Chapter 46: Baihe’s Character Development

-----

[Due to the sudden Character Development of Dan Baihe, the conditions to learn one of her Skills have changed according to her new desire.]

-----

[Player Name]: [Dan Baihe]

[Title]: [Frost Princess]

[Sponsor]: [Anna, Protagonist’s Little Sister]

[Innate Skills (2)]: [Frost Queen (S)] [Great Sorceress (S)]

[Skill Copy Conditions]: [Dan Baihe has discovered that her stepfather has fallen into a Demonic Human and that his vile heart has orchestrated the death of her own mother. With only you as her only attachment to her humanity and as her mentality rapidly deteriorated, your words have inspired her to change and to defeat her evil stepfather, suddenly provoking a character development within her mindset and heart. With the only desire to kill her to fulfill Leviathan’s wishes, help her defeat Hector. If properly fulfilled, you can learn one of her two Innate Skills.]

[Conditions: You can only learn one Skill. After learning the Skill, you cannot learn any more Skills from this Character.]

-----

I guess I’ll have to help her. It’s not as if, even with her stats, she could defeat this bastard. He has already become a monster beyond the B-Rank power level. She was able to accidentally kill Rick because he was already about to die anyway, but her stepfather had just recently transformed, and he seemed to have become a pseudo-incarnation of Leviathan.

Just how many damn incarnations can Leviathan even have? He already has Darius, planned to have Dan Baihe, and now he also has Hector! He must be a very powerful Archdemon. Probably the reason why the Constellations haven’t done anything about the terrible things he provoked.

[Several Constellations are interested in this development.]

[They have sponsored 500 Plot Points.]

[The Cosmic Throne {Drama Loving King of Wine} is surprised about the sudden character growth of Dan Baihe!]

[Due to the enjoyment he’s having by observing you two, he has sponsored 1800 Plot Points.]

[The Cosmic Throne {Lady that Soothes the Souls of the Death} is worried about your safety.]

[She has sponsored a [Rainbow Elixir (B+++ Rank)] x1!]

It seems even the Constellations are getting some enjoyment out of this development. And Isis has sent quite an interesting gift into my hands. The Rainbow Elixir is an item that can increase all stats by +30% for 30 Minutes, it is ideal for this situation where I need as much power as possible.

I quickly popped the bottle open and drank all the contents in a flash while the tentacles of Hector shattered into pieces.

[You’ve drank the [Rainbow Elixir (B+++ Rank)] x1!]

[All of your Stats have increased by +30% for 30 Minutes.]

[As a result of the sudden burst of power, your Physique is reacting positively and absorbing the energy!]

[Your [Physique]: [Seven Colored Sun Physique (Tier 1: Rank 7)] has increased to Tier 1: Rank 8!]

[All of your Stats have increased a bit permanently.]

[Your KI Stat has increased permanently by +30!]

Well, I’ll have to be thankful to my sponsor; Isis is the best.

“Y-you damn brat! No matter what powers you have, you cannot do anything against the might of Leviathan! He’s the STRONGESTdemon of the underworld!” Hector roared furiously, regenerating many more tentacles as his entire body quickly surged off the snow; it was over ten meters in height.

Using his tentacles like whips, he immediately attempted to smash us into the ground using his muscular limbs, shattering the ground around him and making the entire battlefield tremble.

“Careful!” I said, quickly dragging Dan Baihe out of danger, as she was too focused on using her magic and jumping over Violet’s back, who had enlarged his body to the same size as Fenrir after having healed some more.

“KRIIEEEE!”

Violet rushed out of the range of attacks, only for Hector to begin following us from behind.

“Dammit, his attacks cover too wide a range. Dan Baihe, I like your attitude, but if you just stand still you’re going to get squished.” I said, glancing at her.

“Y-You’re right.” She sighed. “I let anger get the better of me; I’m sorry!”

