Chapter 33: Super Growth Package Gift

-----

Right in front of me, there was a Giant Glacial Wolf, a C Rank Monster. Remembering that damn Abyssal Dweller Queen I fought back then, this thing is supposedly even stronger than her. Although it is smaller, it is much more agile, stronger, and intelligent than that giant bug. This one seems like a Pack Leader, while the rest of the Glacial Wolves are usually D-Rank or even D+ Rank.

Maybe if it had been me in the past, I would have pissed myself off with the fear that this beast induced in me. But now, I felt like it was just another prey, another hunt I must take down. Perhaps my first Dungeon Break and then those Trials I underwent in the Egyptian Death Gods Dungeons further strengthened my resolve.

“GRRHH…”

The Giant Glacial Wolf was preparing itself to leap over me. This monster’s main method of attack was slashing, biting, or piercing someone with the big ice horn they had on their foreheads. And it seemed that it was going for the latter.

“RAAARGH!”

FLASH!

The Giant Glacial Wolf leaped towards me at an incredible speed, which I was barely able to equal thanks to my equipment, privileges, and the Ki flowing across my veins.

[The [Sylph’s Tear] Effect has been activated: [Wind Spirit’s Blessing]!]

[Your DEX and AGI have increased by +100% for 5 minutes.]

[The Effects of the [Little Rabbit’s Fearlessness (F Rank Privilege)] have increased your AGI by +50%!]

CLASH!

It went for a stomp using its front legs, hitting the ground with an immense attack and shattering the ground. The bastard went for something I didn’t even expect.

With this effect I just activated, I do have a 150% buff to my AGI and a +100% to DEX, and on top of that, the Ki Aura of my own physique further improves my stats by a bit by spending Ki.

And well, I do have a companion with me.

“GRAARGH?!”

“KRIEEE!”

Violet roared furiously, attacking the Giant Glacial Wolf with his enormous scythes. Unlike his mother, he was super-fast even at his gigantic size, and his blows devastated the surroundings, so strong and big that it made the Giant Glacial Wolf, a monster with way higher stats than him, be temporarily intimidated, stepping back and giving me an opportunity.

[The [Blazing Dragon Tooth] is roaring with blazing fury!]

[The effects of [Dragon Flames] have been activated.]

By combining the power of the Sylph Tear with Blazing Dragon Tooth and THEN Sunshine, I can create some very amusing powers and effects.

“{Twin Cutter}!”

SLAAASH! SLAAASH!

Two slashes made out of golden flames emerged out of my knife as they landed on the Giant Glacial Wolf while it gave me its back, damaging it severely. The wolf roared in panic, suddenly conjuring two enormous icicles and firing them at me at the same time!

I quickly evaded one while I sliced another into two, only for the wolf to appear right behind the sliced icicles, opening its jaws to maul my head apart. However, a gigantic scythe smacked the wolf into the ground, and Violet came to the rescue! Rapidly, he wrapped the wolf’s legs with his silk, and I leaped into the beast’s head.

“I don’t have all the time in the world to deal with you, so please die quickly!” I roared, piercing the wolf’s skull with my knife and then infusing all the dragon flames and sunshine I could inside the wound.

BOOOOMM…!!

The wolf’s head—well, it exploded into pieces. It was a bit gross, and I was covered in all of its brains, but there was no helping it.

[You have defeated [Giant Glacial Wolf (C Rank)] x1!]

[You earned 7000 EXP!]

[Level Up!]

[Your Level has increased from Level 16 to Level 17!]

[All Your Stats have increased.]

[You earned Skill Points and Stat Points.]

[Several Constellations Praise Your Accomplishment!]

[They Have Sponsored 500 Plot Points.]

[The Cosmic Throne {Lady that Soothes the Souls of the Death} is proud of your growth.]

[She Has Sponsored [Weapon Enhancement Stone (D Rank)] x2 and [First Aid Special Package (D Rank)] x1!]

Nice! Isis has gifted me just what I need to heal Baihe’s frostbite! Now let’s store this.

[You have gathered the [Giant Glacial Wolf Corpse (C Rank)] x1]

[Lucky! The [Giant Glacial Wolf Corpse (C Rank)] x1 quality has increased to Rank B!]

This is surely useful, raising the quality of a monster corpse by gathering and then virtually making the Undead I can get out of it stronger.

“Phew! See Fenrir? Did you have to get all worried over me? I am completely fine.” I said while puffing my chest.

I ran towards Baihe and quickly unpacked the First Aid Special Package, using the medicine inside to cover Baihe’s frostbite wounds and then wrap them around the bandage.

“Ahhh… A-Am I going to die?” She cried.

“You won’t,” I said. “I promise you won’t.”

