Chapter 167: She Knows (Part-1)

She wants to me help fix the WST— no matter what it takes. And this is clearly not a request but an order…

*Sigh*

“… alright.” I give out a somewhat exaggerated sigh before agreeing.

It’s not like I can say ‘No, thanks’ and walk out of this room while giving everyone a high-five. These guys are the most powerful people on the planet. They’re akin to gods. Who knows if they use some freaky mind-control magic on me if I protest? It’s better to cooperate of my own free will.

“It’s settled then. You can leave now; we’ll send someone to fetch you again later today. And yes, I will repeat myself, do not divulge anything that we told you to anyone,” she says, dismissing me.

With a last fleeting look at everyone in the room, I unsteadily get up from the chair. Now that I’ve stood up, I quickly realize how hard it is to keep my knees from buckling. Just being in the presence of these people has put physical strain on my body.

As I start walking to the door, I notice that Meira is following me out. I give her a slight frown but don’t say anything. Once outside, she closes the door behind her before facing me.

“No need to drop me off to my room. I remember the way back,” I say with a tired smile, thinking that she wants to lead me back.

But Meira shakes her head.

“I am asked to keep you here until the meeting is over. It won’t take long. Please follow me,” she tells me.

When the fuck did anyone ask her to do anything?

[You think those guys need to speak out loud to communicate?]

… I guess not.

I didn’t notice it when I entered this corridor earlier but there’s actually another nearly-camouflaged door next to the lift. She leads me to it before speaking up.

“Wait inside, please.”

I look at her with narrowed eyes.

I can just wait outside if the meeting is going to end soon. Why is she asking me to wait inside a room?

“Exactly how long do I have to wait?” I cannot help but ask.

“Ten minutes, at most,” She answers briefly before turning around and going back.

Heh… Yeah, right. Let’s see how long these ‘Ten minutes’ are.

Shaking my head, I enter the room. It is a rather small study room with a simple desk and a chair along with a few shelves filled with books. Shrugging to myself, I sit down on the chair while resting my legs on top of the desk.

[Whew, that was something.]

Tell me about it… I could’ve never imagined that even the leaders of the world have people above them.

[And all of them are primordial magic users at that. Oh, and I forgot to mention back then, but that Ilsevel was trying to read your system details again. I blocked her this time as well, though.]

Well, that’s not surprising, to be honest. They want me to raise my level and are going to provide help for that. Of course, they would want to see my system details first.

I think you should just let her see it the next time she tries.

[No, we shouldn’t. Rather than letting them know everything, isn’t it a better idea to just give them selective information? We can later use this to our advantage in so many ways. And of course, it’s not like we don’t have an easy and convenient way to do just that.]

… Rebecca, huh?

[Yup.]

I feel sorry for bothering her about this every time, but let’s go with it—

Suddenly, the door of the room up, and a hooded figure steps inside. I instinctively put my feet down from the table and the calm expression on my face disappears. My heart also starts beating faster as I stare at the person with a frown.

Well, I guess Meira wasn’t lying about the duration of the meeting. But why did one of the hooded ones come here?

Hmm…

Guessing that it must be the woman who was talking to me in the conference room, I open my mouth to speak.

“Do you want to say or ask something you couldn’t in front of the others?” I ask curiously.

But the person doesn’t respond. They simply close the door first before facing me again.

All of a sudden, something huge and invisible tightly grips my body. The way it is holding me, I imagine it to be an oversized hand. The hand then forces me to stand up and slowly pushes me towards the hooded person.

“What are you doing!? Hey!!!” I shout out in shock, trying to break free but to no avail.

To my surprise, the hand actually stops. Although I am just a couple of feet away from the hooded person now, maybe the hand is actually listening to me.

“Eh… release me?” I ask the invisible hand hopefully.

“…”

“Tch…”

It does not release me.

Taking a deep breath, I stare at the hooded person again.

“Why are you doing this and what do you want?” I ask angrily.

The person waits for a few more seconds before speaking up while shaking their head… but not to answer my question.

“Oh, my stupid little daughter. I can understand why… but not how.”

!!!

I was wrong, the voice is still very feminine but it does not belong to the woman who talked to me in the conference room. This is a different person.

But wait, what is she going on about? And is she calling me ‘daughter’? Can’t she see that I am a guy?

[I mean, I don’t know, your dick could easily pass as a clit.]

Shut the fuck up! You’re two upgrades too late to make that joke.

[Hehe, it’s never too late for that.]

…

“Em, excuse me but I am a man,” I tell the woman.

“Good to know. Do you declare that to everyone or am I special?” She asks with a light chuckle.

“You just called me ‘Daughter’, so I thought…”

“I was not talking to you, though.”

“Oh… Anyway, why are you doing this to me?” I ask again, getting back to the topic.

“You will naturally understand in a second.”

Saying this, she undoes the string that’s keeping her cloak together. Then, removing the hood from her face, she let it all fall down to the floor.

…!

“No way…” I mutter with a horrified look on my face.

The woman has some normal and some abnormal physical features. The normal ones include her long and lustrous burgundy hair, her small upturned nose, and her naturally pink luscious lips. She’s also rather tall and has a delicate-looking body. And while her curves are not as exaggerated as some of the women I know, they are in no way small— going just perfectly with the rest of her figure.

Now, if we talk about her abnormal feature, then we have something to worry about. Her big and beautiful eyes are strikingly crimson. Her skin is so pale that it appears almost transparent. And through her slightly parted lips, I can see her somewhat elongated and sharp canines.

Just from a look, even a child can tell that she’s a Vampire. But the reason to worry is not that, it is the fact that she’s not just any Vampire. She’s a Vampire who shares some similarities to a certain individual I know.

“So, do you understand now?” She asks with a faint smile that doesn’t reach her eyes.

I almost don’t want to believe my eyes. How can this be possible!? Was I lied to!?

No, that’s not possible. Maybe I am just tripping.

“N-No, I don’t,” I answer after some hesitation.

“Are you going to feign ignorance now? Alright then, I will say it out loud,” she says in a cold voice.

“I am Marianne Cairnfate, Zakira Vondrake’s mother. And I am already aware that you’ve formed the Blood Bond with my daughter. I also know the fact that you’re the Regnant and she’s the Thrall in the relationship.

“But what I don’t know is how you managed to overpower Zakira during the formation of Blood bond. So, tell me, how exactly did your puny self manage to enslave my child?”

…

Okay, I am royally fucked.
