Chapter 249 – Evolution is upon us

A huge vortex formed around Aiko as her body slowly changed. This effect was currently still concealed by the Arrays that the Ghosts created, but it would be impossible to conceal it forever.

Aiko's ever-hungry bloodlines would gobble up everything in their path during evolution, and this one's origin from the Immortal World made it far hungrier than normal. The requirements to evolve safely were astronomical.

The Qi Gathering Arrays could not collect enough Qi without compromising the ambient Qi stability.

Aiko was already draining them dry...

The First thing to go were the weapons enhanced with Qi that were littered inside of arrays to squeeze out just a bit more Qi. They crumbled to dust as Aiko squeezed everything from them.

The next thing to go was the Water Shard. It was sucked dry by Aiko, which allowed her to obtain the Water Elemental Affinity. This time it was Water Affinity.

The next step was the Qi Gathering Arrays that were created from Ghost Qi. Aiko's body munched on them like they were candies, collapsing them all in short fashion.

This boosted her Soul's Affection by a bit.

Yet, Aiko was still very hungry. The whole place was so drained from ambient Qi that even the Ghosts shivered at that consumption.

The weakest Storage Ring crumbled and was consumed by Aiko.

The second Storage Ring crumbled, and 100,000 Spirit Stones went into Aiko's stomach.

[Evolution adjustments were interrupted!][Recalculating the end goal.]

While the system was panicking since the 'creator' suddenly stopped feeding it information. Aiko's body had already changed, but the end goal was still not in sight.

Yet another Storage Ring crumbled, but this time it was different.

Inside that Storage Ring was a special vial that Aiko obtained in the fallen kingdom. The same vial that she tried to use as a holding container for the strange liquids.

"And how about you just go away!" The Seed snorted, trying to handle the humongous vortex of Qi.

"You are just seeking fun yourself!" The Seed scoffed at the Essence.

[??? turned away, not meeting the Special Seed's gaze.]

*Gibberish* The Seed cursed this wilful child!

[??? said that time is running out.][??? said that she would help with the Special Seeds evolution to lessen the burden.][??? offered a deal one last time.]

"Tsk. Fine!" The seed reluctantly agreed, but she had to say that the evolution part was very tempting, since this little Fox didn't pay as much attention to her. "But the person inside the Storage Pouch is mine!" She snorted at the Essence.

[??? agreed on the conditions.][??? forcefully increased the Vitality inside the User's body and channelled it towards the Seed.]

"Hey! You bastard! That's too much." The Seed winced from the sudden surge of Vitality.

"Alright..." A very mature yet soothing voice drifted from the seed. "I will do my part, but block the 'system' since it would bankrupt 'them' otherwise." The Seed spoke gently, no longer as naughty as before.

[??? said that it already blocked the Heavenly Dao for the time being.][??? said that it was unsure about how it would affect the 'system'.]

"That is enough. Someone needs to 'control' it to give gifts and make decisions. As long as no one is controlling it, then everything is alright." The Seed spoke gently. "As long as the bastard behind Heavenly Dao only causes a Heavenly Disaster, then we will be alright."

[??? said that it doesn't find that all that good.]

"You are a newbie, so you have no idea what this kid does." The Seed chuckled sinisterly, as if the Essence was yet another pawn on the little Fox's paws.

[??? shivered from those words, but it could not understand them.]

"I'm speechless that you believe that this amount of Qi consumption is normal." The Seed shook her head.

[??? said that this was a common sight in the Immortal World.]

"And where are we?" The Seed shook her head, amused.

[??? did not know what to say.][??? observed her surroundings.][??? found the current situation dangerous.]

"There is no way I will allow you to bail right now~!" The Seed laughed. "I will make you my partner!" She giggled happily.

The Seed used her knowledge to enrich the 'system' a bit more.

[???] -> [Primordial Dew Essence]

[??? - 100/10] -> [Primordial Dew Goddess Kitsune (Dormant)]

[Secret Bloodline was uncovered!][System is not operating correctly...][There is not enough room for this Bloodline!]

"I'm working on it. Shut up!" The Seed scoffed at the headless 'system'.

[Age: 10.7/2,000]V[Age: 10.8/2,000]V[Age: 10.9/2,000]..................[Age: 29.9/2,000]V[Age: 30/2,000]

"Phew..." The Seed massaged her strained back. This took way too much time and the Heavenly phenomenon was already upon them.

She would have to solve her maturity in a different way, since it was impossible to make it like this.

[Species: [Moon Fennec Fox] can undergo evolution!]

"Oh?" The Seed tilted her head. "I didn't think the 'system' would work even without 'head'..." She narrowed her eyes.

[Species: [Moon Fennec Fox] can Evolve into [Blessed Moon Fennec Fox]!]

"That's not much of a change..." The Seed shook her head. This 'system' was truly useless without a 'head'.

[Species: [Moon Fennec Fox] is not powerful enough to advance the life stage, but [Blessed Moon Fennec Fox] can bypass this restriction as it's considered a Holy Beast!]

"WHAT?!" The Seed was left completely speechless. "Aren't we skipping too many stages?!" She questioned the 'system'.

[Species: [Shadow Spirit Fennec Fox] is considered a Beast Rank.][Divine Ability: [Duality of Cultivation] can bridge this discrepancy and allow balance.]

"..." The Seed was left completely dumbfounded as she did not know all that much about the little Fox. She didn't like the little Fox since she was held captive in her body, unable to escape.

She could not accept the fact that the little Fox was innocent in the whole 'captive' process, she just needed to vent her anger.

Now things have changed. Not only did the little Fox obtain something beneficial for the Seed, she even found a small prodigy with high affinity with her own Element.

She could ignore the things that happened to her and make some amends, but to think that the little Fox had something as outrageous as [Duality of Cultivation]! Good thing she didn't go against her otherwise it would not end up well!

"How much energy will that take?" The Seed asked.

[Qi should be sufficient.]

"I worry about the Qi part, but go for it!" The Seed commanded and braced herself against the Heavenly Disaster.
