Chapter 385: Victory… But Feels Like I Lost

"URGHAAA!!!"

With a mighty roar, Mars leaped into the air, ascending toward the heavens like the true god of war he was, a golden trail blazing behind him. At the peak of his rise, he twisted his body, spear raised high, before descending like a meteor streaking with divine fire.

"Seriously?" I was slightly surprised by his action; I was under the impression that Mars respects his soldiers and cares for them. Yet now his descent would definitely kill a good chunk of his men.

Mine too.

"Not a chance"

With a single beat of my wings, I ascended. Shadow and crimson light spiraled around me, devouring his glow as I rose higher, meeting him halfway. Using my blood magic, I conjured a massive shield—an obsidian barrier veined with pulsing crimson, like a beating heart cast into solid form.

Mars' eyes blazed with golden fury as he saw it. He didn't slow. He didn't even hesitate. His descent only grew faster, spear thrusting forward, divine fire coiling around it like a comet's tail.

"Face me, Morgana!" Mars bellowed, his words blistering like an exploding star. "One war god to another!"

BOOOM!

The collision came with the force of worlds colliding. His spear drove into my shield, divine fire clashing with blood-forged shadow. The sound was not metal on metal, but a scream of two concepts ripping against each other—war against blood, order against... horny chaos?

For an instant, the sky itself split in two. Half burned gold, half drowned in crimson.

Below, both armies were thrown back. Men and vampires alike staggered, shields and spears tumoring from their hands as shockwaves tore through the battlefield. Trees splintered. The earth cracked.

In an instant, the entire clearing was transformed into a pit of hellish wasteland as if a titan stood on top of it, stomping on it until it was completely deformed.

Yet in that silence, Mars' laughter rumbled. Low at first, then louder, until it rolled across the ruined forest like thunder.

"YES! This is it, Morgana! This is WAR! Not tricks, not shadows, not whispers in the dark. Just strength against strength. God against god!"

His aura blazed hotter, burning away the smoke around him, and for a moment, he looked every inch the true god of war of Rome, a golden colossus who had stood since the birth of Rome.

I flexed my claw, crimson sparks dripping like liquid fire. My shield was gone, shattered into droplets that now swirled lazily in the air, waiting for my will. My lips curled into a grin, sharp and cruel. Then I burst into laughter.

"Yeah... you're right"

It'd be a shame on all horny beings if the Goddess of Breeding and War needed anything else but her fist to win.

So why not indulge him?

"HA!" With a powerful beat of my wing, we were in the sky, clashing like titans. I forged a blade from my own blood, similar to my old one, 'Nosferat'—thirsty and beautiful. It sang as it formed, a razor of night and hunger that drank light.

Mars answered with bronze and sun; his spear and shield were a moving sunburst. Each time his shield turned toward me, it threw back a tide of golden heat, each sweep of his spear a small cataclysm. He fought like centuries — disciplined, economical, a living campaign plan. I fought like a noble swordmaiden—Elegant, sharp, lethal, and horny.

Every parry sent shockwaves crackling across the sky. My blade of blood shrieked against his spear, sparks scattering like dying stars, each one burning before vanishing into the void. His shield smashed forward with brutal precision, a wall of gold designed to crush armies, not just one opponent. But I was no army—I am Morgana. And this isn't a battle, this is a duel. A bloody dance.

A celebration of two war gods locked in a lover's embrace.

"Is this all Rome has left, Mars?" I mocked, twisting the new Nosferat in a wild arc that hummed with shadow. The edge slipped past his guard, biting into the rim of his shield. The blood-forged steel hissed, leaving a jagged mark across divine bronze. "A shield with too many cracks?"

His response was a roar that shook the heavens. He slammed his shield into me, a blow like a mountain hurled by the gods themselves. Pain bloomed across my ribs, but I let the force spin me, wings snapping wide, momentum turning into grace.

"Not a bad answer," I laughed, spinning around in the air, and in that motion Nosferat sang again—its crimson edge grazing across his shoulder.

Golden ichor sprayed. For the first time, Mars bled.

'I wondered why their blood is gold while mine is red—maybe because I'm a goddess of blood?'

"Good!..." Mars' face twisted, not with fear, but with savage joy. His voice thundered through the ruin. "Good! Wound me, Morgana! Show me you're worthy of my spear!"

"..."

I narrowed my eyes, staring at him in silence for a good ten seconds before I raised my hand.

"You mean this spear?" I pointed at the weapon in his hand, then I shifted to another 'spear', one that was hidden between his legs. "Or this one?"

"Cough!... Cough!..." For the first time, I heard Mars choking on his own saliva and blood. "No time for jokes"

His cheeks glowed bright red in pure embarrassment. He raised his shield, then he pressed forward with renewed fury. His spear lashed like lightning, each thrust faster, harder, a rhythm of war honed by centuries of conquest. I deflected one, two, three strikes, each jarring my arm to the bone. On the fourth, his shield slammed into Nosferat, the impact tearing the sword wide, exposing my flank.

The spear shot for my heart.

"HA!!" I twisted, narrowly avoiding the killing blow, though its edge ripped a gash across my side. Blood burst from me in a crimson arc, but my grin only widened, fangs flashing as my blood morphed midair, becoming knives of shadow that curved back at him.

