Chapter 531: Lust Beneath Heaven

"Are you two ready?"

asked an old angel with long gray hair and glowing amber eyes. He wore white robes and had massive wings of pure light.

"Yes, send us down," a white-haired angel replied with a smile.

"I'm always ready to serve the goddess Uriel," the brown-haired female angel next to him said with a determined look.

"Good," the old angel nodded. "The world is changing rapidly. Goddess Uriel has a mission for you two."

"We know," the white-haired angel said, his gaze unwavering. "We are to investigate the source of this new energy that is tainting the world, and to eliminate it if necessary."

"Eliminate it," the old angel corrected. "The goddess is very clear on this. There is no room for hesitation."

"We understand," the brown-haired angel said, her voice steady.

"Then go," the old angel said, his wings spreading wide. "May Uriel's light guide you, and may your blades be swift."

The two younger angels nodded, their own wings unfurling. They stood tall on a stone platform, both clad in silver armor, radiating holy light.

The platform hummed—a low, celestial vibration that resonated in the soles of their boots. Below them, the Great Rift opened, a swirling vortex of clouds and crystalline light that led to the world beneath the Silver City.

"Let's go."

With a final, shared glance—a silent promise of duty—they stepped off the ledge and plunged into the portal.

In an instant, the pristine, silent glory of Heaven vanished, replaced by the chaotic cacophony of the mortal world. They landed in a forest, the impact sending up a cloud of dirt and fallen leaves, their arrival a silent, divine punctuation mark in the wilderness.

"So this is the divine suppression," the brown-haired angel said, looking at her hands as the heavenly light that usually radiated from them was gone.

"This is your first time in the mortal world, Jael?" the white-haired angel asked, as he stretched his wings.

"Yes, Brother Caelus," Jael nodded, her golden eyes scanning the unfamiliar surroundings with a mixture of awe and caution. "It's... so different. So... alive."

"Alive, and full of sin," Caelus said, his expression grim. "We must be vigilant. The goddess's enemies are everywhere, and only with her holy light inside us can we resist."

This was a normal routine for the angels. They sometimes descended to the mortal world to carry out the goddess's will.

But since this world isn't fully under the control of the goddess Uriel, their power is heavily suppressed.

They are not weak, far from it. An average angel in the mortal world is as strong as an S-rank adventurer. A veteran like Caelus can wipe out an entire kingdom on his own.

And Jael, despite being a novice, is stronger than a whole squad of royal knights.

"We should find the dungeon and close it," Caelus said, his wings folding neatly behind his back. "The reports indicate the anomaly is strongest there."

"Yes, lead the way, Brother Caelus," Jael nodded, her grip tightening on the hilt of her sword.

This was her first mission, and she was determined to prove her worth. She was born from Uriel's light, a perfect soldier, devoid of desire, of passion, of sin. She was the embodiment of purity, a weapon in the goddess's war against the darkness.

The forest breathed around them—thick, wild, untamed. Leaves rustled with secrets. Birds called in harsh, unrehearsed voices. Somewhere distant, water rushed over stones like laughter that had never been taught to be silent.

Caelus walked ahead, silver armor catching stray shafts of sunlight and throwing them back colder than they came. His wings were folded tight, invisible to mortal eyes now, yet he could still feel the new weight in them: that single black feather, a secret he didn't even know he was keeping.

Jael followed half a step behind, brown hair swaying, golden eyes wide with disciplined wonder. Her hand never left her sword's hilt. A shorter blade, elegant and swift, suited her lithe frame. Every footfall was precise, every breath measured. She was exactly what the City of Silver had made her: flawless, empty, ready.

First mission: Prove unyielding purity.

The weight of Uriel's expectations pressed on her like an invisible yoke, but it fueled her resolve. No doubt, no fear—only the goddess's will.

Yet the air here smelled of moss and sap and something warmer. Something that reminded Caelus—against his will—of the maiden's skin.

He clenched his jaw.

"Stay focused," he said, voice low. "The suppression is stronger than usual. The anomaly is feeding on the world's chaos."

"Yes, Brother Caelus," Jael nodded once, sharp. "I feel it. Like oil on water. It wants to cling."

They pressed on for hours, the sun dipping toward the horizon, painting the woods in bloody hues. Caelus navigated by instinct, following the faint pull of the anomaly.

Yet his thoughts kept drifting.

Back to the altar.

