Chapter 405. The Cult And The Lord of Sins I

Seven Sins System Chapter 405. The Cult And The Lord of Sins I

I flashed Puriel a mischievous grin. "We've 'never been kidnapped', remember?" I teased, throwing air quotes around the phrase.

It was a reminder that our doppelgangers totally fooled everyone while we were being held captive the whole time.

Puriel sighed, her expression serious. "But I'm not sure they'll let the academy go just because of that simple fact," she cautioned.

"Then just show them who we are," I said, my tone light and teasing as if it were the most obvious solution in the world. "Okay, correction. I just need to show who I am," I added,

I cocked my head to the side, a smirk playing on my lips. "Since you are useless. You can't even scare a cat and you just give a slut your blessing and restore her virginity. What a joke," I muttered under my breath.

Puriel shot me a sharp glance. "I heard that," she grumbled.

I turned to her with a cheeky grin. "Great. I don't feel sorry about that," I replied, my tone deliberately annoying.

I knew my words would get under her skin, but I couldn't resist the chance to ruffle her feathers.

Despite her annoyance, Puriel couldn't help but roll her eyes at my antics. "You're insufferable," she muttered.

I chuckled. "Guilty as charged," I admitted with a shrug. "But hey, we are partners in crime," I added, flashing her a playful wink.

Puriel let out a long-suffering sigh, though I could see a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Unfortunately," she replied, though there was warmth in her tone that betrayed her true feelings.

"Ugh...," the Kraken groaned, his voice strained with exhaustion.

I turned towards him. His strength seemed to wane, although his HP remained unaffected. It was likely the result of the Blood Curse I had inflicted upon him.

"Oh right, I almost forgot about you," I remarked casually.

Despite my earlier caution, I no longer saw this place or its pathetic impostor as a threat.

Puriel released a heavy sigh, her empathy waning. "You better read his mind now," she urged.

I flashed a sly grin. "You don't need to order me to do it," I scoffed.

"Envy..." I muttered under my breath, my tentacle snaking toward his ear. With a swift motion, they slipped inside.

Once the tendrils of my envy tentacle delved into the Kraken's mind, a flood of information surged into my consciousness. It was like sifting through a chaotic maze of thoughts and memories, piecing together fragments to form a coherent picture.

What I discovered was unsettling yet oddly predictable. The cult I had encountered was not just a ragtag group of misfits, but rather a well-organized underground organization with deep ties to devilish and demonic affairs. At its helm were not one, but a collective of krakens, each assuming the role of the great leader.

It dawned on me that their whole act wasn’t just for show—it was a straight-up power move. By pretending to be each other, they could mess with people’s heads, keep control, and keep their grip on everything without anyone really knowing who they were or what they were up to.

These Krakens had come up with a pretty sneaky way to stay in control. By showing up in different places at the same time, they made it look like they were everywhere—like it was some kind of demonic power or fancy self-splitting skill. It was a clever trick that let them keep their followers in check without ever putting themselves in real danger or getting called out.

Their whole thing with staying hidden behind curtains just proved how much they relied on secrecy and lies. They never showed their real faces—instead, they cast a shadow that looked a hell of a lot like me, the lord of wrath. Total power play. It was all about keeping up the illusion, making people think they were some badass leaders who deserved respect... and a healthy dose of fear.

The revelations kept coming as I delved deeper into the twisted machinations. It was like uncovering layers of deceit and manipulation.

Among the deceitful practices, one particularly scheme caught my attention. Despite their pretense of devilish power and authority, these krakens resorted to summoning actual demons to fulfill their desires. And who did they summon? None other than my friends, the lord of sins.

What struck me as most alarming was the nature of their requests. Instead of seeking power or dominion, they asked for mundane yet insidious items—special drugs designed for addicts, prescription foods and drinks engineered for dependency, and medicines with dual effects of healing and addiction.
