Chapter 103.5: A thoughtful flower
Flora might have fucked up a tad. If for nothing else, the fact that her precious delectable brimming with potential master was mad at her was reason enough. But she could hardly be blamed. In fact, she felt it to be necessary.
It did not matter that her heart felt like it would rip out of her chest when she felt his distress. She was a legendary monster. Unlike the others, she could resist the overwhelming need to keep Simon happy. Did she enjoy it?
Absolutely not!
She would rather have her tree burnt to the ground repeatedly than suffer through his hurt. The resonance of the bond was no joke and it was little wonder why monster girls were so on board with anything and everything their Tamer even if it was to his detriment.
But she needed to do this. She needed to make sure Simon became a being to rival a [Great Hero]. And he already had a head start, both the wolf girl and cat girl were epic monsters and she was supposedly mythic(she had yet to figure out just what her epic ability was). As long as she heavily moderated his team, Simon would become a [Great Hero] by virtue of his bonds alone.
Thankfully, she did not need to eliminate the useless golem or ascend her into a legendary monster. The latter was something she would always have to consider regardless of how difficult that path would be given the power behind the super Tamer.
Over the last couple of months, Flora was no closer to figuring out just what that voice was, outside the fact that the being was without a fraction of a doubt a divine entity. A fucking tier 8 mythic monster, the last time one of those came into existence the single most devastating event in human history happened.
'The Final Twilight', Flora had lived through that, she was keenly aware of the power the voice most likely held. She could create miracle bonds, one of the rarest and most precious experiences of any Tamer, an easy-on-demand skill.
Flora even had an inkling that the voice lied when it said it could not do so anymore. It gave the impression of a trickster which made her weary of anything the voice said. Even more reason to empower their master as much as possible.
To that end, she was very thankful that the fateful encounter removed the golem, it was one less headache on her mind. And she had no end of those, in fact, a big reason she could not intervene for her master during the delve before the appearance of the 'anomaly' was because of the entity.
She was a very old being who had been teaching at Planar University for a while, bending a couple of rules would have been easy. But she found herself unable to do anything at all ever since they delved into the dungeon, it was as if her power was blocked. She knew of only three beings in the entirety of Planar University that could do it and she was one of them. Just another reminder of what she was planning for.
Flora looked on at her master who was petting his overpampered wolf girl. She both hated and loved this scene. Hated it because both Amy and Stella needed to grow up and fast. As they were now, dragging them into her plan was only telling Simon of her hidden schemes and she loved his childish innocence. It had already corroded heavily in the last couple of months and she did not want to add any more weight on those young shoulders. He deserved to have fun and just be a happy Tamer.
That meant his monster girls needed to pick up the slack to protect as much of that innocence as they possibly could.
Amy was both detrimental and extremely important to this end. Simon held powerful childish affection for the wolf girl and Flora was sure a part of why he recoiled at the norm was due to him using Amy as an example. This Flora loved, she would be over the moon if this affection morphed into some form of conviction.
On the flip side, Amy was taking extreme advantage of their master and had not grown even a fraction. In fact, outside of her devotion to their master, she was pretty much a feral monster girl using the 'feral logic'. Fixing her would be a long-term project. But being patient was something she was very good at.
She would pull the strings till the desired outcome was achieved.
Once Simon became the unstoppable powerhouse she knew him to be. She would tell him everything, all her schemes, all her lies, all of it. And whatever punishment she would have to endure she would take it with pride.
That was her devotion and Amy needed to get on her level.