Back to the way the maiden had looked up at him, lips parted, thighs trembling, golden eyes no longer obedient but starving. The way she had sucked his thumb like it was the only holy thing left in the universe. The way she'd whispered—directly into the fabric of his soul—about what she'd do to him if he ever returned.

'Angel… finish inside me, let me be your sin.'

He stumbled, catching himself on a twisted oak trunk.

"Something wrong, Brother Caelus?" Jael shot him a questioning look.

"Just the land's influence," Caelus lied smoothly, straightening. "Be wary. Corruption affects the mind."

The fact that he lied so easily was a major red flag, yet he didn't notice it.

"I will." Jael nodded, not thinking too much about it.

Caelus was her senior. His word was law to her.

They eventually found it: a jagged fissure splitting the forest floor, dark as a wound. From within, a faint, pulsating crimson light seeped, casting shadows that moved when they shouldn't.

"This should be the newly formed dungeon," Jael said.

Two days ago, the City of Silver detected a massive burst of nature magic that covered the entire world. Shortly after, new reports about dungeons popping out of nowhere came in, and this is one of them.

Caelus drew his blade, a longsword that hummed with faint celestial energy, its white glow muted now.

"Let's end this."

They descended.

Instantly, they found themselves inside a cave-like passage. The walls were slick, glistening with a viscous red fluid, the air thick with the scent of rust, decay, and something intoxicatingly sweet, like overripe fruit and spilled honey.

"No monsters in the entrance," Jael observed, her grip on her sword tightening.

"They must be deeper," Caelus said, his eyes scanning the passage ahead. "Don't let your guard down, even if it's a newly formed one."

They ventured deeper, the passage narrowing, the walls closing in. The red fluid on the walls seemed to pulse in sync with a faint, rhythmic beat, like a colossal heart. The temperature rose, the air growing heavier, thick with pheromones that made Caelus's head spin.

He fought to ignore it, to focus on the mission, to cleanse the world of this taint.

But he couldn't. His body was responding, a treacherous heat building in his groin, a stirring in his loins that was both alien and exhilaratingly familiar.

He was an angel. A being of pure light. He shouldn't feel this. This was a mortal weakness. This was sin.

This world was created by Lilith. The concept of Lust is the foundation, the very bedrock of its reality.

Dungeons that were birthed from the world's will are the purest embodiment of that concept, no matter what shape or form they take.

They are Lust.

And this one is no different.

However, angels are good at dealing with the dungeons of this world since they are born of purity, with no desire, and immune to mental corruption. Their minds are shielded by Uriel's light. They only have to deal with the physical threats.

It didn't take long for Caelus and Jael to locate the 'core' of this dungeon.

It was a large, circular chamber. In the center, pulsating with a sickly, sweet crimson light, was the core.

The monsters were easy to deal with, mostly slimes, horny goblins, and a few tentacle plants.

"Let's destroy it," Jael said, raising her sword, approaching the core.

Caelus said nothing. His eyes were fixed on the core, but he wasn't seeing it. He was seeing the maiden. He was seeing her lips, her eyes, her body.

Badump!

His heart skipped a beat, then another, then another.

'What is happening to me?' he thought. 'My thoughts... my body... this is not me.'

He tried to focus on the core, to fulfill his duty, but he couldn't.

He then looked at Jael.

Her silver armor gleamed under the crimson light, but it was her expression that made Caelus's breath catch.

For the first time, he saw her not as a soldier, but as a woman.

He saw the gentle curve of her hips, the swell of her breasts, the delicate line of her jaw.

He wanted to touch her.

He wanted to feel her skin under his fingertips.

He wanted to taste her lips.

'No! This is not me,' he screamed in his mind, but the thought only made him harder.

Jael, oblivious to her companion's inner turmoil, stepped forward, her sword held high.

"For the glory of Uriel!" she cried, her blade a streak of silver in the crimson light.

But before she could strike, a hand grabbed her arm.

It was Caelus.

"Brother Caelus? What are you doing?" Jael asked, her golden eyes wide with confusion. "Is something wron—HMM!"

He didn't let her finish.

He pulled her close, crashing his lips against hers in a brutal, possessive kiss. His tongue forced its way into her mouth, claiming her, tasting her, devouring her.

Jael's mind went blank.

This was wrong. This was forbidden. This was a sin.

But her body, for some unknown reason, betrayed her.

"Ahh~" A soft moan escaped her lips, her body melting against his, her arms wrapping around his neck, pulling him closer.

"Kiss me... More"
