Chapter 387: There She Is
The idea could work, and if it did, I bet Mars would be more than happy to fill me with his Roman seed. However, there are things to consider that may put limitations on or make the whole plan impossible.
First, the soul itself, I don't have the Night Mother bloodline anymore, so I can't deal with the soul. Moreover, the shield that contains Mars' wife was his divine artifact, and artifacts contain part of the god's soul.
Even if I managed somehow to absorb the shield, separate the soul, and give birth to the woman, there is a small chance that she'll be a combination of Mars and his wife.
So she'll be like their daughter, instead, I'll give birth to her, which makes her my daughter too.
"..."
'Ugh!... too complicated,' I inwardly groaned in frustration at the idea. If the soul didn't have the divine artifact around it, then I may have some success; however, if the artifact is fully part of Mars... the possibility of failing is higher.
"Sigh." With a heavy sigh, I turned to Lora, asking, "Did you finish your trial?"
"I did. And—" She beamed quickly, pulling out a small iron metal shaped like a shield. "I passed."
"It is so cute," Lucy cooed, ruffling her red hair gently. "Congratulations, newbie!"
"Thank you, I... uh... all thanks to Katerina without her—"
"No need to thank me," the wine goddess interrupted her, waving a hand. "You got this yourself."
"Speaking of passing the trial," Lucy spoke up, gaze falling on me. "Did you manage to find an Iron trial?"
"Of course," I replied, opening the Nexus system and claiming my reward, which was the same iron metal as Lora's
"An iron shield, huh?" I murmured, narrowing my eyes at the design. "Even the Nexus is mocking me now…"
"Oh my… you're right! HAHAHA" Lucy fell backward midair as her laughter reverberated through the hall, her whole body twitching. "It-It actually—ha-ha, oh! M-my sides hurt, hahaha."
"Shut up," I snapped, folding my arms like an angry child. "If I see another shield, I swear I'll—"
"You'll what?" Katerina smirked, sipping from her bottle. "Lose to it again?"
"AAARGH!" I pulled at my hair, fangs bared. "Even my own allies betray me! Do you not understand!? I am a goddess of sex! I fuck to live! I live to fuck! The day I am defeated by a shiel—Gah!—anyway, Mars will pay for this humiliation."
"Uhm... is Morgana going through puberty again? It feels like her age moving backward," Lora whispered to Eir.
"I-in a way?... she's just mad for the first rejection of her entire existence," Eir mumbled back.
Clap! Clap!
"Enough about your humiliation," Katerina said firmly, her palms still echoing through the VR room. "Now we need to make it to the Eternal Flame of Creation and raise your rank."
The atmosphere shifted. Even Lucy stopped giggling—though a smug smile still lingered on her lips.
"The Eternal Flame?" I arched a brow, crossing my arms under my chest. "Sounds dramatic enough, but what is it exactly? Another stupid test? Don't tell me it's another shield!"
"Relax, horny disaster," Lucy snorted, stretching midair. "It's not a shield. It's worse. A forge."
"A forge?" I tilted my head. My thoughts immediately wandered to the Anvil of Creation when those faceless judges forged my divine body.
'If the two connected? created for the same purpose?' I couldn't help but wonder.
Katerina nodded, her expression turning serious for once.
"The Eternal Flame of Creation is where the Nexus tempers divine essence. Only those who've passed the Trials are allowed to approach it. By offering your medal and faith, the Flame will brand you with proof of your ascension… and open the path to the next rank."
"That's interesting," I muttered, tapping my claw against my chin. "Sounds like a rare quality forging material mixed with a kinky branding ritual."
"Grr," Lucy groaned, covering her face. "Why do you always make everything sound like a sex dungeon?"
"Because everything is a sex dungeon if you're creative enough," I shot back proudly, puffing my perfect chest out.
"Hmm.." Lucy kept staring at me, her mind definitely thinking of something spicy,
"Hey Ass-Breaker, are you interested in designing a game with me?"
"Horny one?" I smiled mischievously
The goddess of games simply replied by flashing a seductive smile.
"Count me in," I agreed without hesitation and sent her a friend request.
"Alright, let's go before you two fuck each other's brains out." Katerina cut our pervy convo like a cold bucket of water. "The forge is waiting, and I do not intend to waste all day playing nurse between you two horny freaks."