“Don’t worry, as long as we can attack him from afar... It’s all fine.” I smiled, using Violet as our ride. I quickly decided to open all three of the equipment treasure chests I acquired to get any new equipment.

[You’ve opened the [Glacial Themed Equipment Piece Treasure Chest (C Rank)] x3!]

[Due to the effects of the [Jester’s Reverse Fortune (S Rank Privilege)], your LUK stat has been reversed for this event only!]

[Because of the high LUK stat, the quality limits of the Treasure Chest have been disabled.]

[Oh? What luck! You acquired the [Glacial Princess Staff (B Rank)] x1!]

[Incredible! You acquired the [Ring of the Frost Queen (B Rank)] x1!]

[Bravo! You acquired the [Glacial Wolf Fang Dagger (B Rank)] x1!]

I ended up getting some amazing items. But they weren’t all for me. I only kept the Dagger to dual-wield with my other dagger and quickly gave Dan Baihe the other two items.

-----

[Glacial Wolf Fang]

{Item Type}: [One Handed Weapon] [Dagger] [Magic Weapon]

{Item Quality}: [B Rank]

{Item Requirement}: [None]

{Item Durability}: [750/750]

{Item Effects}

[ATK]: [+480] [HP]: [+20] [MP]: [+30] [STR]: [+50] [VIT]: [+15] [DEX]: [+950] [AGI]: [+90] [INT]: [+25] [WIS]: [+15] [LUC]: [+10] [CHM]: [+10]

{Item Abilities}

[Frost Aura]: As a Dagger made using the sharp canine fang of a Glacial Wolf, it possesses the freezing power of the wolf’s magic within. Grants powerful Frost Attribute Damage with each slash of this weapon. The frost can grow in intensity the more they freeze their target, dealing damage over time and draining the target’s Health and Mana. Durability decreases whenever the Frost Aura is conjured.

-----

“Take these! Put that ring on quickly!” I said.

“E-Eh?! Okay!” Dan Baihe blushed a bit after I gave her my riches. “These items… they resonate so well with my magic…!”

[The [Glacial Princess Staff (B Rank)] resonates with the Frost Element of Character: Dan Baihe.]

[Her INT and WIS Stats have increased by +25% and her Frost Element Damage has increased by +50% for 20 Minutes.]

[The [Ring of the Frost Queen (B Rank)] resonates with the Frost Element of Character: Dan Baihe.]

[Frost Element Magic MP Cost has been reduced by -30% and her Frost Element Magic can now bypass 25% of the foe’s Magic Resistance for 20 Minutes.]

Awesome, she already learned how to activate items' Abilities.

"Incredible, I feel so strong now." She was amazed.

“Focus!” I said, grabbing the Glacial Wolf Fang Dagger and the Blazing Dragon Tooth Daggers at the same time. The glacial power of one and the blazing fire of the other seemed to be fighting angrily against each other.

[The power of the [Blazing Dragon Flames] and [Frost Aura] are fighting each other furiously.]

[Both the Blazing Dragon Tooth and the Glacial Wolf Fang seem to want to show their master who’s worth more to use!]

[Due to their intense fight, the intensity of the weapon’s elemental power has temporarily increased by +100%!]

[An Aura of Frost and Flames encompasses your body, enhancing your Stats by a further +25%. However, you take damage each second.]

“Ungh…! You damn daggers! Do you have to hate each other so badly?!” I sighed. “Well, even if I take damage over time, this is fine!” I smiled.

After all, I’ve got my own physique that enhances my health regeneration. I can resist this much. With a lot of Ki flowing around my body, my vitality increases a ton.

“DAN BAIHE! COME HERE, YOU COWARDLY BITCH!”

The monstrous Hector roared, suddenly opening his aberrant jaws and pointing his tongue at us, which quickly opened a hole and began puking a green-colored liquid that produced a disgusting smell.

[The [Aberrant Octopus Demonic Human (A Rank)] has activated the [Acid Production (A)] Skill!]

