DxD 0038: The Boosted Gear

Just as the busty Fallen Angel flew into the air, Abaddon cast the magic circle that he’d already prepared beforehand. The sudden flare of magic was unable to hide from the senses of the angel even with his camouflage as she turned to him with surprise on her face. Ready for combat as she summoned a light spear.

Though that was all she could do before she was completely immobilized. Chains extended out of the magic circle and wrapped around her wrists and arms, holding them above her head while making her drop the light spear. At the same time, another chain extended out of the circle and wrapped around her wings, leaving her at the mercy of the chains, floating a few hundred meters in the air.

“Let me go, devil!” She shouted but Abaddon didn’t reply as another chain wrapped around her mouth forming a gag of sorts as she could only release unintelligible words.

At the same time, a flash of light appeared beside him and he heard, “You seem to be having fun…” Rias teased him, glancing at the tied-up angel who seemed half naked. “You planning to fuck her to submission?” She asked casually.

“Fuck her to death, more like. I’m not really that interested in anything but her body and dressing sense.” He told Rias in a casual tone that made the Fallen Angel develop a horrified expression on her face.

“I sometimes forget that you’re a devil who’s actually grown up with the actual customs of the old devils…” Rias commented with a shudder as she felt a shiver go down her spine when hearing him casually talk about fucking someone to death.

“Nah, you’re just too sheltered from devil society.” He shrugged as he pulled the Fallen Angel’s chains, bringing her closer to him. He rubbed his thumb against her chin, getting some of the drool that was escaping out of her mouth on his thumb, “Disgusting,” He looked at her with an expression that humiliated her while making her fume with a fit of pure burning anger as she struggled while trying to summon her holy magic unsuccessfully.

“These chains have a nice sealing power.” He smirked at her, “I’ll deal with you later. I have a nigh dead man’s sacred gear to take.” He said before casting a circle in front of her face. Instantly, the fallen angel went unconscious.

“Rias, would you please be a dear and take this piece of sexy meat to some sort of dungeon or prison in the school?” He asked her politely. “I’ll throw her in the dungeon that I put there for the sake of aesthetics. But it’s not that secure of a room.” She told him, grabbing the chain that he offered to her.

“Don’t worry, these chains are impenetrable for her. Just put her in a place where she can’t get access to anything dangerous.” He told her and she nodded.

“Are you really going to kill the kid?” She asked with a pitiful gaze toward the pathetically dying kid down on the ground who was put in a state of magically induced stasis by Abaddon. He wanted to peacefully capture a crow without having to hurry unnecessarily.

“You’re very compassionate, Rias…” Abaddon smiled gently at her, “I’ll let him live if his reply impresses me. I can wait until his natural death to get the sacred gear… I mean, I have all the time in the world…” He said to Rias who smiled beautifully at him.

“Thank you… I mean it.” She said with a smile on her face.

“I’d like a more… physical show of gratitude if that’s okay with you.” He said deviously.

“You little…” She trailed off as she cast a teleportation circle before disappearing. Though just before she disappeared, Abaddon felt faint wetness on his cheek along with the distinct feel of lips. She’d just kissed his cheek.

‘Damned tease…’ He thought playfully with an indulgent smile before turning his gaze toward the dying pervert and descending close to him as he dispelled the spell that was keeping him in stasis, letting the natural course of his death progress. Though he cast a spell to temporarily rejuvenate his mind to that he could talk to the kid.

“Ugh…” Issei released a hoarse groan as he noticed a black presence descending toward him, ”Are you here to take my soul?” He said with pauses.

“You can say that…” Abaddon was dressed as a grim reaper with a dark cloak and a scythe. ‘Let’s hope that I don’t piss off the real grim reapers with this…’ He thought jokingly.

“You’re dying an unfair death at the hands of one of the members of the supernatural community. I have been assigned to process you. Do you have any last wishes?” He said in an almost bored tone as if he’d been doing this for his whole life. Though he was crackling up inside.

“Wha-what?” Issei was confused. “I don’t have all day, kid. Do you have any last wishes? I’m not asking again.” Abaddon acted impatiently.

