Chapter 18- I don’t know you~

"Ah~ I am stuffed."

I patted my belly twice while walking in the snowy path after leaving the Amber Mansion.

"Naomi-san was happy when you said the food was your liking."

Karen...no, Lina chimed as she also walked beside me with her hands intervened on her back and a charming smile directed at me, which seemed to melt the ice around.

Well, that was an exaggeration, but the smile was warming.

"You figured? I didn't even see her smiling tho?"

That scary maid who betrayed the lovely onee-san kind maid I had in mind was looking at me like all the misfortunes that happened in her life, were because of me.

I mean, she was totally pissed with me even though I didn't do anything....on purpose.

"Well, you won't understand until you don't spend years with her. The way she fidgeted when you complimented her was cute. Ah, that reminds me, Kei. Why did you need money so urgently like you even-handed such high-grade treasure to us?"

If I tell her the truth whether she would think of me as a lazy ass who doesn't want to work, or maybe some complexity toward the luxury?

Well, what she doesn't know is that what I gave them wasn't the only Legendary Grade I have in my inventory. Well, I could have offered them a Mythical Grade too, but looking at their expressions, I held back.

"I just require a lot of food which I cannot earn in the normal way. You saw it today, how much I eat."

I tried to play it cool since I didn't want to say that with lots of money, I would buy the volumes of my favorite manga and might support my favorite authors of novels too.

"Well, it's your matter what you do with it. I will probably liquidate the amount in three days at most."

I thanked her again since I could take advantage of Inter-Dimensional Bank through her mother.

The Bank which exchanges any currency, whether it's livestock or even a nail of a mystic being. But what requires is a decent identity to enjoy such amenities, which I didn't have.

I didn't have my background nor any clan or guild as my backing. Even if I threatened them, they would probably cease their business which definitely would not be good.

Finally, after reaching a distant point from the mansion, I halted my steps so did Karen...no Lina.

"Hey, can I call you Karen? I just like that name on you...or something like that."

I don't know, but Lina just doesn't seem to be stuck in my mind. Maybe my full belly was making my mind fuzzy. That's why I was speaking so much today.

Fortunately, looking at her expression, it didn't seem like she mind it. Maybe I indeed took a lot in today since I felt her ears were getting amber dyed too.

'Hehe~It feels nice to act like dense protag~.'

"Mm, you can, Kei-kun. Whatever feels good to you. And since I will use the same name in school too, you better not get used to my real name."

I nodded when suddenly I registered her words before turning my head toward the girl beside me.

"Wait, school? Why school, when your objective to enter the human world has already been fulfilled."

Vampires feel humans are best compatible with their nutrition. That's why she came to find the best available supplement so she could save her mom.

Well, since I met her, she didn't have to pass from one human to another.

Am I boasting on my blood now? Maybe I have eaten a little too much, hehe~

"Yeah, since I don't have many things to do here, I will stay there until graduation."

Well, it was her decision where she lived and what she does with her life, but there was one thing I would like to clarify with her before leaving.

"Karen, we are familiar, don't tell about it to others, and refrain from associating with me if possible. I don't mind if you pretend I don't exist in the class, okay?"

What I still couldn't add to my life is the spotlight.

It was nice meeting a beautiful girl like Karen and also her hot mother, but that's all. I don't want to mingle my school life with this identity or the people involved.

Karen conversing with me in the way she was now would undoubtedly bring a lot of attention to me, which I don't want at any cost.

I don't know what came over her, but a cunning smirk stretched on her lips as with her eyes curved she spoke in a slightly seductive voice?

"Don't worry, Kei-kun. I will pretend I really never met you, okay~".

**Gulp**

'Why do I have a bad feeling about this.... '
