Chapter 242: White And Black Heaven Pearls

-----

These pearls were given by the Quest that asked me to defeat the Heavenly Demon. So they’re bound to be strong and useful, right? Okay, let’s check them.

-----

[Black Heaven Ki Pearl (SSS Rank)]

A Divine Ki Pearl imbued with the Heavenly Ki of a Black Heaven Fragment.

When consumed, it grants the one that consumes it a large quantity of Black Heaven Ki, which, if they’re compatible with it, might enhance all their capabilities.

Maximum Ki will increase, alongside boosting the growth of Physique and Inner Martial Core Cultivation.

Alongside that, Enlightenment to your {Dao Foundation} can be given at random.

-----

“Ooh, it has a chance to strengthen my Dao Foundation?!”

[“Is that a good thing or something?”]

Gram suddenly spoke; it looks like the lazy sword finally woke up.

“Hey, you’re finally awake!”

[“Hmph, after you threw me away when you were fighting that crow, I haven’t felt like talking anymore with you!”]

“Argh, are you going to get like this now? Sorry, okay? But that fight… I needed to use something more than just your blade. And I obtained it. Myriad Self Arts, my own Martial Arts! Though, weirdly enough, they still don’t appear registered in my Status…”

[“Hmph! Maybe because they’re shitty and full of flaws! You only were able to make that crow croak because he’s fucking sick. Otherwise he would have beaten the living shit out of you.”]

“Rude… I think I’m going to just ignore you.”

I looked at the information of the White Heaven Pearl, and it was pretty much the same thing, so I decided to consume all the stuff one after another while sitting cross-legged and trying to meditate.

[You have consumed [Ki Enhancing Pill (S Rank)] x10!]

[A Large Quantity of Ki has been refined into your Physique and Inner Martial Core.]

[You gained +2.500 Ki Stat!]

[You have consumed [Skill Level Elixir (S Rank)] x10!]

[You gained a Bonus of 100.000 Random Skill Experience!]

[The Random Skill Experience has been distributed across your Skills randomly!]

[Several Skills have Leveled Up!]

[You have used the [Random Martial Arts Scroll (A Rank)] x5!]

[You have learned the following Martial Art Techniques: [Golden Snake Flowing Fist: Tier 1] [Cloud Step: Tier 1] [Explosive Flame Fist Technique: Tier 1] [Poisonous Dragon’s Palm: Tier 1] [Praying Mantis Deadly Scythes: Tier 1]!]

[The [Cloud Step: Tier 1] Martial Arts has been assimilated into the already existing technique!]

[The [Cloud Step: Tier 3] Martial Arts Tier has increased to Tier 4!]

A flow of large quantities of information reached my mind, imprinting into my body and mind with the Martial Arts of each Random Scroll I obtained.

And among this knowledge, the ability to step in the middle of the air was enhanced, I could somehow figure out how to better use it.

So this is Cloud Step of Tier 4! Not bad.

However, that wasn’t all.

The more I learned these Martial Arts, the more similar I found them to my already existing Core Martial Arts, they were much simpler than those but offered some interesting perspectives.

By using their techniques, I learned I could fill the “gaps” that my stronger Martial Arts possessed, and then I learned how to combine the techniques together, creating something more complete of already existing martial arts.

“Wow, is this how they do it?”

[The [Celestial Golden Dragon Divine Fist: Tier 3 (Core Martial Arts)] and the [Seven Demonic Cursed Seals Arts (5/7): Tier 1] Martial Arts are reacting to your knowledge and understanding of the various Martial Arts Techniques you’ve learned.]

[The [Celestial Golden Dragon Divine Fist: Tier 3 (Core Martial Arts)] Martial Arts has assimilated the following Martial Arts techniques: [Sea Serpent’s Bite: Tier 3] [Wild Boar’s Tusks: Tier 1] [Golden Snake Flowing Fist: Tier 1]!]

[Enough Mastery has been achieved; the [Celestial Golden Dragon Divine Fist: Tier 3 (Core Martial Arts)] Tier has increased to Tier 4!]

[The [Seven Demonic Cursed Seals Arts (5/7): Tier 1] Martial Arts has assimilated the following Martial Arts techniques: [Venomous Viper Fang: Tier 3] [Abyssal Spider’s Threads: Tier 1] [Explosive Flame Fist Technique: Tier 1] [Poisonous Dragon’s Palm: Tier 1] [Praying Mantis Deadly Scythes: Tier 1]!]

[Enough Mastery has been achieved; the [Fourth Seal: Desire (Tier 1)] and the [Fifth Seal: Frustration (Tier 1)] Tiers have increased to Tier 2!]

[Once you manage to get all available Seals to Tier 2, the Martial Arts will also increase to Tier 2.]

“Interesting, now the only Martial Arts I have been the golden dragon and seven seals… And well, Cloud Step too, I guess. I went from having eleven Martial Arts to three; that’s a bit excessive.”

[“I bet it’s because those three Martial Arts are already very powerful, and perhaps where the others seemed to have come too! …Or something like that, I don’t know.”]

