Chapter 313 – Levels and Teasing
Aiko was scolded severely for hours by Mei and the Dragon, while the rest of the team was enjoying the roasted chicken.
Naturally, this kicked Aiko down a notch, which caused her to revert into her Moon form.
At first, the Dragon was concerned that this scolding was a bit too much, but he didn't wish to go against his old crush.
...
After a few days of resting, Mei decided that Aiko had been punished enough to allow her to eat it too.
Aiko was overjoyed and swore that she would bother Mei while she was asleep.
Mei, like always, got a headache, but Aiko was already next to the roasted juicy meat.
*Munch*[Level gained!]
Aiko stiffened. It's been a while since she saw this familiar pop-up. Most meat no longer gave her any experience, much less levels. But with just a few small pieces; she was able to level up!
Aiko munched on it like her life depended on it. This would save her a lot of system meats and allow her to not use them for the time being.
The Dragon watched Aiko strangely. That small Fox was getting stronger and stronger by eating. He couldn't understand why she was also getting more beautiful, so he asked Mei.
"Ignore it." Mei gave him this answer while massaging her own temples.
It was obvious to the Dragon that this pained her too, but he still asked one more thing.
'Is she a descendant of Taotie?' He already knew that she was from 'that' clan, but if she was also Taotie... that would be an issue.
'She is not.' Mei used telepathy to talk back to him. 'Or at least I have not seen any signs of her getting ravenously hungry and trying to eat anything in her path...' She sighed.
'How strange...' The Dragon narrowed its eyes.
Mei's lips twitched. At least someone could understand her pain.
...
Aiko by herself munched half of the roasted chicken, which shocked everyone.
She licked her lips and looked at her level.
[Level: 50->500 (5th Evolution)]
Aiko needed level 700 for her next Evolution, since she was aiming for the Demonic branch due to her [Shadow Spirit Fennec Fox]. She wanted to combine her Bloodlines to give her something stronger than what the twins had!
Like this, she had to only eat 200 pieces of meat to achieve the Threshold of Evolution and then she could wreak havoc in this place!
Moreover, she also noticed that Mei and others feared the Twins, because of their unique tails, so Aiko wanted those too as an additional safety measure.
You are less likely to pick a fight against someone who can threaten you~!
Aiko nodded to herself happily and cleaned her face. Her team was still staring at her in disbelief that she was able to eat so much of it...
...
Mei finished harvesting the Herbs with Aiko watching over her. It was all stored in her Tails, but most of them Aiko did not know. She would have to study the Jade Slip again once she got out.
Mei nodded happily. Finally, this 'gift' was over and she could lay down and rest for a few days.
She noticed Aiko sneak near her, but ignored it this time. Having Aiko's attention once in a while was not a bad thing. Moreover, she also felt more rested when Aiko did those strange things, but she would definitely beat the old fogey up, lest he teach Aiko even more weird stuff!
There was also the issue that she should confess that this whole thing happened because of her, but it was postponed and postponed, so it was fine to keep it under wraps for the time being.
Meanwhile, the Dragon observed Aiko curiously. That strange energy made her stronger, but it also felt like that same energy could vanish within a moment of notice. This told him that the power that Aiko gained through eating was not permanent and would vanish. He didn't know when, but it would happen.
'Maybe I should teach her how to retain it, but then...' The Dragon didn't have enough information about this energy and if it was tied to Providence like everything else, it would cause trouble for those that gave Aiko this power. Maybe that was why they didn't make this power permanent, since they would lose Providence too quickly, but by killing powerful beings they could twist the rules and give Aiko more power?
That felt like it was closer to the truth, but Aiko did not kill this Flying Chicken, he did. Aiko just ate it, but still gained power, so it seems like the Providence system is much more complex than he expected.
He also couldn't see Providence currently, since he was locked in here. The best would be an outline, but how much and how often this thing consumed Providence, that he did not know...
...
Aiko weaselled Mei's head on her lap. She would play with Mei's hair and help her sleep so that Mei would be gentler on Aiko next time she got herself in trouble.
While she did learn not to steal too many times from the same person, she believed that it would not be a problem if everything was stolen at once.
This was a World where stealing was a must if one wanted to survive. Through stealing you could get a lot more power and survive easier, this allowed her to steal more stuff and make everything easier on her!
Aiko nodded at her own genius and kept caressing Mei.
...
The next day Mei was a bit too rested and in a bit too good mood, so she pinched Aiko.
Aiko massaged her cheek as Mei wrapped her arms around one of Aiko's tails.
