A Mistake?
"Do you understand why I am disapproving of this?" But instead of answering it himself, Zeoticus looked at Adam.
"Hmm, That is simple, you don't want Rias's image to be tarnished since it wouldn't look good if she already has a fiancé just a few days after she broke her previous engagement, it would also be bad for the Phenex family as it can cause gossip and this topic can cause the relationship between the two houses to sour as well because Riser will also have bear the brunt for this," Adam didn't even to think about that since it was just that simple.
"It is as you said, do you understand now Rias?" Zeoticus looked at Rias who was still visibly pissed but after hearing Adam's explanation it made sense, not to mention that she even forgot what Grayfia had told her before and made this hasty move of bringing Adam here.
'Did I make a mistake?' Rias knew that she was hasty but she had her reasons for doing this but she didn't expect things to go this way.
"I approve of your engagement with Adam as the Head of The Gremory Clan but you will need to wait till enough time passes to make it official," Zeoticus said and Rias looked at her with wide eyes.
"Father…"
"Don't look so surprised, I did promise you that I would allow you to choose your partner as the Head of the Gremory Clan, so, of course, I won't swallow my words," Zeoticus said with a small smile.
"Isn't this good Rias?" Venelana asked and Rias nodded, to be honest, she didn't care about letting others know of it rather she just wanted to confirm this with her parents as quickly as possible.
'I am the first one now,' Rias smiled happily while looking at Adam, she was just about to go and take him away from here but…
"Come on Adam, let's talk over tea and leave these busy men on their own," Venelana had already grabbed the dazed Adam by the hand and…
"You too Rias," Venelana dragged Rias along who was feeling a sense déjà vu at this moment seeing Sirzechs waving at her.
'Well, they have a good garden,' Adam thought as he was already sitting down on a seat in front of the table alongside Rias by the time he came back to the world, and…
"So, how did you two meet? No matter how many times I ask, Rias won't tell me," Venelana asked with a jolly smile, she was curious about how Adam and Rias met for the first time.
"Mother," Rias sighed, there was a big reason she didn't say anything about it.
'Yeah, no wonder she didn't say anything,' Adam just smiled since considering their meeting wasn't really something that could be told to her parents which is why.
"Now that is a secret," Adam said trying to gloss over the subject since their first meeting wasn't really something that can be told to people who are uninvolved with them and…
"My My, you are making me more curious about it now," Venelana smiled since she could feel that this might be a great story to hear and tried to get it out of Adam but it wasn't working.
"Your tea Adam-sama," Grayfia on the other hand came around to serve tea and some snacks.
"Thanks," Adam said after getting the refill of the tea as Grayfia bowed and moved back to stand to the side.
"Also Adam these macrons are exquisite, do you mind telling me where you got them?" Venelana asked as she happily ate the macrons that Adam brought out from his storage.
It wasn't just the macrons but some other things as well, the reason he did that was…
'Well, I have blown the chance to give them the gifts, so it is good that she enjoys the food at least,' Adam thought as he answered the question.
"I was the one who made them,"
"This certainly a surprise, Rias did say that you enjoyed cooking but I didn't expect it was to this extent," Venelana smiled as she looked at Adam and continued, "You are just tempting me to have you move into this house after getting you and Rias married quickly, hmm, is this your scheme I wonder?"
"Haha, thanks for the praise, but I don't have anything of that sort in mind, I don't really want Rias's reputation to be dirtied by this so I'll wait," Adam said as things in the underworld were complicated if word gets out that The heir of Gremory had married a man of unknown origin after she broke off her marriage with the pure-blooded Phenex house, the amount of fingers pointed at her character won't be low even if she is the sister of the current Lucifer.
If anything this will give others the chance to damage her brother's standing, which would be their main intention.
'Does he really think that much about me?' Rias felt butterflies in her chest as she looked at Adam while eating her chance and…
"Fufu, it is so good to be young," Venelana smiled looking at Rias's face turning red as she was just looking at Adam, she could easily see how much Rias liked him.
'She is totally in love, so much so that it can make a bystander jealous,' Venelana shook her head but then she noticed something.
"Adam, did something happen?" Venelana asked seeing the weird look on Adam's face.
"Nothing… I was just thinking, please enjoy the chocolate cake I am quite proud of that one," Adam quickly said while fixing his face, well the reason for his reaction wasn't that surprising…
'I am not really what you can call young... ok I shouldn't think about this for now,' Adam was once again lost in his useless thoughts as the tea party continued.
"Now I am looking forward to it," Venelana smiled after looking at the cake and it only got brighter the more she ate, in the end, she ate a whole cake alone nearly forgetting her manners in the process.
But the Tea party continued and it only ended after a few more hours till Venelana asked all of her questions while finishing all of the desserts Adam brought out.
Then after a quick dinner with everyone, Adam was now inside the guest room that was given to him for the night.
'I'll check up on Ophis tomorrow, let's see if she can do what I told her to,' Adam thought as he was lying on the bed, he had given Ophis enough food for three days according to her appetite and he'll check tomorrow if she had overeaten or not.
'Well, that isn't really the main issue right now,' Adam thought while looking at the ceiling, and as he was doing that the door to his room opened without any warning.
"Hmm, Rias?" Adam saw Rias who had walked in, and with the looks of it, she had just taken a bath since she came here with her slightly damp hair with a bathrobe that covered her entire body.
"I am just dropping by to see if you are comfortable or not," Rias folded her arms and looked away.
Adam shook his head since it was clear that she had other plans, but he also had some plans….
"Rias, I need to tell you something," Adam said and Rias tilted her head wondering what it was...
"It is about the gifts," But as soon as Adam said that Rias understood what it was.
"Hmm? So, that is what was troubling you? Seriously…" Rias smiled as she walked over and climbed on the bed.
"I told you right, the gifts weren't important so you don't need to worry about them," Rias said caressing Adam's face with a soft smile.
She thought it made sense he would feel bad for not getting them in a way since it was an important event but…
"Well, I did get something…" Adam said scratching his face and Rias blinked, she didn't know what to say since all of her previous thoughts vanished quickly while…
"To be honest, I was just about to make this for you but I thought it might be a good gift for your family," Adam continued as he tried to notice Rias's reaction but…
"Rias?" She wasn't saying anything and Adam couldn't help but think…
'Maybe I should've mentioned it earlier,'
