole in my pocket. I doubt that Riku-tan will choose the same as us, I think he might join the E-Sports club but wouldn't be surprised if he left the decision for the last moment.
By the way, I know I shouldn't care about things like this but it's honestly a little interesting to hear about it again and again. That delinquent got into trouble for what feels like the 100th time already, and this time he was suspended for two days! I mean, slapping the student council secretary will do that for you haha.
Not sure why he hasn't been expelled, but I'm getting more and more sure that his family is doing things behind the scenes to protect him... They're just like the debt collectors, taking advantage of their power to mistreat people and get away with it scot-free. Annoying.
Well, it shows that his parents care about him, I wonder what that feels like?
AGGGHHH NO! GRANNY IS ENOUGH FOR ME!
