Chapter 5- Black Bounty~1!

[Unknown Location]

[06:34:56]

'Is it the end?'

I gasped to catch my breath as much as possible while trying my best to hold my ground.

The blade I am most confident in wielding was now working as a crutch to support my ragged body.

**SPRT**

Spitting the saliva mixed with my thick blood on the cold ground, which made it freeze just upon interaction, I side-glanced around the room.

My heart clenched as I saw the people I call my friend and working partners lying lifelessly on the ground while trying their best to remain alive.

Their condition was worse than mine since they used themselves as a shield to let me use the ultimate move I have nurtured until now.

But all went futile. Their sacrifice and unwavering confidence in me shattered as soon I failed to inflict damage on my enemy, resulting in their current condition.

'I am sorry, guys...'

All this happened just because of a single entity whose presence wasn't included in our intel.

From the start, we knew that rivaling a Nobel Vampire was a perk in itself, which would take my three partners and me time to attain.

The base we came to destroy today consisted of the maid and servants of the Nobel Vampire who goes with the name, Dreakward.

But something went wrong, and we were faced with the creature who was currently grinning at me with his monstrous teeth peeking out of his disgusting mouth.

"So this is the limit of a human warrior. Well, to be honest, I am a little disappointed by your performance, boy. But then again, I could not expect more from a body that does nothing but restrict your progress."

As I heard the heavy voice of the creature who was leading in a way I was greatly familiar with, I prepared myself.

Activating the relic, I have adorned on my index finger, I felt a surge of energy restored inside of it, boosting my strength.

My vision which was going blurry because of the impact I felt in the small exchange with the creatures around me, suddenly became more apparent than ever.

My consciousness became vivid with strength surging as I had a good sleep for more than a week. Gaining the boost, I didn't attack right away; even though I wanted to impale this bastard so bad.

Instead, I waited since the prey was walking in the trap by himself as he continued with his offer.

"Why don't you join me, human? Abandoning your humanity, you can gain the strength which you might not be able to attain even if you live ten times you already have. So think carefully, kid. If you join me, your women would be saved, and they also will receive their man in his absolute condition. Don't you want to see their smiles again? Don't you want to never yield in front of anyone again? Just take my hand. I will show you the world which every being desires to see...."

As he blabbered his oh-so-tempting offer, he grew closer and closer to me. And to add a perfect stage to his performance, his hand was now only a breath reach of my face.

Taking the chance which has brought his a*ss right in front of me to get whipped, I readied my sword.

'Got you!!'

**SLING**

Using the most tremendous force I have applied until now, I pulled my sword right from between his legs as I finally felt my blade slashing through his muscles.

"UOOOOOHHHH"

Using every ounce of my energy, I forced my arm to slash whatever came inside of the creature before I finally reached the point where I desired most to cross my blade.

But...

**TING**

Like the blade been stuck by another sword, my reach didn't cross the center of the creature's chest, as I felt a resistance nearly impossible to breach.

"Not so fast, boy~."

Looking stiffly toward the point where my blade was stuck, I felt the blood draining out of my shell.

The thing which abruptly halted my blade was a finger. The vampire's mere finger!!

The energy I had collected from my ring soon evaporated as this was the last thing I was able to muster in my capability.

**THUD**

Dropping to the ground, I let go of my sword since I knew it would be futile to fight further than this point.

I was done for.

"I take this attack as your rejection. Well~Its a shame I have to kill such a potential boy at such a young age. But...nevermind"

The monster was plainly amused by my pitiful condition as he threw my sword at an unknown corner like trash before I heard the movement of muscles, which probably would be the creature's self-healing ability.

It was funny how even my final blow was shooed off such casually, when I was here on the verge of vanishing from existence.

For my current situation, I don't really blame anyone but myself. The powerlessness which made me cornered to think like this, I blame for such impotence.

Looking at my partner, who would be dying just some moments after me, I felt how hopelessly I had led them until now that one unexpected situation pushed us off the edge.

Feeling the ominous energy gathering near my crown of the head, I knew the creature was planning to blast my head off.

The fear of death reverberated in my senses, but I was too paralyzed to even close my eyes as with my gaze filled with my precious memories, I wished for the last time.

'I hope we can venture on a new adventure in the next life too, my brother ...'

The haze in which my unfocused vision blurred filled my senses before I felt my mortal thread disappearing right in front of my eye...

....

....

"Hmm?"

I unintentionally let out a voice as the feeling of death nearly disappeared from my face as I slowly lifted my eyes toward the front.

"!!"

The creature who until now was only directing his disgusting smirk and was playing with the life of mine and my partners was now shivering in a fret?

And not only that, the way he moved back slowly with his eyes at his broadest reach made it clear that he was running away from something terrifying.

My sense of reasoning collapsed when I thought of the person who could make such a high-ranking vampire almost piss his pant.

Moving my head stiffly while feeling numb sensation across my every muscle, I looked over my shoulder before my eyes also went wide, just like the vampire.

Suddenly, the reason for the creature's fear seemed justifiable as I identified the entity that just has entered the scene.

'Black Bounty.'
