Chapter 41 Sarah’s date

Olivia and the other workers stopped their work as they eavesdropped on our conversation. My brain misfired at her straightforwardness. “Uhh… What?” Still smiling, she responded. “My class is gourmand, the fastest I can level is by eating good food, and your bundles are so high quality that they can turn normal meals into gourmet ones. I’m willing to offer myself, which is the only thing I have, as part of the deal for those bundles.”

“Y-you’re going to have to talk to my other wives. Our house is pretty packed already, so…” Me avoiding the question didn’t hamper her cheery attitude as she asked. “Alright then, which one do you think won’t agree? I talked with Tems, Silk, and Cherry. I wasn’t sure if Leaf counted or if the sex you had in the mayor’s house was a one-time thing?”

I felt myself curl inwards from embarrassment over what happened that day. I was still in my fight or flight mode when I offered to have sex with her in front of half of the town, thinking back on that situation made it hard for me not to feel embarrassed. “I… We should get to know each other at least, I don’t know anything about you.”

Her smile shifted like she had already won. “I’ll be around tonight after you finish work. It was nice meeting you.” Sarah moved in for a hug, and the only thing I could focus on was her massive breasts. Cherry was big, but Sarah was a cowgirl, they were known for their massive tits. I heard a rumor that they produced milk even if they never had a child; their body just naturally produced it.

I tried to walk away without everyone noticing my massive boner as one of my hands held my cock in place. Even now, with three, potentially four wives, I still couldn’t control my urges for other attractive women. If she dragged me to a room right now, I knew we’d have sealed the deal, so I was glad she didn’t. I didn’t want to be known as a loose man who’d just have sex with anyone… I chuckled to myself as that was probably how the town viewed me.

What sort of farmer has more than one wife? Well, I was an irregular farmer from the start. After all, I broke all the known conventional rules that most farmers followed, and it worked out for me in the end. Most of the women I slept with were the ones who pushed things forward in our relationship. Tems climbed into bed completely naked, Silk attacked me when she went into heat, and Cherry gave herself to me after the legendary strawberry we shared.

I initiated sex with Leaf, but it was more out of necessity, and our relationship was currently in an odd place where I wasn’t sure if we were together or not. Now, Sarah wanted to marry before we even knew each other, maybe it was just my go-with-the-flow attitude that women were attracted to. Who knew how long it would have taken me to make my move on Cherry if Tems didn’t show up? I just know that if Tems didn’t make the first move, we’d all be dead, most likely.

I spent the rest of the day pondering my situation before it was already time for our date. I had expected some blowback from my wives, but there was none; they all left with smiles on their faces, two carrying our children as they left us to get to know each other. I was nervous, more nervous than just having sex with her would have entailed.

Somehow, waiting until my fourth potential wife to finally take one of them on a date felt wrong. I knew that this was the start of me taking all of them on personal dates, and I just hoped they forgave me for waiting so long. I had been so focused on growing, so focused on survival, that I hadn’t really thought about anyone else.

That was going to change next year. I wouldn’t just sit on our farm and relentlessly grind levels through farming, when they asked me to go into the dungeon with them, I would. I heard a knocking on our door and thought to yell out, but decided to answer it instead. It isn’t that far of a walk after all. She was dressed in a black dress that barely contained her breasts. I remembered she wasn’t here for just sex, but to build a bond, so I broke off my eye contact with her assets. She gave me a knowing smile as I took her coat and we sat down to talk and eat.

Most families grew up knowing who they were going to marry from a young age. That, or they’d meet their partner exploring dungeons or having a service provided for them. The thought of courting wasn’t something commoners did and was considered more of a nobility thing. We talked as I got to know more about her, and she got to know me.

Sarah was a cow beastkin, which came with its own set of problems. People stereotyped them into being dumb, lust-crazed, big-titted bimbos. She had to shake off constant unwanted advances because of her race. On top of that, her class was a relatively rare one. It wasn’t an adventuring class or a professional class, but a class revolving around consumption. It made it much harder for her to level because those types of classes were more common for the nobility and were gold sinks.

She already knew quite a bit about me; she had set her target on me and had done her research. There wasn’t much known about me, except I had multiple wives and was driven to level, forgoing almost everything else. The few ‘talks’ I had with my other wives only went surface deep on my past; none of them bothered to get to know about my childhood.

We ate as we talked, she laughed a snort-like laugh which was endearing to me, the entire time she didn’t avoid why she wanted to become my wife. Those assorted bundles weren’t just rare, they were extremely valuable for her class. The gourmand class could level through other sources, but the main source was through consuming delicious, high-quality food.

Her class was made for the direction of the farmer I went, the higher quality fruits and vegetables I made would help her to level at a faster pace. As she rapidly leveled, she would feed me stats, which would let me grow higher quality produce, which would let her level faster, which would give me more stats. It was the most straightforward snowball effect I had ever seen in class combinations before.

I could see where she was coming from in a pragmatic way, but she also made an emotional argument. She had spent years grinding away at her class with the same fervor as I, but her class was much more difficult to start leveling. I couldn’t imagine leveling so slowly that it would take a year to reach only level twenty-five.

The vast majority of farmers went for low-quality/higher yield for their plants, which made the most sense. I had mostly lucked into my situation; if there was another farmer nearby already providing a higher quality product, mine wouldn’t sell for much, and I’d have made far more money with bulk over quality. It was a lack of supply of higher-quality products and creating new products that let me succeed, but I knew that wouldn’t be the case next year. I was a trend setter, and if anyone had eaten my better product and then got the farming class, it might make them pick the higher quality as well.
