Chapter 39: Beloved By The Constellations

In the end, I called the puppy Snow for a simple yet easy-to-remember name. He was as white as snow too, so it was convenient and made sense. I checked his Status and found out his Stats were quite decent for an E Rank Monster.

-----

However, he didn’t have anything extraordinary, to say the least. Though, now that he’s my Tamed Monster, thanks to my Privileges, he’ll develop rapidly and grow stronger as Violet does. Ah, and about Violet, he doesn’t seem to mind having another tamed monster at his side.

Aside from that, we quickly made our way towards the direction where the people were located. I checked on my newly acquired items. I was going to open the treasure chests soon, but there was something else that made me wonder how I could use them.

-----

[Giant Glacial Wolf Mother’s Soul Orb (B Rank)]

An Orb containing a Fragment of the Soul of a Giant Glacial Wolf Mother that protected her pup with all her strength. It contains enormous quantities of Ice and Yin Attribute Energies. Upon consumption, it will grant the user these energies, and if the user is not compatible with them, it might cause death by freezing.

However, if the one that consumes this item is highly compatible, there’s a chance for them to awaken new Abilities, Increase their Stats, or inherit some of the Wolf’s Skills.

-----

It is kind of like the pill I ate back in the first dungeon, where I awakened my new Physique. But this is not compatible with me at all; if I consume this, I may get sick. After all, my body has a lot of Yang Essence as its primary energy source. If I consume this, I’ll get sick or even die!

So… Who can eat this? Maybe it is meant for Snow to grow stronger like his mother. I could also give it to Baihe instead; she should be very compatible with it. If she eats it, she could awaken some sick power.

Ugh, this is more difficult than I thought! Who do I choose? Baihe or Snow?!

Well, to be honest, Baihe’s going to have much more potential than the puppy. But Snow is a new tamed monster, which will help me survive from now on after he grows strong enough at all times, unlike a person who can't always be by my side.

Ah, I guess if I gave this to Baihe, I would be insulting the mother’s wishes. She wanted her child to inherit her powers.

“Snow, open your mouth,” I said. “Here’s a treat, dear.”

“Woof!” Little Snow wagged his tail and then ate the little orb, biting it and swallowing it without feeling it was disgusting. He almost did it by instinct.

“Awooo!”

Snow suddenly overflowed with a massive amount of power, a freezing aura surged around his body, and his eyes started glowing bright blue! Wow, he was truly undergoing some sort of transformation.

His snow-white fur gained blue stripes, and he suddenly grew a sharp horn. He remained small, but he looked stronger. Even his tiny claws became sharper and blue-colored.

[Tamed Monster: Snow] has consumed the [Giant Glacial Wolf Mother’s Soul Orb (B Rank)] and successfully absorbed its powers!]

[Tamed Monster: Snow] has gained large quantities of Ice and Yin Energies, and his body has developed a unique, powerful physique.]

[Tamed Monster: Snow] learned new Skills, and all of his Stats have increased!]

[Tamed Monster: Snow] has acquired the Ki Stat.]

[Monster Name]: [Snow]

[Monster Race]: [Giant Horned Glacial Wolf Puppy]

[Title]: [Friend]

[Freezing Bite (E): Lv6] [Icicle Spear (E): Lv3] [Intimidating Howl (E): Lv2] [Fluffy Fur (E): Lv2] [Blizzard (B): Lv1]

-----

No way, he just acquired Ki and a Physique?! Not even Violet has gotten this far yet! And he evolved his race, gaining the “Horned” on his race name. He even acquired a new B Rank Skill named “Blizzard”, I guess this must be the powerful ice attribute spell his mother used.

“What happened to the puppy?! It got all bigger!” Baihe was fascinated.

“Woof! Woof!” Snow started licking both of us happily.

“Yeah, I gave him a special treat.” I smiled. “You’ll get one as well.”

“Eh? M-Me?” She wondered, confused.

Yeah, I was thinking of refining a Pill similar to the one I ate using the materials I’ve gathered from this Dungeon. I had already picked up Snow Maiden Flowers and Blizzard Mushrooms, which are items filled with Yin and Ice Attribute Energy.

If I can combine them using alchemy into a potion or a pill, it could help Baihe awaken her own unique physique so she doesn’t stay behind Little Snow. Oh right, using my special eyes, I was able to also see her Status, although unlike me or my tamed monsters, she can’t level up because people without systems grow stronger by absorbing Mana Crystals from monsters or their materials through pills and potions.

