12 – Warming Up

Once the opposing team realised he might actually be a threat now they made sure he was covered which prevented him from making any further impressive feats. He might be much improved from what he was the last P.E. class, but that meant he had only lifted himself from way below average to average which just wasn't enough once they were paying attention to him.

Surprising him when the game ended and they headed off the field Kate actually came over.

"Hey. That was great!" she said with an excited smile.

"Thanks! It was kind of fun," he answered still panting.

He was surprised she was actually reaching out to him even when she didn't need to anymore.

Looking at her closer she was kind of cute. She might be a little chubby and not the kind of hot Mara was, but she still had the cute girl next door look going on.

"You've been working much harder today, what brought on the change?" she asked him curiously.

"Just wanted to turn over a new leaf so I started working out," he told her with a slightly nervous smile.

"Well keep it up! You're doing much better than last week," she said with an encouraging smile.

'Wait, how did she know that?' he wondered.

"Thanks, " he told her with a smile.

He wondered why he hadn't really noticed her before. She didn't stand out too much as it was and he had been pretty depressed for the last few years at least until he got the system. Looking back he had stopped paying as much attention to his surroundings when he lost hope he would ever have a chance in this life. The only things that had been on his mind was how miserable his life was, avoiding the bullying as much as he could and escaping into his hobbies such as gaming and reading. Anything he could do while hiding away in his room.

"Alright, wrap it up and get your asses to the showers!" the coach yelled to the class.

They ended up having to split up to go to the locker rooms.

In the locker room Jeffrey was going around with his friends bragging about his performance and exaggerating what he did despite not actually having done much of the work and relying on the rest of his team to dominate the other team.

Dave could only shake his head at the delusion. Jeffrey might be absolutely brilliant in academics, but he was just average at sports. With how fast his current progress was it wouldn't take long to surpass Jeffrey at least in P.E. and he would like to see how he reacted then.

He suspected at least at first the bullying would get worse to try to keep him under his thumb when it seemed he was finally breaking free. Maybe he should learn some form of martial art he wondered. He knew it would work very well with his new physical ability since his father had gone into this world's form of MMA and performed very well purely due to this ability. Now that he had it it should be the same. If he could also get some abilities to speed up his learning ability and perception he would even be able to catch up and surpass his father in no time. He couldn't spend years getting up to his father's skill level after all and didn't want to only be good at fighting like his father.

He decided he would need to look into what forms of martial arts to pursue. He couldn't ask his father since he would rather avoid him for now and was more likely to harm than help him so he would need to rely on his old friend the internet.

The rest of the day was thankfully mostly uneventful with only the usual ostracisation rather than any direct bullying. The only improvement was that Kate seemed to look for him and talk with him when they shared classes now which helped break up the monotony. Small steps he thought.

The jog back home was effortless again. He would need to pick up the pace going forward or maybe add some weights to make it harder. That latter would cost money though and he didn't have much of that. His father didn't like giving him pocket money and what little he did manage to get out of him when his mood was good had already been spent on his hobbies. When he got home it was just Jackie and him. His father wasn't there which was unusual.

"Where is he?" he asked her curiously.

"Don't you remember he has a match this weekend? He is spending more time in his gym doing his last minute preparations for it," she told him.

With everything that had been happening this week it had entirely slipped his mind, not that he spent that much thought on his father's career as he tried to avoid him as much as possible. However usually he would be aware of his matches since it was one of the few things other than abuse his father liked to go on about at home. Since it was the only thing his father was happy about he wouldn't shut up about it.

Dave planned to actually watch the match for once. He was rather curious just how much losing his ability would have affected him after about a week. So far his father had seemed a bit more lethargic than usual, but beyond that there didn't seem to be any drastic changes yet, but a high stakes fight would squeeze him for everything he had making the actual changes more obvious.

"Oh that's right," he mumbled in though.

"So...that means we're... all... alone," she said with a teasing smile.

'Oh she is turning into a complete seductress,' he thought. He had never seen this side of her before and he couldn't lie. It was very exciting.

She even ended up dragging him to the master bedroom and fucking him in her marital bed. With how much more animated she was in there than she had even been the past few days he was sure the feeling of doing it on the bed of her abuser was adding a lot of spice to the experience.
