Chapter 279 – The Messy Divorce

*** Alzi ***

It takes a second for me to will my eyes closed, worrying it would be Mistress who grabs me instead of the Goddess of Love.

But no, when my eyes close, I find myself in a small room. Two small desks face a larger one, which a Goddess with her perfect face is sitting behind, frowning at me.

"Yes, I am upset at this situation," the Goddess says. "I don't like when divorces happen due to differences in opinion. It points to a failure in communication, not a failure in the marriage. You could've worked it out, and yet you are here."

"I can't. I- I just can't," I say. "I want my Mommy."

"Tomorrow," the Princess says. "Tomorrow, you will have her. I'm not sure how this will go, but tomorrow, you will see your Mother. No matter what the outcome of this is, you will see her tomorrow. I promise."

"Good," the Goddess says. "Everyone is here. Let us begin. Alzi, Champion of Fertility and Sex, wishes to divorce you, Elora, Princess of Elagwyn. Is that correct?"

"Yes," I say.

"Ok, now what is the cause of this disagreement?" Love asks.

"Wait!" Fertility says. Can they come here? Should I have tried bringing my kids? "No, it was good they stayed behind."

"Fertility, this is my court."

"And this is my Champion. We have the right to help them out in matters relating to the Goddesses. This is one such occasion," Fertility says, pulling me into her breasts. "I'm sorry for not bringing Contract, but she just went to sleep, and this will get noisy, I think. Now, on to my case. This marriage was a sham from the start. My Champion was forced to say yes to your single question. No choice nor thought was given to her. Why does it require more words to correct this lie? I have little right to call other Goddesses failures, but this is clearly one. If you don't like this happening, you shouldn't have allowed the marriage."

"I saw that love could blossom between these two," Love says. "In fact, there were sparks already. Alzi cares for Elora more than she thinks."

"That..."

"Yes," Sex says. "You are divorcing more than just Elora here. You are also divorcing from my angel. Someone I put in place to help you complete your mission as my Champion. How could this be a good thing? Fertility already did enough damage to your relationship with her silly threats. What would your life with them have looked like if Isda could do her job properly? Isda cares deeply for you, my dear Champion. She gets wet at just the thought of you. If you think that disgusting demon cares for you, then what would an angel think of you?"

The Goddess of Sex walks up right behind the Princess. Her clothing is just draped over her curves, asking for me to rip them off and have my way with the bitch. A small smile grows on her face with that last thought.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

"You raped your champion!" Fertility shouts. "You raped her and now claim to care for her? Your mission would destroy Alzi!"

"Like you know what my mission is?" Sex says. "Clearly, you have no knowledge of anything. You made our Champion a target and did nothing for her. I lacked the power to step in, but I did what was needed to keep her sane through the brothel. You had the power to free her from the brothel and instead hid away. And now, you have put a target on her back, being the only woman that can easily impregnate a royal."

"That was Royalty's fault!" Fertility declares. "She could've told her Queendom about a champion being born. Done anything to help her people do the correct thing. Instead, she cowers away, hiding from the one that truly runs the Queendoms: Justice."

"Blame others," another Goddess says. "I was thinking about skipping this, but if you are going to call my name, then so be it. Alzi would be ruining a perfectly good run for the Queen for Elora. Why should she do that? Her Skills are best used at the top, not while hiding away in some cave, wondering when someone will find her and take her to the real breeding pits. Your failure is yours, Fertility. Do not push it onto me. I have to balance all of you idiots so you don't destroy the Queendoms. Not just Justice. Your absence made it easy to put your wants at the bottom of the priority list, but now, it is something I am working on including in my plans. I am being proactive; you are just reacting out of anger."

Love's perfect face is getting redder and redder, preparing to boil over as the Goddesses fight behind me and Elora. Love's eyes dart around the room, threatening death to any that catch them. Fertility's hug is the only thing keeping me standing.

Why is this so hard? I just want to leave.

"Reacting out of anger?" Fertility says, keeping her voice low. "Come over to my territory for a while, and I'll see if you have a bit of anger left in a few thousand years after I've made you birth monster after monster from your womb. Let's see if you are a little angry after 'Justice' decides a single pregnancy would make up for all that abuse. See if you have a bit of anger after they thank others for the gift you gave them. After you helped them, all you get is a passing notice as they run around for a bunch of USELESS FUCKS!" Her arm tenses under my breasts, careful to not crush me, but little else as the pressure increases.