Even after I became her Sponsor and she became something like my “Incarnation” I still cannot give her Level Up Powers, somehow… I am guessing there’s something different between an Incarnation and a Tamed Monster. However, that might change eventually if I get new Privileges.

Her stats are quite… Wow, what the hell?! She already has an insane INT and WIS! And her MP is already higher than mine, I think. Damn, she’s certainly S Rank Hunter material. She has two other Skills aside from her two newly awakened ones; seemingly, they’re abilities she developed by herself.

She still seems to have little idea how to use her powers, but I might have to force her to use them eventually if she wants to help out in what’s to come. I might as well explain to her the Demonic Cultists plan while I am at it.

“Eh?! T-The Demonic Humans wanted me..." She was shocked.

"Thankfully, I was here before you were to sell your soul to a demon.” I sighed. “Now that I've become something like your sponsor, no demon can take your soul away.”

“I-I see… To think I had such powers that would make even demons fight for them." Baihe sighed. “Is this entire tragedy my own fault?”

“Don’t blame it on yourself; it is not your fault.” I sighed, giving her a head pat and then taking out of my inventory a warm meat bun and a bottle of cold tea. “Here, have this to fill yourself up some more, I might need your strength soon, Baihe.”

“My strength…?” Baihe was still doubting herself. “C-Can I even be of use?”

“You have to!” I said. “I’ve spent a lot of Plot Points on you!” I sighed.

“Huh?” Baihe was confused.

“I-I mean… Just trust your own strength. Currently, your MP, INT, and WIS are super high. And you’ve awakened to S Rank Skills, which already makes you as strong as some B Rank Hunters if not much more if you can enhance the mastery of your abilities.” I explained.

“S-So much?!” She gasped.

“Yep!” I smiled. “I heard you wanted to have the strength to live your own life without being at the mercy of others, to be free, so I’ve given it to you.”

“Anna…” Baihe suddenly blushed a bit; her big blue eyes shone brightly. “I… I will fight too, then. E-Even if I am a bit clumsy, I get it…!”

She was quick-witted, thankfully. Perhaps nobody had ever treated her this way. She felt slightly exasperated and was nervous as hell, but her Lone Heart seemed to be slowly blossoming into something different.

I’ll make sure that this time you won’t become a villain but an ally that can help me save this world from what will happen in the Third Awakening.

[Several Constellations had been watching attentively.]

[Some of them had been moved to tears due to the friendship between the two girls.]

[They have sponsored 1000 Plot Points.]

[The Cosmic Throne {Drama Loving King of Wine} is requesting that the genre of this story change to Girls Love.]

[He has sponsored 1000 Plot Points]

Huh?! Is that another Greek God? And the request is absurd. I will ignore him for now but having someone like Ares and now Dionysus watching me is a bit… unnerving.

[The Cosmic Throne {Warrior That Seeks Calamity} tells {Drama Loving King of Wine} to stop talking nonsense and go somewhere else.]

[The Cosmic Throne {Drama Loving King of Wine} teases the {Warrior That Seeks Calamity}, saying he doesn’t own you.]

[The Cosmic Throne {Warrior That Seeks Calamity} angrily points his sword at {Drama Loving King of Wine}!]

[The Cosmic Throne {Drama Loving King of Wine} laughs merrily and drinks wine in response, completely unfazed by the threatening aura of {Warrior That Seeks Calamity}]

Are they okay? They seem to hate each other.

[The Cosmic Throne {Maiden that Watches Over Nature} tells both of them to calm down.]

[She smiles back at you, happy with your good deeds and offering you a bit of her gifts.]

[She has sponsored 500 Plot Points, [Health Potion (C Rank)] x5, and [Mana Potion (C Rank)] x5!]

Wow, thanks a lot! I knew she was the kindness constellation, but I never expected Gaia, one of the Primordial Titans of Greek mythology, to also be watching over me with so much motherly love.

[The Cosmic Thrones {Butterfly That Flies Across The Universe} and {Monkey That Dances in Chaos} are watching you in silence…]

What are these two up to? The butterfly is the one I am most afraid of, to be honest, and the stupid monkey is not someone THAT trustworthy either. They enjoy chaos, and seeing how everything is going so nicely might be boring to them.

Ah, I miss the Jester now… He was always there to explain stuff, but now that he’s not here, I can’t really ask the other constellations about the whole leveling system stuff and if I can inherit it from others who aren’t tamed monsters.

