Chapter 490: Almost Caught
Back inside the tent,
I took a deep breath and opened my eyes. My mind was back in my body.
"Well, that was interesting," I mused, exiting the tent.
Vespera was still sitting by the fire, her back turned to me.
"Pointy?" I called out.
"Morgana?" she replied, her voice a bit distant. "You are awake? I thought you'd be asleep for a few more hours."
"Couldn't sleep," I said, walking towards her. "Too much pure energy in the air."
"You keep saying that," she said, turning to face me, "but you have no problem 'corrupting' it with your presence."
"Hehehe," I chuckled. "It's a gift."
I sat next to her, our thighs touching again. The firelight danced on her face, making her look even more beautiful than usual.
"Anyway, we have a situation that needs to be addressed."
"What kind of situation?" she asked, her expression turning serious.
I took the time to explain what happened inside my head—about the spirit, the sickness, the demons, the corrupted elves, and my deal with the spirit.
I told her everything, except for the part about me being the goddess. I told her that the spirit approached me because I was the goddess's messenger.
Vespera listened without interrupting, her sharp eyes narrowing as I described the corrupted images, the black sap, the twisted animals, and the masked high elves chanting in a demonic tongue. When I finished, she stayed quiet for a long moment, poking at the fire with a stick.
"So let me get this straight," she said. "A forest spirit hijacked your nap, showed you nightmare fuel, blamed demons and high elves, and now there's a big ritual in two days that might kill the whole forest."
"Pretty much," I nodded. "Oh, and I promised to help relocate an entire ecosystem."
"..." She stared at me.
"…You really know how to find trouble."
"Trouble finds me," I corrected. "I just flirt back."
Vespera snorted despite herself, then her expression sobered.
"If demons are involved, and high elves too… this isn't just some local mess. High elves don't get their hands dirty unless someone powerful is backing them."
"Exactly," I said. "Which means the 'Purification Ritual' is bullshit. It's a cover. A very shiny, very holy-looking cover."
"And you think the Queen is in on it." She tossed the stick into the fire.
"I don't think," I said calmly. "I know."
Silence settled between us, broken only by the night sounds of the forest. Somewhere in the distance, something hooted. Something else howled. The Forest of Purity was never quiet—just… watchful.
"If we interfere with a royal ritual, we'll be enemies of the entire kingdom." Vespera leaned back on her hands, eyes on the flames.
"Wouldn't be my first time." I shrugged.
"That's not reassuring."
"I'm very reassuring," I said. "Just not in the traditional sense."
"You're serious about this, aren't you?" She shook her head, then glanced at me sideways.
I met her gaze. No jokes. No smirk.
"Yeah," I said. "If we do nothing, the forest dies. The creatures die. And whatever they're feeding… gets stronger."
"I left the capital to avoid politics and cult nonsense." Vespera cursed under her breath in Elvish.
"And yet," I said lightly, "here you are. Sitting next to me. Again."
"Yeah." She rolled her eyes. "You're a bad influence."
"True," I agreed. "But I'm a fun one.... with a big dick."
"..."
I stretched, then nudged her with my elbow.
"Don't look so grim, Pointy. It'll be fun."
"Your definition of fun gives me hives," she muttered, but a tiny smile played at her lips.
"Says the one who wants me to pop her cherry later."
She blushed. Hard.
"That's different," she huffed.
"..." I kept staring at her with a smug grin, which caused the dark elf to blush even more.
"What's the plan?" Ves said after a long sigh, turning the subject. "You already have a plan, don't you?"
"Of course I do," I replied, a predatory glint in my eyes. "We stick with the original plan for now. We get the stag, we get the invitation, and we walk right into the queen's party."
"And...?" she prompted.
"And we fuck the shit out of the queen's royal pussy," I said, my grin widening.
"..."
Vespera facepalmed.
"I'm being literal," I insisted. "We are going to the party to fuck the queen."
