String Of Fate(?)

“That was in the future so nothing has happened to us now. That’s why I understand their thoughts of not taking chances with him.” Olga shook her head, true to his words that the man returned her dignity to her thanks to Celestine.

That dream did not have any effect on her body, just that it was tough to watch herself in that situation, but it was important to know her mistakes so she wouldn’t make them again.

“If that is what you think, why did you go through so much trouble just to get a chance at torturing him?” Maia’s words made Vult’s face go white.

He was already confused, but now the situation was getting worse. His strength was gone and now he was about to be tortured, even then he couldn’t speak.

‘What is happening? Why won’t my voice come out?’ He didn’t know that the collar around his neck had many more functions than just limiting his strength. But he had no time to think about it now, as he would learn about them in due time.

“I am not doing this because of what he did to me, as said that was in the future so it never happened. But what he did to Chloe is something I cannot forgive, even if it was in the future I can never look past that. And for that, I will make him suffer enough to question his birth.” Olga’s hand gripped at the armrest, her anger was justified and Maia understood even if this woman was not being fully truthful.

But all of that didn’t matter…

“You said you wanted to see him suffer, right?” Olga walked towards the nearby table, and picked up a pair of twisted iron tweezers with her thin fingers. The yellow eyes glowed dangerously in the dimly lit room, and this was the first time Maia felt truly intimidated, “Then be prepared to stay here for a while.”

‘That’s too much…’ After seeing what happened to Vult that day, Maia couldn’t eat anything for a few days.

She hated Vult, but she had underestimated Olga’s hate. The woman had gone through everything she could to make that man suffer, the collar around his neck was an ancient artifact used for torture. It took away a person’s strength, their senses, amplified certain senses, and it also had healing capabilities.

So, she had been using that to take away Vult’s senses of sight, while amplifying the sense of touch, increasing the pain he felt. His screeches echoed in the basement as that was the only time he was allowed to use his voice, and it gave the guards standing outside nightmares.

‘How long has it been… I want to sleep… let me eat something…’ Vult’s breaths were now uneven, but he could do nothing except look at the ceiling.

How much time had passed? He had no idea. How much time had passed since he was put in this chamber? He couldn’t tell as there was no way of knowing. For how long was tortured? Again he had no idea.

All he knew was that Olga had stopped coming as the damage to his body had gotten so bad that the artifact couldn’t heal him anymore. The things he had been through weren’t great, he could barely speak right now. His vocal cords were ripped, and to prevent him from biting his tongue he was gagged.

And right now…

All he could feel was the water droplet that fell on his forehead to keep him awake, it had been like this for a while and he thought that this wasn’t that bad compared to what he had been through.

‘Just you all wait… I will rape you all bitches… Just you wait…’ Vult’s eyes were completely red, he planned to endure this waiting for the moment they slipped up.

But after days of being tortured on an empty stomach and not being allowed to sleep, his mental toughness had been broken to the point that he couldn’t stay sane after just 2 hours into the water torture.

‘Killmekillmekillmekilleme Fuck!!!!!!! Kill me!’ Sitting on a thorny chair that dug into his naked body, he couldn’t think of anything else as the icy water kept dripping on his forehead at an unsteady rhythm that did not allow him any respite.

5, 7, 10, 15, and finally at the twenty-hour mark, Vult died in his piss and feces. The cause of death was excessive bleeding with starvation and dehydration for two weeks straight as worms and insects gnawed at his infected wounds, it was a wonder that he survived that long.

And the reason he lasted that long was simple, he wanted revenge. Revenge on the Seven Shields, Revenge on Olga, Revenge against the world for putting him through that. He didn’t do anything to deserve that, he didn’t need to go through that!

‘All of this is those bitches fault…’ Even in death, he couldn’t let go of that hatred. It burned in his very soul, and that was because he was innocent.

He did not do anything to them, only technically though. But there was no way for him to know about that. That is why in a way his hatred for them was justified, just like their actions against him.

‘I don’t want to die until I torture them all, I will make them miserable. All of them! I just need a chance… just one chance!’ Vult wouldn’t let this go, he was ready to do whatever it took to get his revenge.

And unbeknownst to Vult, the heavens smiled at him.

“What is that door?” His eyes were taken in by the wooden door floating in a dark space that he was falling into.

‘All of your wishes can be granted if you are willing to sacrifice.’ The words etched on the pristine white paper were the only things he could see.

Without rhyme or reason, he moved towards the door, if he could have his way. There was nothing Vult wouldn’t sacrifice. With Adam’s intervention, the world’s defense against foreign presence lowered considerably as the barrier was still in repair, and this vigilance was especially low against those who shared the same origin as him.

Vult twisted the handle in a hurry and pushed the heavy door open, beyond it was a simple room with two couches and a table in the middle.

“Welcome to the shop that will fulfill your wish for a tiny sacrifice!” And seated on one of these couches, the beautiful woman in a qipao showed him a warm smile.

Staring at her beauty he was certainly blinded for a minute, but she just laughed it off and moved the subject.

“What would you like? Tea, coffee, or some alcohol?” Thankfully, this question was enough to put him out of the enchantment of her red eyes.

“I want my revenge.” He said. Vult will not forget that no matter what happens, he will not rest until he pushes those women into a deeper despair than what he experienced.

“Oho? Promising words,” With a smile she turned to the maid standing behind her, “Mellissa, bring out the second best white wine that I have in reserve along with that Dim-sum you made.”

“As you wish milady~!” Mellissa skipped away with a cheerful spring in her feet as the blue-haired butler eyed her with jealousy. But ignoring that, the woman turned back to Vult with a smile still adorning her red lips.

‘To think that such an opportunity will fall right into my lap.’ She smirked subtly licking her lips, ‘Goddess of Wishes, as mighty as you are…… even you cannot sever the string of Fate that connects us.’ the slight aura of divinity left on this man was prove of that.

“Now, tell me how you want me to help.” The anticipation bubbled in her chest with each passing moment, just a few more contracts and then she would be able to get to him.

‘I will not allow you to monopolize him like you want to. He is mine, and will always be mine. That is something I, Ha-Neul can assure you of.’
