Chapter 86 The third prince

Third Prince’s Point of View

I couldn’t believe this fuckers luck. Not only were his wives all strong fighters, but they also somehow got along with each other. It just didn’t make sense. Most of my harem were constantly jockeying for position or undermining one another. The only argument they had was who was going to watch the children, and they agreed on one of their mothers, who was a smoking hot elf.

If I weren’t completely disgusted by women touched by other men, I’d have to take them all away from him, but as I only took virgins into my harem, I may have to kidnap them at a later time and give them to my men. They were top quality, and my men didn’t mind non-virgins. That would be after I got rid of this knight captain; he was just too honorable for me to trust in the future, and he wasn’t one of my trusted men, but someone on my father’s side who was sent to protect me.

It pissed me off. It should have been easy; we show up, kill him, then leave, but this fucking dungeon break came up and blocked me from just getting his murder done and over with. I had enough poison to get more than one person… Maybe I’ll kill my knight captain as well.

Knight Captain’s Point of View

I gripped my mace tightly as I tried to fight the urge to kill the person I was supposed to protect. He complained for the hundredth time as we pushed through the dungeon; instead of being quiet and prepared, all of us were growing irritated by him. We needed to hurry, or I’d be fighting this group while they tried to lynch him.

Mercenary Leader’s Point of View

I took another swig of alcohol the friendly farmer handed me as I tried my best not to kill the idiot who decided to come along with us. He was clearly here for some reason, and the death stare he kept laying on the man with all the wives, it wasn’t hard to figure out what he wanted. My mind knew him from somewhere; I had seen him before, but just couldn’t place where off the top of my head.

“This whiskey is so smooth, and you said you made it yourself?” He smiled as he said. “Well, I think my dwarven wife Delilah made that batch, but yeah. I do help make all the products we sell.” I was thinking about how to get my position moved to a closer location to this farm. I had been eating and drinking nonstop since we entered the dungeon. I’d be willing to pay a significant portion of my salary if it meant I got access to this delicious food every day.

First Prince’s Knight’s Point of View

How could I get so lucky? I arrived just as the boss was dying, and just watching the fight from the sidelines was enough for me to get three levels. Now, we were making our way to the dungeon core, which should be undefended, but the group I was in made it clear I wouldn’t need to do much. I ate another strawberry off the food golem the farmer had following us.

This was the easiest dungeon run I had ever been a part of, and I was getting to eat a bunch of beyond delicious fruits and vegetables as payment for helping destroy this rampaging core. This food is what I expected the nobles to eat, and I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to eat my fill as we made our way there. Everyone was in a good mood, except the random crybaby who kept complaining, which made me wonder why he even bothered coming.

…

We had gotten lucky so far; the path was mostly undefended. Some dungeons not only spawned monsters, but also placed traps. We hadn’t gone into a trap-filled dungeon yet, but we were nearing the end of this dungeon as well, so who knew if the next dungeon would be the same or much harder than this one?

The few fodder monsters were quickly dispatched, and most of the leaders hadn’t made any move to fight as we slowly made our way to the core. The problem was the idiot who decided to come with us, who was slowing us down. I could tell by his clothing, how the knight deferred to him, and his attitude that he was most likely a noble. And I had guessed a prince, but as time kept going on and his juvenile nature was revealed more and more, I wasn’t so sure anymore.

He didn’t behave like anyone I’d expect inside a dangerous dungeon like this, and he had taken to complaining and insulting the people protecting him. I hadn’t seen this arrogance in anyone, even the son of a major noble house. He had to be a prince of the king, because anyone else would have some level of wariness about being murdered for being so annoying.

I kept catching him glaring at me or leering at my women, and I knew that by the end of this dungeon, he had to suffer an ‘accident’. I was just hoping my wives and my luck would take over and deal with it so I didn’t have to. Another single berserk gorilla monster attacked us as one of the knights went to kill it. On the opposite side, a crocodile attacked, which Tems moved to intercept before it reached us.

The noble cried out again. “Gods, my boots are ruined from all this water. Is there any way we can stop and build a rickshaw or palankeen(palanquin) for all of you to carry me on?” I would have laughed, thinking the man was making a joke, but he was being completely serious. The knight only sighed. “We have to get out of this swamp as fast as possible, my prince. We don’t have the hours to make a palankeen, but if your feet are feeling sore, I can carry you on my back until we settle down for the night.”

He was a prince then. He must have been a high-ranking one as well if this high-level knight was placating him so much. After he said it, the mercenary leader chimed in. “Oh, that’s where I know you from. You’re the third prince.”

I kept walking but stopped when I remembered something said off-handedly. I pulled Cherry to the side to ask as I whispered. “That housewife who said I reminded her of the third prince. She was full of shit, right? If I act like that fucker, please tell me so I can pull my head out of my ass.”