I touched her wounds after wrapping them up and putting the medicine inside, imbuing her with the warmth of my Physique and my Ki. A Golden Aura began spreading around her body. I used my excess Yang energy through Sunshine and slowly began overpowering the Yin Energy glowing around her own body.

“So warm…” Baihe was still barely handling a thin thread. I made her drink three Health Potions and even then, she was barely alive.

“Fenrir, let’s go now!” I said.

“Alright, your brother’s fighting a big guy right now, so we should regroup with the survivors first!” Said Fenrir.

“Big guy?” I wondered.

[The Demonic Throne {The Savage Beast That Envies The Heavens} is pissed that you stole his next slave from his claws.]

Ah, this bastard…

I guess the Demonic Humans that serve Leviathan must have come here, and they’re trying to hunt down innocent people for their souls and flesh. This… I didn’t expect the story to go this way. Well, it was never elaborated on how Baihe's Dungeon Break incident went. But perhaps it was in the Dungeon itself that she ended up having a contract with Leviathan.

Leviathan is the Archdemon of Envy, a powerful Demon that only targets the most envious, empty-hearted people who are never satisfied with what they have and always want more, at the expense of others.

Baihe… isn’t like this, is she? But perhaps she did envy the families coming to her restaurant and literally everybody else having a better life than her. So much envy harbored inside her heart must have made her a perfect candidate, especially with her innate potential and talents.

“Come here.” I quickly hugged Baihe while we traveled, holding her hands and giving her warmth. “Everything will be alright now, Baihe.”

[The Effects of the [Heartwarming Bear Hug (F Rank Privilege)] are taking effect!]

[The healing speed of Dan Baihe’s Frostbite has been increased by +500% as long as you keep hugging her tightly.]

“Ahh…” Baihe suddenly blushed a bit. “H-How do you… know my name? And who are you again?”

“Oh…” I sighed. Did she forget everything? Well, it happens when you go through a traumatic incident, to be honest. “Name’s Anna. I am a young Hunter and, erm, let’s say, I am a Talent Seeker. The Constellations told me your name and told me I had to bring you to a safer place, away from your stepfather, and to help you grow stronger. They said you have a lot of innate talent.”

“A-Anna…” Baihe said. “Talent? Me? I don’t have any talent…”

“Of course you have! You’ve just got to train.” I sighed. “Let’s see…”

[Character [Dan Baihe] is eligible for a [Super Growth Package Gift (D Rank Privilege)]!]

[Unlockable Abilities]: [Frost Queen (S)] [Great Sorceress (S)] [???] [???] […]

[Overall Description]: [Dan Baihe seems to show an amazing talent with Ice Magic, and she could become an incredibly powerful S-Rank Hunter in the future with the right growth package. Her talent with magic can go even beyond, by learning the Great Sorceress Skill and several other Support Skills she has yet to unlock.

However, aside from basic magic teaching, it is necessary to give her the support and love she has been missing through her childhood to make her believe in herself.]

[Package Cost]: [4000 Plot Points]

Ugh, 4000?! That’s too much!

But fine, FINE!

“You are talented, Baihe. And I’ll show you.”

“Huh?”

I touched her forehead as a divine light began flowing into her body, making her glow brightly.

[You've exchanged 4000 Plot Points, and you’ve purchased the [Super Growth Package Gift (D Rank Privilege)]!]

[You’ve used the [Super Growth Package Gift (D Rank Privilege)] on [Character]: [Dan Baihe]!]

[Her Innate Skills And Talents Have Awakened!]

[All Of Her Stats Have Increased!]

[You Have Become [Character]: [Dan Baihe] Sponsor!]

[You Can Now Grant More Privileges To Your Sponsored Incarnation.]

Huh? Sponsored Incarnation? Wait, what?

“T-This power… What is this?!” Baihe was surprised.

“That is Mana; can you feel it? It’s all around us and even within you.” I said. “What do you think?”

“A-Amazing… Y-You did this, Anna?” Baihe was fascinated.

“Of course, I am a Talent Seeker for a reason.” I giggled proudly.

“With this, maybe I can change my fate. Maybe I could have a better life. Thank you, Anna! Sniff…” Baihe began crying while hugging me. “Buaahh!”

“C-Calm down now... There, there…” I sighed.

I honestly didn’t think she would begin crying. Poor girl, she must have had it rough.

[The Demonic Throne {The Savage Beast That Envies The Heavens} is glaring at you furiously for what you’ve done!]

[He smiles evilly as he sends his slaves to kill you.]

Huh?

Suddenly, several shadows coming from all areas of the forest began chasing us down. They were Demonic Humans.

“Shit! They’re here!” Fenrir panicked.

I guess Leviathan won’t take kindly to what I’ve done.