"Alright, alright, I get it," she quickly said. "What about the forest spirit? She's expecting your help."
"I've already started," I said, looking around the clearing. "I've told her to gather the 'purest' creatures of the forest in one spot. The white stag will lead us there later."
"And what about the goddess?" Vespera asked, her tone respectful. "Did you ask her? Did she agree to move the forest to her land?"
For a second, I was about to say 'I'm the goddess', but stopped myself. Then another face popped into my head.
My twin sister, who usurped my throne.
'I don't think Vicky will say no,' I thought for a moment, only to realize that she might refuse, thinking that I'll breed with every single creature in the forest... which is true, I want cute, lovely deer-kin daughters.
'I'll deal with that later.'
"I've already sent a message," I said, my tone confident. "My goddess has agreed to shelter the forest spirit and her creatures."
"Then what are we going to do about the corrupted elves and the demons?" she asked, her expression serious.
"We wait," I said, my gaze fixed on the moonlit lake. "We wait for them to make their move. And when they do, we'll be there to... 'welcome' them."
Vespera nodded, her expression thoughtful.
"Alright then," she said, a small smile on her face. "Let's go and fuck shit up."
"Hehehe," I chuckled. "That's the spirit."
...
Time passed as we sat there by the fire, the silence between us no longer awkward... I mean, we spent the time making out like two horny teenagers.
Joking~... I was just kissing and touching a bit. I want to save my load for the queen later.
"Look," Ves whispered, pointing towards the lake.
The moon had reached its zenith, bathing the clearing in a ghostly white light. And there, at the water's edge, stood a creature that took my breath away.
The White Stag was even more magnificent than I had imagined. Its coat was the color of fresh snow, its antlers like polished silver, and its eyes... its eyes were like pools of liquid moonlight. It exuded an aura of pure, untamed power, an aura that made my cock twitch with excitement.
"He's beautiful," Vespera breathed, her eyes wide with awe.
"He's mine," I corrected, a predatory grin spreading across my face. I could already imagine what our daughters would look like. With my power and the stag's purity, they would be... divine.
Just then, another figure emerged from the trees. It was the forest spirit, its form shimmering in the moonlight.
"My goddess," it said, bowing its head. "As you commanded, I have brought you the White Stag."
"My... Goddess?" Vespera suddenly looked at me with a confused expression.
"!!!"
'Shit! I completely forgot about Vespera. I got carried away in the moment.'
I quickly tried to think of a way to explain this.
"The great goddess thanks you for your service," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I am merely her vessel, her chosen messenger."
"..." Vespera looked at me, then at the spirit, then back at me. Her eyes narrowed, her brow furrowed in suspicion.
The spirit, catching my drift, played along beautifully.
"Of course, my apologies," it said, its head still bowed. "I should have addressed you with the respect due to the Emissary of the Divine."
An emissary? That was a new one. I could work with that.
"See?" I said, turning to Vespera with a shrug that I hoped looked more nonchalant than panicked. "It's a title. Very formal. You know how these ancient beings are."
"Hmm?..." Vespera didn't look convinced. Her eyes were doing that thing they did when she was piecing together a puzzle, and all the pieces were shaped like my lies.
It's not that I'm not okay with telling her the truth. It's just more fun this way. Moreover, every single time one of my followers gets to truly know me,
the look in their eyes changes. The reverence, the awe, the fear—all evaporate, replaced by playful bickering, the casual intimacy, and the easy friendship we have now.
Hell, look at Liliana's maid, Samantha.
The woman went from a devout, terrified follower to someone who wouldn't hesitate to shove her cock up my ass and spank me like I was some cheap slut.
Ahh~... I love it.
"Ahem... Let's not waste the moonlight," I said, changing the subject and stepping towards the White Stag. The animal didn't flinch. It simply watched me, its silver eyes reflecting my own image back at me. It was calm, serene, and utterly magnificent.
"We need to finish our business here as quickly as possible."
