Chapter 100: The unfettered power of a legendary monster girl
Five seconds was a short amount of time. You could count that using nothing but the fingers on one of your hands.
But it could also be an eternity, especially for beings who could move faster than people could blink.
Right now too many things had happened in so tiny a timeframe that he could not even begin to comprehend the severity of the scene before him.
He was in the arms of Stella, a distance away from the monster that slaughtered his team and had her fearsome grasp around his neck. Simon wondered if Stella had been a moment would he still be alive right now?
He was not sure. But his actual team had come out, Amy was in her massive wolf form glaring at their assailant with Flora right next to her. Her hands, eyes, and hair glowed in a green fluorescent light.
Stella cradled him in her arms as she stood in the back ranks, her eyes glowing in rage. A low hiss escaped her lips as her arms gripped him tighter.
"Oh shit... Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit! Dude! Are you alive?!?"
It was the words of the Tamer that jump-started Simon's sensibilities and his thoughts came back to himself.
And then came a turbulence of emotions as his mind finally caught up to what just happened.
For the briefest of moments, he was quiet as everything slowly hit. Then like a bursting spell, his emotions blew up.
"What... the... FUCK!?!"
He yelled at the top of his lungs.
Stone was dead.
The thought enraged him. Bitsy, Purr, or Liz did not even come into his thoughts at the moment. The thought of something that was about to be his getting ripped from him did, and the feeling generated one very dark and very pure emotion. Wrath.
The completely humanoid monster girl disappeared.
Faster than a blink a shadow came over him, completely human fingers inches from his face.
Blood splattered onto his extremely handsome face as he took in the form in front of him.
Amy had a hole through her body as she hung limply off the arm of the monster girl. Vines had wrapped all the other limbs seemingly restricting her movements. Their opponent seemed to be utterly unbothered by the move, however, as she only tilted her head in confusion.
"Sarah! Please calm down! That is just another Tamer he means no harm! Please come back to me!"
The Tamer seemed to be almost sobbing now as he desperately tried to calm the monster girl down.
Simon heard multiple tears and a thud as Amy's body fell on the floor in front of him, and all the vines were ripped off. The monster girl was now again next to their Tamer, their arms wrapped around them in a hug while rubbing her cheeks to his. It was as though Simon was so beneath the monster girl that she did not even consider them a threat.
The shock almost bled back into anger at that realization but Simon held himself back this time as he tried to calm himself.
He had no idea what that absurd monster girl was but one thing was certain. He was nowhere near a match for something that dangerous.
He felt a calm wave wash over him almost immediately, bleeding away the excess and allowing his normal more critical non-battle self to come back to the forefront. The first thing it told him was to check on Amy.
He turned a worried look to Amy who had an actual hole through her torso. However, somehow she was fine. In fact, she was already trying to get back on her feet as the wound rapidly closed.
Since the problem was solving itself he turned to the other much more pressing issue.
Without the veil of anger, he was able to properly assess exactly what was going on.
The Tamer did not look hostile, in fact, he looked even more scared of his monster girl than Simon himself internally felt at her overwhelming presence.
The guy was frozen in place due to fear.
This time Simon asked in a much more gentle voice.
"Are you alright?"
"No..." said the Tamer, his voice laced with an extreme dose of fear and worry. The super monster girl had no opinion of this it seemed as she started to trail a series of kisses on the Tamer.
Simon immediately identified what was about to happen and he did not want to watch an impromptu feeding session. Such activities held no weight in his mind.
"Ok... Why are not teleporting out?" he asked.
"Lost my card when I got my card and the teleporter did not appear when she beat the mini-boss."
The Tamer said in a very low voice as if scared to anger the monster girl acting so enamored with him.
A lot of alarm bells started going off in his head and the first thing he thought of was to teleport out using his escape crystal. Finally, Flora decided to speak up.
"Simon. Let him have your escape crystal."
"What???"
