Chapter 285: It was excellent cooperation.

--Thursday, July 9, 2172

Thanks to the new security protocol implemented by Nezu, everyone entered UA without running into any journalists. It was at that moment Nemuri looked at Kai, who had the two cats on his shoulders, and commented with a subtle smile.

“Well, first I'll stop by the teachers' lounge, though I have a couple of free hours in the morning, so I'll come by your workshop later.”

“Okay.”

Kai nodded casually while watching Nejire act stealthily to catch Tama off guard. But before she could succeed, the white cat jumped and hit her face with its fluffy tail, then landed on Kai's head and meowed, seeming arrogant.

“Tama, come with me, I'll give you lots of sweets!” While Nemuri and Kai were laughing, Nejire commented with puppy-dog eyes, looking at Tama, who simply meowed and turned around, giving her its back.

“Kai…”

Seeing that her weapons didn't work on the white cat, Nejire quickly turned and looked at Kai, making an adorable pout. The blue-eyed young man couldn't help but laugh a little and replied amusedly.

“For now, it's better she stays with me, you know why. As soon as we understand the circumstances better, I'll let you take her.”

“You promise?” Nejire asked, making a pitiful pout, to which Kai nodded confidently.

“I promise.”

The moment Kai spoke, Nejire's expression transformed into a huge smile, and she quickly commented while running away.

“Then it's fine! See you at home; I have to go to the agency today!”

“See, you've already taught Nejire your dirty tricks.” Kai couldn't help but comment with an accusatory tone to the amused Momo, who covered her mouth to laugh a little and replied in a playful tone.

“Actually, it was Nejire Onee-chan who taught me my entire arsenal.”

“Hurry up, or you'll be late.” At that moment, Nemuri commented with a smile while walking away, which wiped the smile off Momo's face. She quickly grabbed Kai's arm and ran towards class.

“Come on, Kai! As the class representative, I can't be late!”

Somewhat amused, Kai followed the hurried Momo and soon arrived in front of the UA classroom, getting there just moments before Aizawa, who couldn't help but look at Kai for a few seconds before entering the classroom. With a red face, embarrassed by the lateness, Momo entered the classroom holding Kai's hand. With hurried steps and her head bowed, she reached her seat.

Almost the moment Momo and Kai sat down, Aizawa began making various announcements, something Kai ignored while concentrating on reviewing the data Sage was compiling from Tama and displaying on holographic screens in [In] mode.

But, although he was concentrated on reading, it was inevitable for him to notice that all the students were looking at him with different expressions, from curious to serious. Even Bakugo looked at him with a mix of hatred and suspicion. At the same time, especially the girls, looked curiously at the white cat alongside Salem on his desk, who looked around curiously while Salem annoyingly pushed his tie aside to sleep.

Not long after, Aizawa finished his duties as homeroom teacher, so Kai quickly got up to leave, not wanting to face the curiosity written on everyone's faces. But at that moment, Aizawa turned to look at him and commented in his typical tired voice.

“Saito, Principal Nezu expects to see you after lunch.”

“Understood.” Kai nodded casually while walking towards the exit, the moment Salem and Tama jumped onto his shoulders under the curious gaze of all the students.

…

In the workshop, Kai sat in front of his computer with a strong coffee in hand while Tama and Salem lay down on Salem's large bed in the office. After taking a big sip of coffee, Kai let out a tired sigh but soon recomposed himself and opened several programs on his computer while communicating with his reliable assistant.

[How is Mrs. Yoshiko doing, Sage?]

[For now, everything is fine. I'm tracking her location in real time with satellites and expanded the security perimeter around the cruise ship and haven't found anything strange, and none of the defensive swords have activated.] The beautiful fairy replied while landing on Kai's now-free shoulder, who nodded satisfied and asked.

[Did anything strange happen at home during the attack?]

[No, master. The security system didn't detect anything, and Salem was also patrolling the forest and surroundings but didn't find anything strange either.] Sage shook her head and replied while creating several pop-up screens on Kai's screen, who nodded and asked seriously.

[Any strange movements on the network or anything like that?]

Sage seemed to think for a few moments before creating more pop-up screens on Kai's screen with different videos, social media accounts, and written media.

[Nothing particularly strange, master. The only thing is that a journalist in one of the helicopters managed to recognize you by your swords and announced it with great fanfare on her medium, and several others replicated it. Currently, there are rumors everywhere that you are the mysterious man in black who fought alongside All Might, but there are equally many denying it, and on social media, there's a fan fight about it.]

“Speak of the devil…” At that moment, Kai looked up from his screen to look at the door, which not long after automatically opened, revealing the Symbol of Peace on the other side.

With wide steps, All Might entered the workshop and then sat in the chair in front of Kai's desk. But unusually, the Symbol of Peace remained silent, almost as if considering his words, so Kai stayed quiet, sipping his coffee little by little. After a few seconds, All Might looked at Kai and asked in a serious tone.

“Was what happened on your side resolved?”

“Luckily, I arrived in time, and nothing major happened.”

Kai nodded and commented in a calm tone while putting his cup down on the table. All Might nodded seriously, then took a deep breath. Immediately after, the Symbol of Peace bowed his head and spoke with a serious and resolute voice.

“Thank you very much, Kai-shonen. Only thanks to you was I able to face All For One and didn't have to burden young Midoriya with such a heavy responsibility on his shoulders. I am truly in your debt. If you ever need me for something in the future, I will do everything possible to help you.”