“B-Boobs…” He said with passion oozing out of his weak tone, “Rias Gremory’s boobs…” Issei restated.

Abaddon was genuinely annoyed at this kid and had already given him a death sentence for aiming at his cousin, “Yeah, don’t we all, kid. But that’s not possible. She’s one of the heiresses of the devil royal clans. Your wish is impossible.” He told him.

“Then you might as well kill me…” Issei was demotivated. “What the hell, kid? Don’t you have some family or something you want to have us take care of?” Abaddon said with disbelief.

“I guess… I would like my parents to be able to have another child after my death… I’m an only child who was born after two miscarriages. I always hoped to have a sibling…” Issei went on about his backstory.

‘All right, tune it out… Never listen to the sob story of someone you’re about to ‘kill’…’ Abaddon actively made an effort to tune out the story.

“…There was this old man who once helped me out and gave me a magazine to read… I guess that was the catalyst for the spiral of perversion that I went down…” Issei finished as Abaddon paid attention to him again.

“Here you go. Put some of your blood on this contract with the intention of accepting the conditions for your wish.” He put a contract under Issei’s bloody hand.

“Can I read it first?” Issei asked.

“You won’t be able to understand the language. But the gist is that you are allowing the house of Bael to process your soul in exchange for us fulfilling your wish. We can’t really lie to you about the contract or else its effects would be negated.” He lied to Issei about the penalty as quite a few provisions made the contract air-tight in Abaddon’s favor.

“Whatever…” Issei dripped his blood on the contract with his vision darkening as he closed his eyes and fell limply to the side.

“Finally…” Abaddon muttered as he felt weird. Issei’s death wasn’t in his hands, but he was responsible for it nonetheless.

‘Even after Rias asked me not to kill him, I still let him die… I was greedy.’ Abaddon felt a little confused as he was feeling slightly bad about not keeping his word to Rias but also elated about something else.

‘That’s another sin… Guess I should capitalize on my greed for strong sacred gears…’ Abaddon made a decision that was going to make people born with sacred gears terrified in the future. He would practically become a story to terrify future newly awakened sacred gear users when they got arrogant.

{Extract} Abaddon didn’t dally and cast a huge magic circle using the old devil’s tongue as the catalyst to extract the sacred gear from the soul that belonged to him now. Instantly, a large magic circle formed with Issei’s body in the center.

‘Fuck, it really is a Longinus!’ He realized as he felt an external pull that was far too strong for Issei’s gear to be a mere common sacred gear. The System of God itself was pulling Issei’s Longinus back from Issei’s soul.

‘Thank fuck I was prepared…’ Abaddon thought as he brought out his staff to focus his demonic power along with a scroll from his ancestor that could be used in a time of adversity. It contained his ancestor’s demonic power that could be used to empower the staff to its true full potential.

Just as he used the scroll, a huge torrent of magic escaped as most of it was absorbed by the staff. Not wasting any time, Abaddon stabbed Issei’s body with the staff, right in his heart. Feeling the resistance lessen, but not completely stop, Abaddon knew that he had to act quickly if he actually wanted to get the Longinus.

‘I hope I don’t come under the gaze of the Heavenly— Fuck… His system…’ Abaddon felt a twinge of pain as he couldn’t even think of the Heavenly Father without feeling pain. ‘Worse case, I’ll rely on the old man… I’ll see if he’s just boasting or if he’s got some substance in his words.’ The thought as he focused on seeing what he was pulling out of Issei’s soul.

‘The Boosted Gear, huh…’ He finally noticed the structure of the Longinus. Without wasting any more time, he pulled it toward himself using the staff as a medium. Finally, the green ball of light that was the material representation of the Boosted Gear went to his left hand and merged into the back of his palm. This was what was visible to the naked eye. In reality, Abaddon’s entire soul was merging with the Boosted Gear.

‹Such an interesting way to get a new host…› Abaddon heard a regal voice in his head. It had such depth that it shook him to his soul.