"A Virgin is speaking," Lucy and I muttered under our breaths.
"Did you say something?" the wine goddess shot back coldly.
"Oh, nothing! Nothing at all, I'm ready," I lied with a forced smile, waving my hand like nothing had happened.
"Hey," Lucy floated behind me, whispering just loud enough for me to hear it: "Is it weird for a goddess of wine and entertainment to stay a virgin?"
"Definitely," I nodded. I didn't even ask her if she was a virgin; with my breeding concept, I could detect if someone was a virgin or not. And since I'm stronger than Grape Juice, I was able to detect it without an effort.
From my short test when I was back in that plaza looking for a healthy cock. The success of my detection was random; some were successful, some failed, and I learned that if the target is weaker than me, I'll always get a successful reading, if stronger, a failure is guaranteed.
At least that's what Herma informed me after analyzing the data.
"I HEARD THAT!" Katerina spun and snapped at us, her blue eyes sparkling with fury, and for a second, I was afraid I'd pushed her too far, but then she took Lora's hand and started heading for the exit.
"See you later, Lucy," I smiled at the little vixen, waved, and hurried up to follow the wine goddess, with Eir trailing behind me.
...
Once outside, Katerina led us to the portal hub, and from there we passed through a massive orange one that was located in the middle of the plaza, and was being protected by what seemed to be puppet guards, similar to Number Seven.
The moment we passed through the portal, the area became the hottest and most suffocating. The divine energy that filled the air was the highest in the entire Nexus.
It took some time and mana for me, Lora, and Eir to adjust to this new environment, and when we did, I finally had a chance to look around me, and I was surprised beyond belief.
"Wow!"
The place was MASSIVE! and it was a mixture of a holy temple made from marble stone and space itself. Think of it as if you took a temple, split it horizontally, and connected the bottom half of it into the surface of the sun, while the top half had space spreading around it like tree roots.
And there it was, in the middle of everything, floating as it were, the center of gravity was a Flame, a small orange flame compared to the scale of the whole place. But that didn't fool my sharp senses.
The Eternal Flame of Creation felt less like a place and more like a sentence in which the universe chose its verbs. A moment that led to a beginning or a reality that would crumble at the end of all time.
The mere sense of power resonating from its dim flicker filled my core to bursting. My bones sang. My mind danced. It was not light nor darkness, but a hunger coming from between my legs.
'Can I breed that flame?'
The thought pierced me like a spear of lust. My mind twisted into images of pure, heated pleasure as I tried—and failed—to picture what creating a child between my divine cock and an Immortal Flame could possibly be.
'A sexy flame daughter, perhaps?'
Just as I was about to turn to Grape Juice and ask how to proceed with the ranking, my eyes caught a figure.
Badump!
My heart stopped, my breathing stopped, and everything around me ceased to exist. The only things I could feel were...
RAGE and HATRED
Badump! Badump! Badump!
There, close to the Eternal Flame, was a goddess... but not any kind of Goddess.
A white-feathered, blonde-haired, milky-skinned angelic BITCH!!!!!
Uriel. The Primordial Goddess of Light.
And she was right fucking here.
"Morgana.. are you okay?" Lora, who was walking beside me, asked, sensing something wrong, "You're shaking?"
But I didn't listen, I couldn't, all my focus was on the goddess who betrayed my wife.
"AHHHH!"
Without thinking, I summoned The Claw of The Unmaking and rushed towards the bitch. My only aim was to gut her like a fish and turn her into a bloody mess.
"URIEL!!!!!!"
Unfortunately, I didn't get to reach halfway before I was stopped by a white mist that suddenly materialized from nowhere, blocking my way. I couldn't even react to it because the next moment, the mist swallowed me.
"AHHHH!"
It only took a split second, and the next moment I found myself in some old dusty room with all four walls covered in glowing runes.
Rage and hatred consumed me, and it took me a few seconds before I noticed the figures that were with me in the room. I turned and found nine faceless figures cloaked in black. The same ones that passed through the plaza before.
The Nine Death Gods of the Unspoken Realm.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that they were the ones who teleported me here, away from Uriel. Away from my revenge, and for that, I was beyond pissed.
Yet before I could take an action and split all nine of them in half, they suddenly dropped to one knee, saying in unison.
"We the Nine pay our utmost respect to the High Queen of the Unspoken Realm... Morgana!"
