12: Makima

After finishing my food I was having some tea and it was really soothing. And there was another thing that I wanted to mention.

"Adam, did you get stronger?" I asked something I had on my mind for a while.

"Hmm? Maybe?" He himself was unsure.

'Did that idiot not explain to him about the benefits of her blessings?' I thought while looking at him, maybe I should explain it to him?

"Come here let me check," I said since I was feeling generous today, I had some really good food after all.

"So, YOU were interested in my body after all, Not Happening!" He said that and my face twitched like it had never before.

"Go To Hell!!" I stood up and stormed towards the front door.

"Hey!" He called out to me and my steps halted. A smile crept up my face.

'Hmph! It is too late to realize your mistake now, But I may forgive you if you are sincere enough,'

"Don't forget about the deal, okay?" I have never been this infuriated in my life.

"Of course I won't!!" I just went out of the door stomping my feet in anger.

"Unbelievable that one, does he take me for someone who doesn't keep her word?" I was enraged that he thought so low of me, so I had to do this to the best of my ability.

'I'll send a woman who will never leave you no matter what, Then you'll understand how great I am!' I took off my blindfold and opened my eyes.

'I want to save ****. I want ***** to have a happy life. ...th... I wish I had a bottomless wallet that always has the exact amount of money I need for any purchase. I wish I could talk to plants and convince them to grow in the shape of famous celebrities. I wish I had a magical pair of socks that would always find their matching pair in the laundry. I want ***** to see hell!! …..th....I need power to make them all pay. .....ay,' I could hear millions of voices in my ears all wishing for something or someone. There were ones made with goodwill and ones made with great malice, then there were the weird wishes in between.

I ignored that and with my eyes, I began to search for the woman that will be the ideal partner.

A few hours later after finding several candidates, I was able to find the one I was looking for.

'Let's see if you can still look down on me after this, Hmph!!' And with that, I sent the door in front of a woman with pale auburn hair.

??? POV

26/02/1997 Tokyo, Japan.

It was just another day.

It didn't matter whether the weather was sunny or not, nor did it matter if the sun had risen from the west. As long as one wants, any day could be a normal productive day. Just like today…

"Who's this?" I looked at the scruffy blond-haired boy in front of me as he looked at the black-haired human next to him.

"Denji, His name is Hayakawa Aki, he's been here for three years now and today you'll go with him," I said as Denji looked at the human I just introduced and then faced me again.

"…But wasn't I gonna work with you?" He said and I didn't need to answer.

"Obviously not," Aki spoke himself and pulled Denji by his collar, "You are not even close to her level. Come on, we're patrolling,"

"NO!! Makima!!!" Denji screamed my name while being pulled away.

It was clear that this boy was infatuated with me to a certain level. But what he was smitten with was my body as a woman and things I provided him with, Not me…

'There is still some ways to go,' I thought and stepped forward leaning in closer to Denji's face so that he can hear me clearly.

"If you do your job well, we can work together. So, do your best," With that, the two left my office and I sat down on my chair once again.

I may not have him under my control but it is only a matter of time before that happens. And then…

'We'll meet again Chainsaw Devil,' A smile crept up on my lips when I thought about it.

I will soon be able to achieve my plans, for now, I just need to move the people that need to be near Denji and that will be it.

And while I was thinking that something unusual happened.

"A ...door?" Right in the middle of my office, a door appeared.

'I didn't feel anything,' I stood up and walked up to the door with just the frame.

'A note?' I read the note which was taped on the door.

'It would fulfill a wish of mine for a price?' I wasn't interested in the wish it was talking about since I didn't its help with that.

The only one I needed was the Chainsaw Devil.

But the thing I was thinking about was...

'Did a new variable pop up?' I couldn't understand how this door got here, and who sent it since I couldn't even notice it.

So, now I could only do one thing.

"I should make sure to see who is behind this," I can't let something unknown lurk around here when it could very well get in my way.

It is not that I minded it getting in my way, it is just that.

'It should be under my control,' With that thought I turned the doorknob and pushed the door open.

And I was immediately greeted by the voice of a cheerful male as soon as the door closed behind me.

"Welcome to the Wish Shop, How may I help you?" I say the voice of a male because I couldn't understand what he was.

Human? Devil? Fiend? Hybrid? It didn't match anything I knew, but I knew of one thing.

"Miss?" He tilted his head as I point my finger at him and…

"Bang!" A powerful force left my finger and struck him, I didn't hold back because I had no intention of testing him. But…

"Oi, What are you doing?" He was fine but his voice seemed to have changed, not a single scratch on him even if the carpet on the ground was torn, as the couches and the table was blown away hitting the paintings on the wall.

The whole room was in disarray but he stood there even after taking a hit, No that isn't right.

'It didn't hit him, rather it hit something else, a defensive type?' I was certain about that and was once again ready to attack but…

"I asked you, what are you doing?" He was already in front of me before I knew it, but that shouldn't have stopped me from attacking.

Even then I couldn't attack him right now, Why?

Because my head was on the ground next to the pile of neatly cut body that should be mine.

'He's strong,' I was cut down into tens of pieces before I even knew it, not to mention I didn't even see when he drew out that sword and reached me.

"Form a contract with me," I told him while looking at him.

"Then why make such a mess in the first place?" It seems like he misunderstood me.

"The contract I am talking about is one where you serve me," A contract of eternal servitude whether he is dead or alive.

"No can't do that is against the rules," It was a shame then, I guess there is only one way now.

'I need to defeat him,' That was my thought until my body didn't heal as it should.

"It won't work," I looked up at him and he explained, "Any contract you have from outside is cut the moment you step inside here. So, you will not be healed like you are expecting."

'This will make things difficult,' I thought as he spoke to me again.

"Did you just think that it would be a bit difficult to defeat me in your current state," It seems like he had read my intentions. Well, I never intended to hide it.

"How many lives do you get through your contract?" He asked me straightforwardly and I answer in the same manner.

"126,176,969." Every time I died a random Japanese citizen would be killed in my place, this was the contract I made with the Prime minister of Japan in exchange of working for Japan.

The man in front of me was powerful but I can best him and the number of sacrifices didn't matter as it is a necessary expenditure for the future.

But, now I seemed to not have the chance to use that to my advantage at least that is what I thought till I heard him.

"Ok, then that's the number of chances you get,"
