Chapter 4- The Vampire’s Visit~2!

'Umm...where I...'

As the platinum-haired girl tried to connect with her consciousness, she felt a massive headache weighing down her head, which signified the reason why she was groaning in pain.

The last thing she remembered was that she sucked on the single drop of blood from the person she came to hunt before...

"Hah..."

Her eyes shot wide as she finally remembered how such a thing happened to her in the first place before she heard a voice from her right.

"You awake?"

Sat there lazily was her weird classmate whom she came just to use at her disposal, but somehow things turned out in a way she never assumed in her wildest dream.

Many things went out of hand, which she didn't see coming.

First, the way, he reacted to her attempt to make him unconscious was highly terrifying, taking the inhumane speed she carries into account.

Second, the way he held her hand when she tried to protest, was in such a rigid manner that made her doubt her own strength.

Third and the most petrifying event.

The sensation she felt when the boy released his intent, made her blood dry in a fret. The loud cries of her inner self, which begged her to run away from this monstrous entity, still echoed in her senses, making her aware of what she was facing so casually until now.

But nothing of these things clarified why she fell into a dark and deep slumber just upon interacting with his blood, which eventually brought her out of her stupor too.

"You...what you did to me?!"

Checking her clothes was the first thing she did as she was aware of the numerous gaze this weird man had directed at her for quite some time since school.

Finding nothing out of the ordinary in her appearance, she heard the sneer of the raven-haired boy sitting some inches apart from her.

"Touching an unconscious girl is something a pervert will do."

Now the girl, became more certain that she had been touched in her slumber by the man, but she didn't voiced her suggestive thought as currently more than her body; she was concerned about something else.

'I definitely have become stronger...but by just a mere drop?'

Clenching her fist, she checked her pulse and the boost of strength she could differentiate before the time she fell unconscious and the current her.

"Was gaining strength your primary motive? I thought you were just having a blood thirst."

Kei extended a mineral bottle toward her, which she subconsciously received while trying to adjust to her newfound enhanced senses.

After some second, it seemed Karen remembered something before she turned herself toward Kei, hurriedly.

"Ummm...you said your name was Kei, right?"

Kei rolled his eyes, before he nodded stiffly.

"Can you give me some of your blood, please? I am in dire need of enhancing my strength, for which I could do anything you want. I-if you really want, then I can become your meat slave, but please let me have your just a small amount of blood."

Karen begged, with her eyes going moist slightly as she muttered her plea.

The reason, why she was dropping to such an extent that instead of just using a brutal method like before, she was now begging the boy, was simple.

After absorbing just a fragment of him, she became so much more powerful, and the intent he showed her some moments ago made her clear that she was far lower than the level he already had conquered.

If she had more time, then she could have gained strength by hunting, but time was the essence in the matter, and she could do anything to attain power before something irreversible takes place.

Kei on the other side, after hearing her offer along with the request, responded in a single syllable.

"No."

Karen, who had some kind of hope in the form of the black-haired high school boy, suddenly sobered up from her hopeful reverie, as her shoulder slumped down in defeat.

But Kei's following words made her aware of the fact that she neglected in the heat of her aim.

"Once you absorb more blood of mine than you already have, then be prepared to lose all the sense of your reasoning or the worst-case scenario; you might see yourself exploding as you die slowly with your eyes open."

Hearing his clear warning in such an emotionless tone, Karen bit her lips as she realized how foolishly she was behaving.

The feeling of being so powerless and losing all hopes of seeing her loved one again brought heavy tears to her eyes as she clenched her fist in agony.

Suddenly, a big warm hand landed on her head before she felt an unfamiliar yet gentle sensation from just her head getting patted.

"There, there. Don't cry now."

Looking stiffly toward the boy who was tens of years younger than her, currently acting such maturely, she became a little flustered.

"Don't *sniff* treat me as a *sniff* child."

Despite complaining, Karen accepted his pats as she wept silently the grief she had accumulated for so long.

Strangely, the hand of the person she only thought of as a weird perverted high school boy became so comforting that she felt all her worries fading at that instance.

After losing her father at a very young age, this was the first time she felt the warmth of a man who gave her a slight familial yet enthralling sensation through his touches.

Kei, wordlessly caressed her platinum hair for some time until she didn't seem to calm down a little before he handed her tissue papers.

"You okay, now?"

Asking her in a gentle tone, Kei saw her head going slightly up and down before he sighed in relief.

After some more time passed and Karen seemed to become completely fine after her griefing period, Kei brought up the matter which concerned the girl, again.

"You are aware about Ryuuta, right? Can't you take his help?"

Kei used indirect words in fear of revealing Ryuuta's secret if Karen hadn't recognized the traits, which makes Ryuuta way above a natural human.

Kei wanted to help Karen himself, but since he had the option to use his friend for a job that definitely would be related to saving someone, Kei chose to lay lazy.

"That human is strong but not on the level he can help me. And besides..."

The sneer of Karen suddenly turned slightly dark as, with a profound expression, she stated something which made Kei freeze in shock.

"...I don't think he would survive tonight's battle even being supported by those three lilies..."

Kei's eyes went wide, as he heard Karen's words loud and clear before he hurriedly held Karen's shoulder quite harshly as he asked.

"What did you just say?"

Karen winced from the pain she felt in her bones as she replied in a rush before Kei could have broken her shoulder without even noticing.

"Tonight, the place where that brown-haired boy is going with his fairies is a hideout of a Nobel Vampire. Since they have been actively destroying bases these days, someone gave them wrong intel that the high-ranked vampire wouldn't be at the base, but in reality..."

Before she could have completed her words, the pressure on her arms released in an instant before the boy who was right in front of her eyes a blink ago, disappeared from the sight.

"Shit! They all gonna die!"
