Vol.4 Ch.4 – The Price Of A Name IV
Chapter 4: The Price Of A Name IV
Nobody would ever be able to accuse Project Divinity of a lack of efficiency. After all, the entire compound was successfully managed by only seven people.
Of those, three were mermaids who spent most of their time in their little office with a giant fish tank attached. Another was Prudence, who barely counted as management except for the part where she was an angel directly subordinate to Jeanne. And of course there was the Professor, whose eccentric and often chaotic work schedule didn't do much count as managing as it required other people to plan around him. And so it would be more accurate to say that the compound was managed by three people: Jeanne, Rachel and the Lieutenant General.
As such it was unsurprising that each of them wore multiple hats, in charge of different parts of how the compound was run. Rachel, for example, wasn't just the compound's nurse, she was also the resident therapist and in charge of actually analyzing the patient data curated by the monitoring division. Oh, and she was also the self-appointed 'sexual relief officer'.
Jeanne, on the other hand, was not just in charge of the armory. She was the compound's quartermaster, in charge of all areas of resource management, including the armory but also including the actual quarters. And so, if Elaine wanted to get Aurora a place to stay she would need to talk to Jeanne.
She gave the door to the armory two curt knocks before opening the door and only when the door was already halfway open did the hastily screamed “No, don't come in!” reach her. And her and Aurora found themselves faced with an unusual tableau.
Jeanne was standing up facing the door, holding onto her desk for dear life. Up top she looked perfectly professional, wearing her neatly pressed, prim and proper military uniform. But Jeanne wasn't wearing pants. Or panties. Or anything down below. Her legs were spread wide and a hand was reaching between them from behind, working her pussy. The hand belonged to Rachel, who was producing some of the filthiest squelching sounds Elaine had ever heard with the way she was working the angel's pussy.
Rachel, in her pink nurse's scrubs, was standing beside and slightly behind Jeanne, seemingly unbothered by the fact that someone had barged in, her fingers not even faltering as she worked them in and out of Jeanne's sopping wet hole, directly onto the tile floor.
“Sorry, bad time,” Elaine said, about to grab Aurora, take a step back and close the door again but Rachel stopped them:
“No, it's okay, almost got her there.”
“Now hold on just a—“ Jeanne began to protest but Rachel stuffed two fingers into her mouth.
“None of that now,” the succubus said and just kept working Jeanne from both ends, all the while maintaining eye contact with Elaine and Aurora.
Elaine considered for a moment whether to block Aurora's view with one hand but, truth be told, she couldn't pry her eyes away from the spectacle long enough to even figure out where the girl was standing.
It only took Rachel a few more seconds before an utterly mortified and wide-eyed Jeanne came her brains out, shrieking out her pleasure and then almost collapsing if not for Rachel's arms holding her aloft. As Jeanne hung there, almost doubled over and breathing like a bellows, Rachel pulled away from the angel's pussy to reveal that she'd had her entire hand inside her, wearing Jeanne like a hand puppet as she'd driven her insane. It took Elaine a few moments of just staring at that image before she managed to tear her eyes away from them to check up on her companion.
Aurora's expression was completely neutral, as if what had just happened was completely unremarkable. Only the crimson blush on her cheeks told Elaine how the girl truly felt. A little part of her died when she considered how the girl could be so stone-faced in that situation. What had she seen under Caulder?
But even if she could keep her expression neutral, the rest of her clearly wasn't. The blush, the faintly labored breathing, the way her right hand was grasping as if to hold onto something... Elaine held her hand out for Aurora to take and the girl gave hers a squeeze in gratitude. And while she held hands with the girl she considered the situation.
Of course Elaine knew that Jeanne and Rachel had... something going on. She didn't really believe that Rachel was capable of having a relationship like a normal person – God, the succubus had pretty much admitted as much to Elaine – but there was clearly something there. Rachel didn't do that sort of thing with just anybody.
At the same time, seeing the angel coming her brains out in a semi-public setting did nothing to quell the little voice inside her head that kept questioning Jeanne's authority. How was she expected to take Jeanne seriously after seeing her like this, not in the bedroom but in the workplace? Elaine squashed that voice as hard as she could. Not only did that line of thinking go against her beliefs, she was also here to build bridges, not to tear them down even further.
She considered for a moment whether it would have been more appropriate to leave and come back later and discarded the idea almost immediately. Not only had she not been in the wrong for coming in here, this was Jeanne's office after all, but Aurora needed a place to stay and Jeanne was the only one with the authority to assign quarters.