[Melting Acid is being splashed everywhere!]

The entire ground and the snow melted instantly. As if it wasn’t clear enough, it was one hell of an acid. Thankfully, Violet was one hell of a runner too; his AGI stat was the highest amongst all of us, so he easily moved around, even jumping in midair to evade the splashes of acid as we prepared our attacks.

“With this staff…” Dan Baihe said. “{Frost Dragon’s Breath}!”

Dan Baihe acted quicker than I expected; just seconds after getting her staff, she conjured a powerful spell, combining her magic with the skill she acquired by absorbing the Magic Crystal of the Frost Wyvern.

A magic circle appeared above her, suddenly summoning the enormous head of a Frost Dragon, much bigger and stronger looking than that of a Wyvern, which opened its menacing jaws and unleashed a blizzard from its jaws.

It was so powerful that it felt like a pure force of nature. The surrounding trees were blown away in an instant, and the monstrous aberration chasing us was beginning to be frozen as he stopped moving and used his tentacles to shield himself from his freezing.

“AUGH…!”

As Dan Baihe kept freezing him, I decided to jump right into the battle. I channeled the power of my Physique and started spending Ki to reinforce my physical abilities, leaping almost sixty meters towards the Demonic Human, and then swinging both of my elemental daggers by imbuing them with Ki and activating the [Twin Cutter] Skill! A dozen slashes of frost and fire rained upon Hector at incredible speed, resembling a rain of cutting attacks. His tentacles started being sliced into hundreds of pieces as I finally saw his pathetic face.

“YOU…!”

A giant eye on his forehead suddenly opened as he attempted to unleash a giant red ray of demonic energy from that single eye to blast me into smithereens. However, I channeled the power of the daggers with the [Sunshine] Skill and beat him to it, unleashing a gigantic beam of flames, light, and frost! His entire body rolled over the snow as I landed in the snow where he was standing. His giant eye was splattered into pieces, but he was still alive. His stamina was insanely high.

“GGRRHHH… DIE!”

He roared furiously, quickly standing back up as he summoned hundreds of black and red-colored demonic magic circles, summoning hundreds of black fireballs.

[The [Aberrant Octopus Demonic Human (A Rank)] has activated the [Demonic Black Flames (A)] Skill!]

[Demonic Black Flames that can even melt magic have started falling down!]

I quickly tried to evade some while intercepting a few using my daggers. The barriers of light I created were simply melted by these flames. It was really bad. However, Violet and Dan Baihe arrived just in time, as Dan Baihe conjured a powerful Spell to protect me as I was in a pinch.

“{Frost Barriers}!”

She conjured over a hundred barriers made of frost in a mere second. Each one managed to shield us from the flames constantly, giving us the time to run around the battlefield and reach Hector’s back while he was focused.

“Ungh?! Why is that damn bug so fast-”

Before he could finish his words, I unleashed a series of slashing attacks just like before, slicing his tentacles once more and then piercing his gigantic, bloated head with both daggers as I imbued them with ridiculous quantities of sunlight and Ki!

“STOP!”

His enormous, octopus-like head exploded like balloon, splattering blood and innards everywhere. I jumped away just before a splash of acid was about to reach me.

“Unnngghh…! Hahhh… This pain… I’ll make sure you take it by a hundredfold!” The aberration cried, suddenly shapeshifting his entire body once more, unifying his tentacles into two gigantic and muscular arms, and then hitting us all with countless punches!

The intensity of the attacks generated countless shockwaves, as we were forced to retreat while resisting the enormous damage.

“Hahhh… This bastard still had some more." I sighed.

“Ungh…” Dan Baihe’s nose suddenly began bleeding a bit, as it seemed like she was having a headache.

“Baihe!” I cried, quickly taking out a Mana Potion for her. “Drink this!”

“Anna, thanks-”

CRAAASH!

However, a gigantic claw fell from the skies before I could even give the potion to Dan Baihe.
