Chapter 797 – Unhelpful options…

Aiko looked for a few solutions on how to solve this Wave, since she was not willing to fight it head on or even try to shoot it from distance.

She really wanted to take that mortar for a spin, but it cost 50,000 Soul Points and each shot was 10,000. Napalm shot being 100,000.

That was simply too expensive since she was broke compared to what she would have to spend to make this work.

Shaking her head gently, she would have to come up with something else.

Another canister of napalm wouldn't be bad, but the problem was that around that shitty village, there was a 'dirt-only' zone, making fire difficult to spread. And if she got too close to that place, they might sound an alarm or something similar, causing the whole thing to spiral out of control.

The alarms were bad, the scouts were bad, and the wolf riders were also bad. This situation was pretty bad overall.

"Hm?" Aiko tilted her head. If she decided to go full arsonist this time too, then why not take the flames and make them portable?

There was a 'flamethrower' inside the shop, but that thing was pricey.

What if she used the garden spray thingy and combined it with something that would light it ablaze? Would that work?

"But spending 10k just to see if it works..." Aiko groaned. This place was all about Soul Points, so wasting them like this... she didn't like that.

"But those other outfits..." Aiko sighed. There was simply no way that she would wear them, even this one was ridiculous, but at least not as ridiculous as the others.

With fewer options, Aiko decided to see her pets. She had nice loot from the wolves, and it didn't seem like she could unlock any wolf-type pets yet, so she could, in theory, spend everything on her Spirit Slime and then just let it do all the heavy lifting.

"The other slimes have something round and hard inside them, but the Spirit Slime has something slightly different. While you can still see something round, you can't touch it at all.

Maybe that was the idea behind slimes, that the higher tier would be more protected against its weaknesses, but that was just Aiko's guess.

Walking around the safe area, she stumbled upon an already familiar place.

Aiko walked inside unwillingly and looked around, immediately spotting something.

"Wave clear tutorial...?" Aiko blinked her eyes a few times. Was this always here? Was it making fun of her?

She gently opened the book and there was a symbol of the first wave.

"Blunt check. As long as you use blunt weapons, it's only a matter of dodging those nasty slimes." Aiko read the entry, scratching her head.

"Don't tell me..." Aiko groaned even more.

There was a symbol for a second wave and Aiko was now completely convinced.

"Covert Assassination check. You are not to be spotted while eliminating enemies in the tall grass." Aiko tilted her head. "Yeah, fuck this." She laughed like a maniac that just found a cheat code that she wouldn't use.

"Third would be... scouting check..." Aiko's lips twitched. How was one supposed to scout the forest when it was so confusing?!"

"You are to follow the wolves to their dens and eliminate them at once...?!" Aiko almost had a stroke.

"Ffffffff-" She was restraining herself really well, she didn't flip that table at all! She might or might not have made a finger imprint into the wood, but that was beside the point.

"Okay, breathe in and out." Aiko calmed herself down and read the next entry.

"Guerrilla tactics check. You are to slowly whittle down their numbers while they pursue you." Aiko read it with an incredulous expression on her face. "Why are you making everything so complicated...?"

Aiko groaned unhappily.

"Is there something else to do?" Aiko flipped the pages and inspected them closely.

"The Wave ends once the leader dies?" That seemed fair and Aiko didn't have any complaints. The leaders tent was also very obvious, so if she was able to, it would be better to take it down first.

"But if there are multiple leaders, things will get complicated." Aiko nodded her head slowly. She would have to figure out how to do everything.

Maybe she could buy one canister of the sweet juicy napalm and then use it as a firebomb for the village? That seemed plausible, and it was probably a better option than the dubious flamethrower.

"No wait, what if I try the flamethrower first and even if it ruins the gardening tool, she could still throw it inside the village and then just shoot it from some distance to make it go boom!

"That doesn't seem too bad." Aiko nodded her head seriously. There were a few things that she was worried about, like the scouts or how she would get close enough to the village to throw it inside since she didn't want to risk breaking the canister if she used the sling.

And it didn't seem like it, but the canister was quite heavy, so throwing it accurately might also be a tall task.