Aiko flinched and panicked, but she did not have the will to push Mei away.
Mei enjoyed the tail, gently brushing it with her fingers, enjoying the flushed expression that Aiko had.
She would tease her like this for a while, until Aiko realised that she shouldn't chase after tails and sleep in them.
Mei also could feel the gaze of someone else piercing her Soul, but that was definitely the Blood Fox.
'Everyone is so contradictory...' Said one of the most contradictory beings there was...
Aiko soon gave up on her struggle and just let Mei nuzzle her tails. At first, Aiko was embarrassed, but over time that feeling... felt quite nice, so she started to caress Mei's hair.
They were in their own little world until one uninvited guest spoke.
"Now you look like proper Mates." The Dragon nodded happily.
The pair flinched out of their own little world and they quickly separated, especially Mei which was as quick as a flash of lightning.
Mei was so engrossed in enjoying the attention and affection she was getting that she completely forgot who she was getting that attention from.
She still felt conflicted, but there was no denying that Aiko was beautiful, especially in her big form.
There was the 'big boob apprehension', but Mei could get over it as long as she spent enough time with Aiko.
And that would be possible since Mei would achieve Human Form. After she evolved to the next stage, during that evolution you could choose to also undergo Human Transformation. If you could survive that combined power, you would obtain more powerful Spiritual Roots.
That in turn would allow you to Cultivate faster, which Mei was after. Moreover, since she would Evolve in the Secret Realm, the 'Heavenly Lightning' would be much, much weaker and Mei could pass it quite easily.
On the other hand, it was taboo to Evolve in the Secret Realm, but who cares about that rule since it was imposed by the damn Humans!
Mei nodded to herself and prepared her Cauldron. She had already pushed what happened with Aiko to the back of her mind.
For some reason, Aiko felt a bit hurt, but she didn't know why, so she likewise pushed it aside and assisted Mei.
"I will use a few of the Herbs with the grass as kindling." Mei said gently, but then turned towards Aiko. "You wouldn't happen to have special water that could enhance the Herbs?"
Aiko shook her head. She grabbed her tail and stuck her hand inside, pulling a bit of the water out.
"I only have this, but I have no idea-" Aiko was startled when she saw both Mei and the Dragon glued to her.
"That is Light-Water, right?" The Dragon asked Mei who was more knowledgeable.
"It appears so, but this feels a bit different." Mei confirmed his suspicion.
"Oho..." The Dragon nodded. "She must've robbed quite a few inheritances for this." He chuckled.
"It was in my tails after my Evolution." Aiko replied normally, but the Dragon almost choked to death.
"This is not normal! She is not normal! Why are you all so damn abnormal!" The Dragon for the first time broke his wise demeanour and burst out.
Mei nodded happily, it was about time that Aiko broke him too. She was happy that she was not the only one to break from Aiko's behaviour.
"How much do you have?" Mei ignored the big Dragon who was making a fool of himself and asked Aiko gently.
"1,000 litres." Aiko replied to Mei with a smile.
Mei completely froze, her mind was unable to process that information.
"Y-you mean 1 litre, right?" Mei's face kept twitching.
"1,000- Mei?!" Aiko was startled when Mei fainted again.
One was thrashing around and throwing a tantrum, while the other fainted.
Aiko had a headache, but she didn't care enough about the Dragon to explain everything to him, so she moved Mei and took care of her until she woke up.
...
Mei woke up the next day with a migraine. Her head throbbed from the constant shocks she was getting from Aiko.
Mei blinked and stared at Aiko. "You know that 1 litre has 1,000 units, right?"
Aiko didn't know that measurement, but still nodded.
"That means you would have 1,000,000 units of incredibly rare light-water." Mei explained again, but Aiko nodded.
"That light-water is precious even if you have 100 units, but you have 1,000 litres...?" Mei felt like her mind was breaking down when Aiko nodded again.
She didn't know what to do with Aiko so she plopped down. It was quite the soft pillow and Mei soon fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Aiko had the most conflicted time of her life. Mei just nestled on her bosom, but she didn't know what to do with her.
Mei liked to tease Aiko if she was nice to Mei. A good example were the tails, but now that Mei nestled on her bosom...
Aiko gulped with fear, but there was also a tinge of excitement bubbling inside her. What would happen if Mei woke up? Would she tease her? But what kind of teasing would that be? The one that happened in stories that Mei told?
Aiko's mind spun a few circles and gulped again, only time will tell what Mei will do...
