Chapter 17- Kei’s going to be Billionaire?

After the hefty meal Kei had after such a long time, the trio moved back to the living hall as the head maid served Kei some tea and the mother-daughter duo a glass of some red wine.

Kei was surprised that even tea was organized in this world where flora doesn't exist. This much preparation takes a lot of time which made Kei realize how thoroughly hospitality has been provided.

He was somewhat overwhelmed.

"So Kei-kun, do you live in the human realm? Ah, please don't mind answering if you don't want to..."

Kei shook his head and answered in a neutral tone since he didn't feel something so trivial to hide.

"Yes, I live there. And please don't be so formal, Rita-san."

Kei was indeed awkward around people, especially when they were so beautiful and easy-going, but he just couldn't act indifferent when he already had intruded this much.

Hearing Kei's affirmation, the older her nodded slightly before she spoke again.

"I heard from Lina that it's a great place to live, isn't it?"

Kei inhaled a little deeper before an honest thought was voiced out.

"Yeah, it is. The weather is good there, and also the spring blooms....they are my favorite."

Lina instantly jolted as she also chimed in with an optimistic tone.

"Oh, I also love it. I hope I can go to see them with you....and others some days."

Lina's enthusiasm was understandable since living in a cold and colorless place like the Blood Domain, would make anyone interested if suddenly lots of shades dyed the surrounding.

'She said 'other,' but does she knows anyone tho...? '

His train of thoughts broke abruptly when Rita's slightly heavy voice reached up to them.

"A piece of advice, Kei-kun. Please stay a little more alert since something massive would be happening every now and then in the Human world."

Kei's brows frowned slightly as he fixed his gaze toward his front and found that the woman had a severe expression currently, signifying that she wasn't in the mood to joke at all.

Lina also became slightly tense because of the sudden shift of conversation as she asked her mother.

"Did something happen, mom?"

With her voice still somewhat heavy, Rita leaned back on the sofa as she informed the two about what had recently been going around the underworld.

"You both know the entity called Black Bounty, right?"

Kei's almost coughed on his drink as he heard the name but looking at Rita's still, unwavering expression, which told him she wasn't faking being oblivion about Bounty Hunter's true identity, he collected himself.

Lina also became a little flustered, but she didn't let her expression become apparent as she spoke in a neutral tone.

"That infamous hunter who kills anyone randomly, right?"

Kei felt like protesting when she said, 'Kills anyone.' But upon closer reflection, he indeed killed anonymously, just on a whim in the past, so Lina's conclusion, despite being cruel, was still valid.

"I also have heard some rumors."

Kei played it safe since he wasn't sure what Lina had told her mother about his identity. He just couldn't pretend to be an average human now, could he?

"There is a human boy who has gained popularity recently because he has come in contact with Black Bounty but still remained alive. Well, from my perspective, that boy has just said a plain lie, but there are many who think that the boy is now allied with Bounty Hunter, and so they will go after him with the motive to take him as a hostage or just straightforwardly kill him in hatred toward the hunter."

Lina was only glancing at Kei's expression since she, as well as him, had an idea of whom her mom was talking about and how much this person was important to Kei.

But to be on the safe side, Lina asked the detail herself since it didn't seem Kei would have raised more queries on this matter since it might have raised issues on high-schooler identity?

"Hey, mom....do you know about this human. I am kinda interested since Black Bounty interfered and all.".

Lina sounded natural, but Kei knew that she was helping him affirm the matter to have a greater grip on the scenario he himself had created.

"Well, I also got interested, that's why I made some investigation and found that the boy is named Ryuuka..or Ryuuta something. The most significant fact about this boy is the Tsurugi katana he was able to lift, which the first hero of the Human realm wielded. Apart from this slightly standing out fact, I didn't find much."

Kei's expression didn't change evidently, but he felt a little guilty for pushing Ryuuta to such an edge where his life could be ceased anytime without him even knowing.

There are countless beings who were after Black Bounty in one way or another, and if his association with Ryuuta was known by Rita, then it was no wonder there must be people too who know about it.

'Pulling from a hole, I pushed him off the clip. '

Kei sighed under his breath since there was no point thinking about it now when he was here.

"Anyway, just drop those depressing talks. Kei-kun, want to accompany us to an auction? You might find something useful there?"

Rita just wanted to gift some artifacts and weapons, which Kei likes in the auction, as a gift of her gratitude. Since the Human world was going to be chaotic in the upcoming future, the treasure might become helpful for him.

But Kei's thought wandered in a completely different direction as he asked something he was completely unaware about.

"This auction..would thereby weapons and artifacts be on display?"

Rita blinked twice before nodding in a slight perplexion as she saw the shine in Kei's eyes.

"Rita-san, please excuse me for being rude, but can I ask what grade of treasures generally be auctioned and also, if you don't mind can you tell their price?"

Lina also became dumbfounded since Kei got out of his serious demeanor too fluently.

Rita, despite being a little confused, told the basic knowledge of what she knew about typical auctions.

"Well, the bidding would start from Classless resources, and as I have been informed, there would be four legendary items, too, included on the counter today. And if it's about the price then-"

"Ah, mom, wait. Kei-kun would probably better understand if it's in monetary terms."

Lina interrupted her mother since the funds in the blood domain are basically live stocks, and these stocks belonged to the same world where Kei lives, so Lina thought it would be uncomfortable for him to know that.

But Lina didn't know that Kei was already aware of such a fact. However,  he chose to let her speak since Kei also wanted to know the price, which would make sense for him.

"Let's see if a Legendary Grade of Gold Rank is equivalent to 200, then hmm... It will be around 10 million yen Kei-kun."

Lina said in a round figure with the amount she would get if the livestock gets exchanged for money at the Inter-dimensional Bank¹, but looking at Kei's expression, she thought that he had just lost his something just now.

"K-Kei-kun?"

Kei stiffly turned toward Lina before he asked in a robotic tone.

"Hey, Lina, what would be the price of a Gold Rank Mythical Grade?"

Suddenly the two ladies gasped in astonishment as upon hearing the grade Kei uttered about. Even the indifferent Naomi became baffled as she glanced at the raven-haired man in shock.

"Gold rank in mythical grade! I can't even imagine! Mom,  do you have any idea?"

Rita was also in great fluster, but soon she got out of her daze and spoke in an absent tone.

"I am not sure since a Mythical weapon hasn't appeared this hundred of years, but in rough figures, I think it might exceed the livestock our whole clan including the territories."

There was a clear look of disbelief on Lina's face as she muttered under her breath subconsciously.

"It's around 20k...."

Now Kei becomes stunned since he ran a basic calculation and found what he might gain if he sold one of the materials which have been dusting in his inventory.

'Am I going to be a fucking billionaire?! '