"We all have to deal with Justice's weird rulings. You've had plenty of time to work past that anger," Royalty says.

"Oh? So you can just work past it? Good, I expect you to come by soon, and we can start. It shouldn't take long for you to get over the abuse, so why wouldn't you take me up on the offer?"

"I have things to do. I can't be your slave for a thousand years."

"Things to do? Like what? Advise the stupid Queens to do nothing while everything turns to shit?" Sex says. "You're a joke, Royalty. They're trying to make the Queens feel special. We all know you aren't what makes those idiots special."

"My advice is..."

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Love finally says. "JUST SHUT UP! DO YOU THINK I FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOUR FUCKING ISSUES? NO, I DON'T FUCKING CARE. WE ARE HERE FOR A DIVORCE, NOT YOUR PETTY ISSUES FROM A THOUSAND YEARS AGO!"

"They are hardly petty issues," Fertility says. "But yes, that is the reason I am here. To make sure you let my Champion go and have her marriages be built on love like my Chapion expected them to be and like your question wants."

"The marriage is finding a foundation of love," Sex says. "Elora loves Alzi. Otherwise, Love would have given the divorce without a trial. Then there's Isda, my Angel, who loves Alzi as well. As I was saying, she was prepared to help Alzi integrate into the family and be the liaison between her and Elora. But a jealous Goddess stopped her from helping Alzi be happy. I wonder why."

"I was keeping Alzi from becoming your slave. Your goals are destructive and go against the wants of our Champion."

"My goals align close enough to what Alzi wishes for. You just want Alzi to think you are some loving benefactor when you are the real reason she is in this mess."

"Stay on topic or fucking leave," Love says. "You are all in my domain. I can make you all into a loving little bunch that can't think of anything but making each other happy for the rest of your fucking lives!"

"That would break your own code," Royalty says. "This is a mess that would be best solved if we all stepped out of it, I think."

"How convenient," Fertility says. "Step out and leave it as is, forgetting about what my Champion wishes for. Just let her continue to be abused and taken advantage of."

"I'm not taking advantage of Alzi," Elora dares to say. "I want her to be happy. I'm marrying her Mother. She has kids on the way who she can watch grow and love. I'm trying to show my Love."

"I want out. I'm scared when I'm around you. Just let me be with my Mommy," I say, tears flowing down my cheeks. "Just let me leave."

"You will be with your Mother. I promise," Elora says. "I promise."

"See, Elora is giving Alzi what she wants," Love says. "That makes it hard to just end a marriage that can be worked out with communication and understanding."

"Alzi," Fertility says, giving me a little kiss on the horn. "Alzi has been through a lot over the last decade. I know better than anyone else in this room what she is feeling, and she needs a break. A fresh start with those who love her and show her Love today. Right now. Not months or years in the future. Right now. Alzi is shaking in my arms. Can we really ask her, force her to stay in that marriage? Elora, I do not doubt your Love, but I question your ability to show that and support Alzi in the way she needs to be. While she is with you, she will have expectations thrust upon her that she can't take right now. No, she needs a break. It's time to grow strong again. She's a fragile thing that has been tossed onto the ground a few too many times now. If you love her as you say you do, then let her go. Let her fix her issues in peace. After she is healed, we can think about marriage again if you still want it."

Elora turns to me, tears flowing down her own face as well. "Alzi, your wives can help you. They love you and can protect you. You'll have the ones you love around you, enough children to drown you in love. I promise, Alzi, that you will have the space to heal and grow with me. I promise that to you, Alzi. I will help you and give you the tools you need to regain the confidence you once had. To be the woman you always wanted to be. I helped you become a healer. You are a great one. One of the best and only getting better. I can support you in that journey. Rosemary, one of my Mothers, could help you alongside Kelly. I promise this to you, Alzi. I'm working on plans to keep you safe. Yuki and Nakuma will watch over you, and I can marry a few more wives to guard you as well. I won't trust a single convention the nobles have anymore. Our focus will be on helping you. I'll trust no one and no rule."

"I just want to go," I say. "Please, let me leave." I feel my legs give out; the only thing that keeps me standing is the strong arm of the Goddess.
