Chapter 437: A Constellation
"Okay... all done."
Blowing a kiss to the gorgeous reflection of Lady Raven in the mirror, I stepped out of the public bathroom after changing into a more casual outfit with sunglasses, a mask, and a hat to hide my face.
I felt like a pervert slipping into a disguise after committing a crime. Which, to be fair, I kind of did. I mean, sucking the semen out of young, energetic male hunters in the academy's gloryhole could be a crime if they found out.
"Why does the academy have a gloryhole to begin with?" I couldn't help but wonder.
As far as I know, the academy was built 200 years ago by the Blood Queen herself to help train humanity's future hunters.
"So maybe she had a thing for anonymous sex?" I pondered for a moment, feeling that I had touched something that I shouldn't have. "No, no, no, she was a queen of vampires and a great leader. Not a pervert... unlike Morgana."
Ahem... anyway. I tugged the brim of my hat low. Mask on. Shades in place. Hoodie zipped. I looked like a suspicious gremlin trying to smuggle drugs, but honestly? Better that than letting anyone recognize me.
Not Nana but Lady Raven.
I'm trying to do my best to keep my two identities separate, to the point that I used the public bathroom that was an hour away from the academy and disguised myself like three times.
"Haa..." I exhaled, stepping into the cool evening air. The sun was dipping, painting the sky in shades of orange and blood red. Perfect.
"Time to go home."
Home, with comfortable sofas and soft pillows and even softer thighs.
Home, with mother's warm hugs and warmer tits.
Home, with Greska's thick, half-giant cock resting across my face as a welcome-home gift.
Home, with Shae's smirk as she pretends she's not waiting at the door for me like an excited puppy.
My pussy clenched just thinking about it. This time, I planned to fuck them and maybe turn my maid Anna into an Arachne.
"Hours… just a few hours…" I whispered, almost drooling.
I glanced behind me every couple of steps, scanning for blonde stalkers with the persistence of a cursed roach.
Nothing.
No Jane. No creepy footsteps. No horrifying chirp of "Na~na~chaaan!"
Just peace.
I hailed a car—not one of those fancy mana-driven ones that the rich students use to flaunt their daddy's money, but a nondescript, black-lacquered rental that smelled faintly of old tobacco.
"The Obsidian District," I told the driver, slipping him a good sum of cash to ensure he didn't ask questions and, more importantly, didn't look back.
"!!!" The driver's eyes widened just a little—just enough to show he understood that the less he knew, the longer he'd live.
"Right away," he muttered, pocketing the cash without counting it.
Good man. Smart man. My favorite type: the ones who mind their business.
I slumped back into the seat, tugging my hood even lower. The city rolled by in blurs of neon, old brick, hanging banners, and the faint glow of mana lanterns flickering to life along the streets as dusk crept in.
The Blood Queen really did an amazing job building this city after monsters invaded the entire world. On her own, she managed to reclaim about 25% of what used to be known as Asia. A great feat that no one has ever managed to accomplish.
Heheh... the rumors said that the reason the Blood Queen reclaimed this part of the world was that she was an anime and manga fanatic.
She was definitely my kind of queen. A good woman of culture.
A shame she died.
Now those who hid in the shadows in the past out of fear have grown bolder and now crawl around like worms in the light, attacking our crimson city.
"Tch. Cowards," I muttered, tapping my fingers on my thigh. "They didn't dare breathe wrong when the Blood Queen was alive, but now that she's dead? Everyone suddenly grew balls the size of watermelons."
I rolled my eyes so hard I nearly sprained them.
If the Blood Queen were still around, half the people causing trouble now would've been turned into decorative living art impaled on spikes. Sexy decorative wall art. Probably with tentacles.
"Haa." I closed my eyes, seeking a little rest, but instead my brain offered me an image of Jane's face squished against the bathroom door, eyes full of righteous fury and chronic curiosity.
"Ugh." I slapped my own forehead. "No. No thinking about her. She is dead to me. D-E-A-D. Dead."
"Hmm?" The driver glanced in the mirror for half a second. I glared back. He wisely turned away. Good.
The Obsidian District wasn't luxurious. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't full of rich nobles or pristine pavements. It was old. Dark. A maze of black-stone buildings and narrow alleys, lit by purple lantern flames and crawling with all sorts of magical misfits.