"Pathetic!" Mars snarled as the blades peppered his armor, bouncing harmlessly off some, while others slipped between the seams, cutting deep. He tore them free, golden light searing shut his wounds, but each patch left him a little dimmer, a little less radiant.

"You bleed more with every strike," I whispered, hovering before him, Nosferat pulsing like a hungry heart in my hands. "And your light fades. Rome's light fades."

"Rome never fades!" His golden eyes burned hotter, defiant even through the pain. "Rome is eternal. And as long as I stand, so is she!"

...

For the next five or six hours, our clash continued without pause. Neither of us relented, neither of us yielded. Blow for blow, strike for strike, it was a symphony of carnage, a dance choreographed by gods of war.

Of all the things I had expected when this game began, this duel was not one of them. Yet here we were, locked in battle like titans from some forgotten age, warring without mercy, laughing between the pain. Mars gave no quarter, his spear a storm of relentless precision, his shield a golden wall that never faltered. I matched him, every motion sharpened by hunger, lust, and bloodlust, my blade Nosferat shrieking with joy as it carved through light.

The sky itself became our canvas, painted in gold and crimson. Every clash lit the heavens with new scars—fiery rents of sunlight, shadowed gashes of night. Below, both armies could do little but watch in awe. Vampires and Romans alike fell into silence, the battlefield forgotten as their generals turned the world into an arena.

I found myself liking this old god more and more, like a true brother in arms.

Mars struck, his spear plunging like a lightning bolt. I caught it with Nosferat, sparks exploding, but suddenly his spear moved in a way I didn't see before. It twisted like a snake, and before I could react.

"Ugh!"

The spear fully pierced my chest.

"Haah!… My… win." Mars's exhausted voice trembled, his arms shaking as he pressed the weapon deeper. Golden fire burned through my ribs, searing muscle and bone, threatening to consume the very core of me.

Pain blossomed like a thousand suns inside me. My vision blurred, the world tilting gold at the edges. For a heartbeat, the battlefield fell silent—my men gasped, vampires cried out, the armies frozen in the horror of watching their goddess impaled.

But my grin never left.

"Your… win?" I rasped, wrapping my claws around the shaft, holding it in place. Blood poured freely from the wound. "No, Mars. You only opened… the door."

His helmet was long gone, and thinking that he won, Mars lowered his shield. With a powerful pull, I pushed the spear deeper in my chest and at the same time pulled Mars to me.

"W-what—!?" he gasped.

My fangs flashed, impaling his neck before he could bring his shield to bear once more. The blow took him by surprise, eyes wide, blood pouring over his polished armor. In an instant, the spear tumbled from his grip. His hands grappled at my wrists, clawing, struggling to break my grip.

But I was unmovable. Unstoppable.

His HP was falling faster than mine; it was a battle of who drained who first, and it was no surprise that I emerged victorious after draining all the blood from his body.

"I lost?" That's all he muttered as his life reached zero. He looked at me like a warrior would. No despair, no fear, just pride and determination. He gave me a thumbs up before his body broke into blue shards.

Ding!

[You have defeated the enemy general]

[The enemy command tent is now vulnerable]

"Ahh~... I'm too tired for that."

With a mental command, I ordered my army to finish what remained of the Roman forces before heading to their camp and burning down their tent.

Ding!

[The Winner of the Iron Challenger: Army Strategy Game Mode]

[Goddess Morgana]

...

"Congratulations, Morgana, you deserve it."

That was the first thing I heard when I was teleported back to that white space. Mars was sitting cross-legged on the floor with a satisfied grin on his face.

"A battle worth remembering," he grinned, holding out a hand to me, and I accepted the handshake before sending a friend request, which I accepted.

"We can do it again after some time," I suggested, to which Mars replied:

"Definitely"

"So... tell me, Mars"

The air in the white space suddenly grew hotter as I stripped off my bikini in an instant, the black fabric vanishing into nothingness.

"!!!" Mars blinked, his grin faltering for the first time since our clash. The old god's skin flushed, his jaw tightening as if he was staring down a new kind of battlefield he hadn't prepared for.

"W-what are you—" he began, voice stumbling.

"You fought me for six hours, Mars. You pierced my chest, I pierced your neck… we bled, we laughed, we killed each other. Tell me—" I traced a hand down my stomach, stopping just above the heat pooling between my thighs, "—are you really going to walk away from this without finishing what you started?"

YES!... Sex is a must after a good fight, and there was no better partner I could choose from to cool myself after that epic clash than a fellow war god.

I bet his cock is great too. My pussy was quivering already, eager to be filled.

However...

"Cough... Sorry, Morgana," Mars coughed, his cheeks burning red again. He raised a hand, saying, "But I'm married to my shield."

That was all he said before logging off, leaving me standing there like a naked fool.

"Eh?" I was shocked. NO! 'Shocked' couldn't even describe what I was feeling.

ME!... The perfect, beautiful, horny, sex, hot-ass, and breedable goddess got.... REJECTED!!!

"EEEH?!!!!!!!!!!!"

And worse—I got defeated by a SHIELD!!!!

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!..... MARS YOU ASSHOLE!!!"