“I've already told you this once, but the only thing I need is for you to keep being a hero, All Might. At the end of the day, my only interest is keeping my loved ones happy and safe, and your presence helps a lot. Besides, I'm also aware that I'm not the most 'reliable' person in your eyes, so I won't ask you to help me with anything in particular either. You can continue being the hero you always were.

“Although, if you feel indebted, there is something you can do to help me that doesn't go against any of your principles. I don't know if you noticed, but it seems someone wants a piece of me, and I still have no idea who it is. So, if at some point it's necessary, I hope you can lend me a hand to protect my family. That's the only thing I hope for from you as thanks.”

“You can be sure I will.” All Might looked up and confidently looked directly into Kai's eyes, who smiled calmly and extended his hand in a handshake gesture while commenting.

“It was excellent cooperation.”

“I would really love to see you become a hero, Kai-shonen.” All Might quickly and firmly shook Kai's hand and nodded with his typical hero smile, to which Kai shook his head and replied while releasing All Might's hand.

“I really don't want to get involved in all that, much less patrol; it's a waste of time. Although, as you know, my goals are to keep my family safe and find a good fight from time to time. So, if you run into someone problematic, you can look for me.”

“Speaking of which, Kai-shonen, I'd like to ask you to stay alert regarding All For One. I once thought I had finished him off, and he ended up reappearing, so I'm worried it might happen again.” All Might commented in a serious tone, to which Kai nodded and replied calmly.

“I understand. I'll keep an eye out.”

After discussing a few more things regarding AFO, to which Kai always replied in a calm but serious tone, All Might nodded satisfied, then got up and walked towards the exit while commenting in a relieved and confident voice.

“Well, Kai-shonen, I have some things to take care of. See you later. Again, thank you very much.”

Kai waved his hand softly and started working again, reading Sage's reports at high speed while writing code. After a while, Kai took a cup of coffee that floated towards him, courtesy of Sage, and commented in a serious tone through his mental connection with his assistant.

[There really are many similarities between the spider's genetic code and All For One's… Do you think it's a coincidence, Sage?]

[I highly doubt it, master. There are also coincidences in another genetic code I've been reconstructing recently.] Sage, sitting on Kai's shoulder, commented in a serious tone at the same time as data appeared on Kai's computer. After a quick review, Kai couldn't help but open his eyes and ask in surprise.

[Whose genetic code is this?]

[The monster woman from the spider island. Although at the time we didn't have the opportunity to gather much data on her, when that strange quirk tried to infect us, while I was avoiding it, I collected all the data I could. Recently, I managed to organize and reconstruct it approximately.]

[Well done, Sage… I had already given up on that data; you're the best.] Kai turned to look at the beautiful fairy on his shoulder, who couldn't help but look away and reply, embarrassed but undeniably happy.

[You praise me too much, master… It wasn't much.]

[No, it was a lot. With this and Tama, we might finally be able to discover how exactly quirks form in other people and, from that, fundamentally improve the quirks of everyone in the family. You're the best, Sage.] Kai commented with a smile, to which Sage bowed her head even more and, almost steaming from the head, replied in an embarrassed tone.

[Thank you, master…]

[Thank you.] Kai replied with a smile and quickly began reviewing the data in detail, which allowed Sage to calm down and soon begin actively participating in the review.

…

After a while, Kai leaned back in his chair and took a sip of coffee while looking at the door, which soon opened, revealing Nemuri on the other side carrying a small bag. With a small, sensual smile, Nemuri began walking towards Kai, swaying her hips, which propelled her already supernatural attractiveness to a new level, and soon arrived in front of him. Once in front of Kai, Nemuri moved her beloved's chair to make room and quickly sat on his lap, initiating a tender kiss.

“Are you very busy, darling?”

“I was working on something, but it's not urgent. Do you need something?” Kai asked curiously while looking at Nemuri, who showed him a beautiful smile and began stroking his cheek while speaking.

“Yes, I need something very important. Since the USJ incident, I've been very busy and couldn't pamper my Kai as I should, so I need to make up for it.”

“Oh, really? And how are you going to pamper me?” Kai asked, half amused, half curious, looking at Nemuri, who quickly got up, took his hand to make him stand, and commented cheerfully.

“For now, I'll give my Kai, who has worked so hard, a massage.”

“When did you learn to give massages?”

Kai asked, even more curious, while Nemuri guided him to the workshop's lounge. The beautiful heroine, without turning to look at her beloved, replied in a playful voice.

“I've been reading a bit and watching some videos, fufu.”

“So you're going to practice on me.” Kai couldn't help but reply amusedly the moment Nemuri arrived in front of the lounge sofa and, with a quick movement, turned it into a bed, then looked at Kai and commented with a smile.

“Don't worry, I'm confident.”

Under Kai's skeptical gaze, Nemuri opened the small bag she had brought, from which she took out several lotions and oils, which she left on the coffee table. Immediately after arranging everything, Nemuri removed the top part of Kai's uniform and made him lie face down, the moment she sat straddling him.

Using all her body weight and activating her [Vital Reactor] a bit to be able to loosen Kai's excessively hard muscles, Nemuri began massaging Kai's back with dedication, causing him to let out an involuntary moan. Surprised and pleased, Kai couldn't help but look at Nemuri over his shoulder and comment with a smile.

“You're very good. I've never felt this good with a massage before…”

“I'm glad you like it, but don't be too surprised yet; we're just getting started.” Nemuri commented with a smile, then began firmly massaging Kai's incredibly tense shoulders, causing him to let out another muffled moan.