"Gosh, I don't know any more." Aiko just gave up temporarily. It was not like the Wave was trying to run away from her.

For now, she would return home for another nap and then see her little slimes again.

...

The next day she checked up on the cave.

Both the Spirit Slime and Slime were doing great, but the sludge was not doing too good.

That was because the Spirit Slime had the biggest presence and cave due to being higher tier than the others.

Meanwhile, the Slime was just trying to nod along, while the sludge was quivering in the corner.

"Gosh. What am I supposed to do about this situation?" Aiko didn't have enough experience to do anything with this situation and if she messed up, she might even lose these slimes!

"It would be nice if they also had respawns." Aiko nodded her head thoughtfully.

"Maybe there are more books in the library?" Aiko thought about it, but she didn't really want to visit any time soon, considering that book about Waves.

"It will sort itself out." Aiko nodded her head before touching the gooey stuff. At first, it was an unpleasant situation, since this was not processed slime, but the texture was enough to keep her addicted for a long time.

"Wait..." Aiko smirked. She had a devilish idea.

"How about I dig a hole?" Aiko chuckled. It would be possible, just dig a hole straight towards where the main tent was located, kill the dude and leave the same way!

"This will work." Aiko kept nodding her head. She just needed basic tools for this, but it would be a monumental success!

"The problem is distance..." Aiko groaned. She would have to include the distance, elevation and other things when digging a tunnel.

One wrong move and she could completely miss that tent.

For this, Aiko also had a nice idea, so she went around shops to see if they were selling what she needed. She was looking for anything that would allow her to map her surroundings and see what was around her.

This would allow her to find the main tent and kill the leader, but once again, there was a problem.

"There are no abilities like that. Well, there was, but it would pull all the aggro on her, making things impossible to finish.

Especially if she was underground. That taunt would cause them to dig to where she was located which would mean she would be forced to fight with everyone that was in the vicinity.

"Gosh and it was such a good plan." Aiko sighed. She also had different plans, but the lack of funds was obvious.

She needed more money, but to obtain money she would have to kill monsters and in order to kill monsters she would have to endanger herself to make it happen.

"What to do..." She also considered flying over, since there were some contraptions that were supposed to allow her to do that.

However, their price was so ridiculous that she didn't even consider it.

It was more expensive than the mortar WITH ammunition combined.

Bobbing her head, she was trying to think of something else.

"Bait them? But then how am I going to kill them? By staying in the safety area?" Aiko shook her head several times. That was not a possibility, since she wanted those Soul Points, the more, the merrier.

"Hmmmm..." Aiko thought of using those long things called grenades and just throwing them as far as possible, but she didn't believe she would be able to hit the main tent from such a distance.

"Back to square one, that's just amazing..." Aiko shook her head again. She didn't want to fight, even if it wouldn't kill her for real, dying was a painful thing that she would rather not experience.

She returned to the slime homes to check on them.

The Spirit Slime was growing well. She could speed up the process, but she didn't do that yet, just in case it would consume all of her materials and resources.

"And if I'm going to feed something. I will do it until it's completely full." Aiko knew the pains where you ate too little because it would no longer fit into her stomach.

"Wait, how do I know that?" Aiko titled her head, pondering, but she couldn't remember reading anything like that!

"I wanna quit." Aiko sighed again. This situation was so troublesome.

"Wait the armour." Aiko could go tank mode and with a mace or something similar, she still should be able to deal plenty of damage with longer and heavier weapons!

Aiko liked this idea a lot and since it would still allow her to go on rampage with just... slower recovery.

"Is there a light armour that I could use, that wouldn't lose anything and would also give me most of my mobility back?" Aiko was very demanding, but there were actually a few designs that could be used for that.

Aiko could already hear that annoying voice say no, but it couldn't be helped. Rare materials were rare even here.

Anything that had to do with crafting was a shit fest because everyone believed they were better than others.

"Still feels like I should give up." Aiko sighed. The scale armour was nice, but it would make too much noise.

No, a lot of them were making a lighter version, so she would be very limited. Maybe if she could adjust the design? But they wouldn't allow that either for the time being...