Oh well, whatever’s the case-

[The Cosmic Throne {Ancient King that Sits On A Throne of Gold} has sponsored $10000000]

[The Money has been automatically deposited in your Hunter Bank Account.]

[He says he has been having fun watching you.]

Woah… Okay? He’s really throwing money at me as if I was a streamer.

[The Cosmic Throne {Lady that Soothes the Souls of the Death} laments she can’t directly sponsor you with money and feels like {Maiden That Watchers Over Nature} is trying to take her place as your motherly constellation sponsor!]

[She desperately gifts you 2000 Plot Points and [Skill Points Elixir (A Rank)] x1!]

Isis is panicking, and Gaia is too kind~ But I’ll take the Plot Points, with this, I can buy some Privileges, finally! I’ll consume this Skill Point Elixir because I’ll need those Points for later. Fusing Skills or Learning new ones costs these points after all.

[You’ve consumed the [Skill Points Elixir (A Rank)] x1, and you’ve gained 50 Skill Points.]

[You’ve exchanged 6500 Plot Points.]

[You have acquired the [Little Sister’s Cheerful Rally (E Rank Privilege)], [Super Beam of Love (D Rank Privilege)], and [Angelic Eyes (D Rank Privilege)] Privileges!]

-----

[Little Sister’s Cheerful Rally (E Rank Privilege)]

A Special Privilege is only given to cheerful little sisters!

By cheering on someone dear to you with all your heart, you are capable of giving them a variety of great buffs and enhancements, or even special abilities, temporarily.

The effects of these Rallies depend on your bonds with these people and the emotions you put into your cheers. You can also add Mana to make them stronger.

These bonuses are doubled when you’re cheering your Big Brother.

-----

[Super Beam of Love (D Rank Privilege)]

A Special Privilege that only the cutest and loveliest of little sisters can acquire.

By concentrating all of your emotions on the tip of your index fingers and spending both large quantities of Mana and Ki, you can shoot pink-colored rays of love to both enemies and allies.

Based on your CHM stat, they will either deal damage to foes or improve an ally’s health. The more charming you are, the stronger your Super Beam of Love will become.

Additionally, there’s a small chance to turn a foe into stone when shooting them with this power, unaffected by your LUK Stat.

-----

[Angelic Eyes (D Rank Privilege)]

A Special Privilege only adorable little sisters can acquire.

Your Eyes are filled with Angelic Beauty and shine brightly like those of Angels themselves!

Using them, you can easily read the Hearts of people, decipher if they’re lying or not, and even find out what they’re planning if they’re either malicious or with good intentions.

By concentrating Mana into your Angelic Eyes, you can also shoot a dazzle of light, which can temporarily blind foes and decrease all of their stats by up to -20%.

-----

Oh, these Privileges are sure interesting… Though a bit cringy, I’ll have to bear with it.

[You have reached a total amount of 10 Privileges!]

[The Power of these Privileges is further improving your Innate [######]!]

[Your [######] is growing stronger…]

Huh? What is this about? I can’t read it. This is the first time something like this has shown up. What does it even mean?

Could it be Divinity or perhaps a Developing Tale? No way, this soon? This confirms that Privileges might be “Fragments of Divinity” or even "Fragments Of Stories" and the reason they’re so strong and affect the world around me is due to their origin.

But why are the Constellations giving me the power to gain Fragments of Divinity this soon? In the Third Awakening, this will become a norm and staple for the survivors, but... Maybe there’s some sort of conspiracy between the Jester and the “Higher Ups” I have yet to find out.

Well, for now, I have to concentrate on the present while waiting for the Jester’s suspension to end.

“Alright then.” I nodded, giving her one last head pat as she was eating her meat bun. “I’ll be counting on you, Baihe. For now, practice your magic; I know you can do it.”

[The Effects of the [Little Sister’s Cheerful Rally (E Rank Privilege)] have been activated!]

[Character: Dan Baihe] Concentration, Mana Control, Magic Power, and Mana Regeneration have increased by +15% for the next 30 Minutes.]

“O-Okay!” She said, munching the last bit of the meat bun, drinking most of the tea, and then beginning to concentrate, closing her eyes. “Y-You do it like this…?”

FLASH!

A massive quantity of Mana suddenly emerged out of her hands, generating a spear made of ice that was launched like a missile. So fast and powerfully that it even broke the sound barrier!
