Chapter 7.5: Not All Fun and Games
WARNING! The following chapter may be unpleasant to read! If you want to know the story but don’t want to read the unpleasant bits open the following spoiler. The 2nd part of the chapter is safe to read.
Author's Note: So this chapter hurt me physically to write but it's needed for the story so bear with it. Sorry about this... Okay so our lovable little sister is somehow being controlled by the asshole Church people. Seems a war/battle is going on.
Why? Why was she killing these people? Because she was told to? That didn't sound right for some reason. Were they her enemy? No, she didn't know them. Then why?
Holding her boot on the throat of a small cat-eared child as a tear rolled down her face the young girl ended him a moment later. Explosions and people crying for mercy could be heard all around her as fire and smoke rained down from the sky. A literal hellscape.
[B-Big Brother... H-Help me....] - ???-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Phew! I finally got my first evolution! I even got little arms now!] - Karen
The one overjoyed with herself was Karen, currently in a more humanoid looking slime, although it was still only about a foot tall so not much had improved in the last couple month's.
Initially after appearing in this world she'd immediately attempted to leave the lakeside where she had appeared and make her way through the surrounding forest but the attempt had nearly gotten her eaten so afterwards she'd resolved herself to evolve a few time's before trying again.
Pulling up her status to see what had changed she whistled with appreciation at the change in stats and more importantly the new title.
[Nice! I doubled my strength with this evolution!] - Karen
[Now let's see what my new title's description is...] - Karen
Pressing a tendril of slime on the newly acquired title a drop down menu opened with more information on the addition.
[Nice! The resistance to fire is a nice bonus, that damn hellhound from last time may think twice before using me as a snack!] - Karen
[Well then let's get back at it! This isn't nearly enough to escape from here!] - Karen-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