My kind of place.
Where a woman like me could walk around with dried cum on her lips, and no one would bat an eye.
As the car turned down a familiar street, my heart did a stupid little jump.
An old apartment that I bought using Black Moon's connections. It cost a bloody 100 million credits, no joke. But it was worth it.
The apartment wasn't the expensive thing, but what was inside it.
A sort of teleportation device.
A device that connects to my mansion in Night City.
"Heheh…" I couldn't help the crooked grin spreading under my mask. "Finally."
The car rolled to a stop in front of the old, weatherworn building. To anyone else, it looked abandoned—cracked stone, crooked shutters, one flickering purple lantern hanging like it was dying of mana starvation. Perfect camouflage.
"Here?" the driver asked cautiously, like he was afraid I was about to drag him into a murder basement.
"Yes," I said, handing him another stack of cash. "And forget you ever saw me. Or smelled me."
"Understood, ma'am." He nodded fast enough to give himself whiplash.
He will forget about me entirely, after all, I was using a tiny new spider to inject him with a little of my neurotoxin that would wipe only the last hour of his memory.
A handy little ability I gained after sucking a cute four-inch penis with a magic aura.
The car peeled away instantly—good survival instincts.
I adjusted my hood, pulling it even lower, then slipped into the narrow side entrance wedged between two black-stone walls. The security glyph recognized my mana instantly, glowing red for half a heartbeat before turning green.
Click.
Door unlocked.
Inside, the apartment was dark—intentionally so. Black curtains. Black furniture. Black-on-black aesthetic. A place that screamed:
"I fuck, not decorate."
I mean, I can't have everything pink—that would be a dead giveaway about my identity, right?
Yeah. You can't imagine that Lady Raven, the shadow owner of half of the Black Moon, the cold mistress who can break an entire family with a single word, would have a pink room full of plush toys.
That's Nana's vibe.
And right now?
I'm Lady Raven.
Anyway, I closed the door behind me, locking the three physical locks, the mana lock, the blood seal, and the secret pussy-shaped safety latch I installed because… well… I forgot why. Probably horny brain.
"Haaa…" The exhaustion finally hit me like a brick to the clit. "Okay… just get to the room… activate the teleport… fall into mother's boobs…"
My steps echoed softly on the dark wooden floor as I moved deeper inside.
The apartment smelled faintly of lavender incense and murder. Cozy.
I passed the tiny kitchen—never used—my one sad sofa—only used for masturbating—and the bookshelf—full of romance novels I stole from the academy's forbidden section.
Then—
Tap!
"!!!" I froze mid-step. My breath hitched.
Tap!
That wasn't the house settling. That wasn't a pipe. That wasn't a rat demon chewing the insulation again.
Someone was upstairs. Inside the apartment. In the room with the teleporter.
And I didn't invite them.
My blood ran cold. Then hot. Cold with shock, hot with pure, unfiltered fucking rage.
"I swear to all that is pervert," I muttered, unzipping my pants, allowing my tiny spiders to crawl out. "No one is leaving this place alive."
The tiny, black spiders skittered across the floor, their many red eyes glowing with malice as they vanished into the shadows.
I reached under my hoodie, pulling out a small curved dagger I kept strapped to my thigh—just in case. Not my main weapon, but it was coated with a fast-acting paralytic venom and a little bit of… well, my own arousal. No one resists that.
Step… step… step…
Silent. Slow. Predatory.
My senses sharpened—the faint thud of a heartbeat, the slight shift of weight, the smell of… nothing?
Did I imagine it? I paused, listening.
Silence.
Still, I wasn't taking any chances.
The second I turned the corner, I lunged.
Dagger raised, teeth bared, venomous spiders already scurrying up the walls to flank from all sides… and stopped dead in my tracks.
Because sitting on the chair, right in front of the glowing teleportation circle, was a woman with pale skin, white hair, and eyes of the same color.
Before I could even say a word—
Ding!
A holographic screen popped in my face, making me flinch back.
[The divine constellation "The Shadow Veil" took notice of your existence]
"Eh?" I froze, staring at the blue window. "A divine constellation?!!"
