Chapter 8.5: A Fox and Demon
"That was not a normal high-tier wolf..."
Both Demigora and Kit had come out with Victor, keeping the rest at the house to keep an eye on Simon and the new feral monster girl. The chance of something bad happening to Simon was next to nothing if that was all. It would also give him a taste of how feral monster girls acted, both within monster girls' expectations.
But her demon's hackles were raised when she noticed the black tattoo bands around the wolf girl. She could not feel any magic at all coming off the black bands, but she was from the infernal realm and she had seen such magic before, once. But it was very very powerful magic and even the hint of that being what she thought it was made her wary.
"Oh. Whatever do you mean?" Kit asked being unusually sweet as she playfully hopped next to Demigora.
Demigora did not realize she was speaking out loud, she turned to the second oldest member of their party who outstripped Victor by a couple of centuries but was still not even half her age of herself.
"Those bands are not normal." She spoke out to get his attention as well, but he seemed to be lost in thought.
"Oh... Hmm... I see... By the way Demi. Can I make a deal with you?" Kit asked playfully.
This confused Demigora but her nature made such a thing very desirable, even more than worry for Victor if something happened to their son. To her, it would just result in a century or two of heartache at most and while she would prefer to avoid such an outcome if possible but it was not that high on her priority list, at the top was the transformation of Victor into a [demon king].
"Alright. What are the conditions?"
"I will tell you some secrets but they cannot be repeated in any shape or form, using any medium, directly or indirectly and I can magic you if you break it. So... will you take it?"
Demigora once more looked at Victor but he seemed uncaring so she shrugged and agreed. Despite how many people would think, there were a lot of leeways to wriggle in that magical contract. She suspected there was some extra trick at play and the 'magic you' part was very suspicious but both were sisters to the same tamer, at the end of the day she could not be harmed in any way by Kit.
"{I ACCEPT}"
She felt the weight of the contract instantly but this was a one-way contract as there was no obligation on the other side once the information was given. Of course, the contract became void if no 'new' information was shared, a straightforward trick to weasel out of deals.
Kit started playfully bouncing from foot to foot as she grinned at Demigora and came up to her, her tails waving in the air being the more noticeable outcome as had most of her body's volume.
She came very close to one of her pointed elfin purple ears as she whispered.
"The wolf I got for Simon is a Fenrir."
The eyes of the demon widened in shock as she shouted.
"Impossible!"
Victor was still just minding his own business.
"Uh-Uh, you promised..." Kit said playfully as she bounced away.
Demigora did not care, the clause stipulated that she would 'magicked' if she broke the contract which made breaking a non-issue. She shouted at Victor and tried to activate her bond only to find herself unable to do anything.
Kit sighed as she looked at Demigora as she would a petulant child.
"Well. I should have expected as much. For a 'scheming' demon you are quite dumb."
"What do you fucking mean! You fucking brought a Fenrir, a fucking Fenrir into the house! That thing can fucking kill us all!" Demigora shouted hysterically, all form of decorum lost in translation.
Kit only crossed her arms under her arms.
"That is like saying a baby wielding [Longinus] can technically kill us all. Besides she is under a [Divine Seal] and is practically harmless."
"I knew there was something off about those fucking bands! Where the fuck did you get magic strong enough to [Seal] a fucking Fenrir."
"I did it myself."
This made Demigora stop entirely, a feeling of absolute dread replacing the panicked confusion.
"What?"
"The spell is mine."
Demigora did not want to say the next few words because it would make her fears a reality but morbid curiosity won out.
"But to seal a legendary monster capable of tearing apart the very fabric of reality..."
The demon could not continue the statement but Kit finished for her.
"The one performing the spell needs to be akin to a 'god'."
As she said so her tails fanned about around her showing them off to the demon, all ten of them. With it, an overwhelming presence bore down on her threatening to consume her whole.
Demigora's instinct was to run, to grab Victor and run. Get banished to the infernal realm and be free of the monster that was standing in front of her. Only the omnipotent power of the bond they shared kept her steady.
Kit huffed in annoyance.
"Well, you are too scared shitless to continue that delectable conversation so I will fill in the blanks. First why? That fault lies with you. You want to turn Victor into a [demon king] and the original contract between the two of you makes that an inevitability. Victor wants his son to be the one to slay him and I want a good game. Certain victory is way too boring, so here we are."
Demigora finally found her voice. The first thing she wanted to do was argue, to resist the calamity that stood in front of her in any way.
"The [Divine Seal] will not change the essence drain of a legendary high-tier monster... Simon will die..."
"If he does, he was not worthy to challenge our Victor. So win-win." She said casually.
"Oh and I believe our conversation must come to an end, Victor is calling for us into our gear form. Also, I [Bind] you to [Forget]. Normally I can't do this, but you accepted so yay."
The world around them shattered.
The next thing Demigora knew she was at Victor's hip not as a hot monster girl but as a deadly blade. He had come out to hunt for a demon to take home and Demigora was excited, she was about to take the next step in her grand plan.