“Yeah, I suppose… Now, to the meat and potatoes of this whole thing, the pearls!” I grabbed the black and white pearls, absorbing them one after another.

Enormous quantities of Heavenly Ki flowed through my body, rivers of black and white energy, merging into my physique, martial core, and then the depths of my soul.

For a moment, I felt slightly… enlightened?

It felt strange, like I was somehow understanding things better.

Why the skies were divided, why there was a black heaven and a white heaven.

To put it simply, the white heaven represented the day, and the black heaven the night.

The nine heavens were all based on the nine colors that the heavens supposedly take: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white, black, azure, and purple.

They were the connection between heaven and earth when Bestia was connected.

However, after a great war between the Venerables of the past, the nine heavens were destroyed one after another.

And the only two that were left were the black and white heaven, two colors in the sky, day and night.

“Interesting…”

[You have consumed the [Black Heaven Ki Pearl (SSS Rank)] x1 and the [White Heaven Ki Pearl (SSS Rank)] x1!]

[You gained a large quantity of both Black and White Heavenly Ki.]

[Your Maximum Ki Stat has increased by 10.000.]

[Your [Physique]: [Nine Colored Nova Physique (Tier 3: Rank 4)] has Ranked Up to Tier 3: Rank 7!]

[Your Maximum Ki Stat has increased by 1.500.]

[Your Physical Stats have increased by 600.]

[Your [Martial Core]: [Umbral Black Star Core (Tier 1: Rank 9)] has Ranked Up to Tier 2: Rank 2!]

[Your Maximum Ki Stat has increased by 600.]

[Your Maximum Cosmic Energy Stat has increased by 300.]

[Your Comprehension over your own {Dao Foundation} has improved slightly.]

[Your Traits have been reinforced and enhanced.]

“Oh wow, so many Stats, again…”

I looked at my Status to check the growth I’ve experienced.

Alright, over 10k on Vitality and Agility already; that’s amazing. And that is without even including the growth of my Strength, almost at 10,000 too! My Cosmic Energy reserves are at an all-time high of 8k, and my KI has increased to an insane and whopping 31k! With this, I feel more confident about my training and also my rate of survivability in Murim Worlds where I can’t use Mana.

“You’ve grown much stronger, it seems.” Sepa’s voice echoed. “I feel even more Cosmic Energy being generated out of nowhere. I can’t believe you’ve found a way to increase it so easily!”

“By connecting my Cosmic Heart Core with my Inner Martial Core, whenever the Inner Martial Core boosts its cultivation, it will also enhance my cosmic energy growth, hehe.” I smiled. “An infallible hax!”

Now, onto the last thing I wanted to check.

It was the treasure chest, obviously.

Honestly, I have no idea what a Heavenly Demon Themed Treasure Chest could ever give, but I am going to open it and see for myself anyway.

Creaak…!

The black and dark purple treasure slowly opened, revealing its shiny contents, a lot of sparkling energy that fused into my body, and then a single item left behind.

[You have opened the [Heavenly Demon of Bestia’s Themed Treasure Chest (SSS Rank)]!]

[You received the following Rewards: [50.000 Plot Points] [Heavenly Demon’s Black Heaven Earrings (SSS Rank)] x1!]

“I got Plot Points out of it! I didn’t know that was a thing at all…” I looked at the system notifications. “So that was the sparkly light that got inside of me… Now, the earrings. Oh, they’re pretty nice-looking.”

They were not too fancy either, made of delicate black steel and decorated with three small, droplet-shaped black jewels. I decided to quickly equip them, as I only had some basic silver-colored earrings.

“Hmm, do these give me a more mature vibe now?” I asked Gram and Sepa.

Both looked at one another, or well, seemed to be doing that.

“Haha, certainly, you look a BIT more mature, sure.” Sepa said.

[“To be sincere with you, you still got that baby face, Anna.”]

“Ugh, shut up about it!”

I checked the earrings information as I prepared myself to begin yet another day of training and intense trauma dumping.

-----

[You have equipped the [Heavenly Demon’s Black Heaven Earrings (SSS Rank)] x1!]

[You met all the equipment requirements; the Earrings full effects have been granted without limitations.]

Shit, these earrings are godly! Two thousand to all stats, five thousand more Ki, and those two abilities are both simple and very powerful; the first one’s sacrificing your whole defense goes well with the second’s protection ability.

I suppose they were made to harmonize with each other; it might be intended to use both at the same time, perhaps. Well, after equipping it, I walked out as I greeted my master, who was having his breakfast.

“Good morning, Master.”

“Good morning, Anna. Sit down; let’s have a meal. We have to talk about your training regime from now on. There’s around eleven days left before you must depart back to that woman, right?”

“Yeah…” I nodded as I saw Ying Shen serving me food.

“Then I must quickly drill you some knowledge; also, we’ll begin your training of the five seals you’ve obtained right away!”

“Training… Like meditation and fighting dummies? Maybe practicing different poses? Feng shui?” I wondered.

“What are you talking about? Kahahah! The best training is fighting to the death! You’ll go against Martial Beasts! What else?”

“Ah…”

Of course, he’s the Heavenly Demon.

Why did I expect anything else?
