A desperate situation
Previously, a mysterious shadow attacked an innocent family, taking control of the mother's body to force a battle to the death between mother and son... which led to the inevitable defeat of our fierce protagonist (a baby).
Now, defeated and lying on the floor (in his crib), he discovers the shocking truth behind this world, leaving him utterly stunned.
Wait a second, Mireya!
NOOO!!
HOW ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO HANDLE THIS TRUTH, KNOWING WHAT KIND OF WORLD THIS IS!!?
If it were a romantic comedy, a fantasy isekai, or even a battle shonen, I would be more than thrilled!
But no...
Out of all the thousands of worlds I could have reincarnated into, I had to end up in this exact one!
What's the problem with this place, you ask?
Hmm...
Let me think for a second...
ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!
Alright, listen. Stories usually follow a linear plot that goes from point A to point B, but the author of the work this world is based on—some guy nicknamed "The Seer"—created a book in an anthology format with self-contained erotic chapters. Which doesn't sound so bad at first glance, right?
Well... that would be true if it weren't for the small, minuscule, utterly insignificant detail that absolutely all of his stories have a dark and twisted theme!
A world where getting a happy ending is practically impossible!
Let me give you a clear example. In the current situation, according to the plot of this chapter, an elegant woman from a wealthy family (my mother, by the way) is possessed by the ghost of her former high school stalker. The guy, having never received a shred of affection, developed a sick hatred toward happy families and especially toward the most popular girl in his class (yep, you guessed it, my mother).
So, after obtaining a strange possession drug, he turned into a ghost and took control of her body, using it to indulge his most perverted desires without caring about her reputation or image. By the end of the story, the guy ends up hopelessly obsessed with his own son and, upon discovering the boy has a girlfriend, brutally stabs him to death. Afterward, he runs naked through the streets covered in blood until he's arrested, finally releasing the woman but leaving her life in complete ruins...
And yeah, the last scene of the book, where a first-time mother enters the cell with her newborn baby to repeat the cycle, still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it...
And do you know what the funniest part of all this is?
That isn't even close to being the darkest story that author ever wrote!
Why couldn't he just settle for giving it a simple supernatural twist and calling it a day?
Instead, he used the anthology format to cram in all sorts of depressing erotic tales, mixing all kinds of themes and turning this world into a chaotic mess where everything looks fine on the outside, but is completely rotten on the inside.
With a picture like this, my chances of surviving here are...
RIDICULOUSLY LOW!!!