**
Of all the people to come through that door it had to be those two, Jeanne thought, utter humiliation bubbling in her chest even as the aftershocks of her orgasm kept coursing through her. And it was a testament to just how crazy Rachel had driven her that the annoyance at Rachel having forgotten to lock the door had been second on her list of things to be upset about. Third on her list, far behind the other two, was relief that it had been Elaine who had found her, rather than someone whose opinion of her Jeanne hadn't managed to ruin yet.
She'd shown an ugly side to Elaine and Abigail in that duel, trying to win at all costs in a sparring match that, on the face of it hadn't meant anything, but even before that she'd shown Elaine something unbecoming. Behaving like a wanton slut while in bed with Elaine and Rachel had felt perfectly right at the time and even now she cherished that night like few others but even so she felt embarrassed by how submissive she'd been, adoring Elaine and letting herself get bossed around by both of them.
Even worse was the way the butterfly girl was looking at her. She had seen that mixture of arousal, mortification and stone-faced neutrality before. She'd spent well over a decade seeing it every day. In the mirror.
Most angels chose the Angel Lord they worked under themselves. The more martially inclined found themselves drawn to Michael, Gabriel or Raphael, or to Uriel if they were particularly competent or good at subterfuge. The scholars ended up working for Samuel. Maria offered a home to those who cared for others. But Jeanne had chosen to work under the Angel Lord of Chastity and Temperance for the simple reason that it had seemed like the right thing to do as the Virgin of Orleans.
What she hadn't expected was that Venus had a very 'Do as I say, don't do as I do' approach to her virtues. Blessed with an inordinately large Soul Shard of the goddess Aphrodite, Venus was nothing less than Heaven's counterpart to Lilith, Demon Lord of Lust. Jeanne, as her prodigy and bodyguard, had spent many a night watching her liege's bedroom activities with the same stone-faced blush on her face that the butterfly girl was giving her now.
She had, eventually, accepted that she was no longer the Virgin of Orleans and could indulge the desires in death that she hadn't in life but it had taken her a long time. All the while her lady Venus had made fun of her for it, teasing her subordinate in a way that didn't seem appropriate for an Angel Lord but was perfectly fitting for the way Venus conducted herself.
As for the question of what angels working under the Lord of Chastity and Temperance did, that was a line of thinking Jeanne didn't much like to think about. The Charismatics, as they were called, had a very specific purpose and demand for it was in decline. Jeanne had done her best to transform Venus' host into a more modern army, an armored team of messengers and banner bearers, though Samuel's angels had taken umbrage with the Charismatics acting as messengers. That was their job. 'Radiant Prism' Kaja, Samuel's protege, had after all been the angel to inform Jesus' disciples of his resurrection, the one waiting for them in the cave.
Jeanne took a deep, shuddering breath, pulling herself out of the thoughts her mind had produced to shield her from the abject humiliation of her position, and then tried her best to sound nonchalant as she looked at Elaine and the butterfly girl and asked: “What can I do for you? Was Mariana successful?”
**
Jeanne trying to sound like she hadn't just lost her damn mind from Rachel's hand inside her was one of the funniest and, yes, cutest things Elaine had ever seen of the angel and a good bit of her annoyance bled away just from that.
“I had expected you to still be busy with Mare, Elaine,” Rachel said.
“Mare?” Elaine asked. “Are you going out of your way to give people lewd nicknames now?”
“Hardly,” Rachel said. “It's what she likes to be called. You should hang out with her sometime, she's fun to be around once you manage to wake her up.”
Well Elaine could certainly see that. Once she was properly... roused she supposed, Mariana, Mare, seemed a lot more awake and aware, observant enough to notice and react to social cues and quite compassionate to boot. “I guess I'll find out later then.”
Rachel nodded, then looked over at Aurora and asked lewdly: “So, how was it, having Mare inside you?”
The girl was taken aback and her blush deepened a shade but she didn't reply to the obvious bait.
“Do you have to phrase it that way?” Elaine asked.
“Absolutely,” Rachel said cheerfully. “Especially since you'll be having Mare inside you later.”
Elaine rubbed her forehead. She was already dreading that and this turn of phrase was not helping matters.
Thankfully Rachel realized that she wasn't going to get anything more out of her, so she asked, in a much more serious tone of voice: “So, did it work?”
“It did,” Elaine said, then stepped back. She was about to introduce the Aurora but before she could the girl gave a little curtsy and said:
“Aurora O'Connor, nice to meet you.”
Rachel smiled. “A beautiful name for a beautiful lady.”
“So, what are you two doing here?” Jeanne asked, finally under control again. The angel had taken the moment's distraction to tidy herself up a little, pull on some pants and sit back down in her office chair.
Elaine nodded, then said: “We need a room for Aurora.” She took a deep breath, then added: “And I'd like to talk to you, Jeanne.”
