Chapter 14: Merciless
-----
SLAAAAASH!
A massive slash made of pure darkness emerged out of the scythe, as Hans cried in fear, trying to run away from the attack. However, the devastating blow landed, and his entire body hit the ground as the entire surroundings trembled. The flames were immediately turned off as the attack seemed to seep away the entire warmth of the area.
“Unnnggh…! T-This…!”
Hans survived that, lucky bastard. His entire chest was slashed, and his left arm was now gone as he used it to defend himself. Wow, amazing, even 10000 attack is not enough to kill a Demonic Human. I’ve been using Twin Cutter since we started fighting and even that skill added into the damage hasn’t been able to kill him, he’s a tough nut to crack.
“G-Get away from me!”
However, Hans didn’t act with the same bravery he had before. No, he started to run away. Despite having survived, he knew instinctively that this weapon could bring his death, and he didn’t have any time to run away.
“Hoh? Are you running away from a little girl, Hans? Look how the roles have changed now!” I laughed, as I started chasing him with all my speed.
“S-Shut the fuck up! Y-You’re a fucking monster! GET AWAY FROM MEEEE!” Hans desperately began screaming, unleashing Venom Aura attacks with his snake-like claw, but I easily parried them with the Dragon Tooth as I kept leaping forward.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
“I cannot die now, not now! I cannot die now!!!” He began screaming, beginning to run away through another route he didn’t come from, which actually led to the treasure chest I wanted to grab.
“Stop running, you bitch!” I roared, slashing the air as countless blades of darkness emerged from the scythe, hitting the ground or sometimes his tail, which was slashed clean. His back was also filled with slashing wounds bleeding without regenerating, yet he kept running.
“Y-You’re the fucking bitch here- Oh?!”
His eyes suddenly widened as he saw the treasure chest I wanted.
“Hah! T-That’s… a Dungeon Treasure! Maybe I can…!”
As his eyes were filled with hope, threads made of reinforced silk wrapped around his legs and began dragging him towards my direction.
“Eh?! You again?!”
Han noticed Violet’s doing, as he instantly tried to attack him.
“DIEEE!”
A slash of his Venom Aura Claws reached Violet, but my pet was faster than this half-burnt lizard, and easily evaded the blow with his superspeed.
FLASH!
“Why is that damn bug so fast-”
“Yo.”
Hans realized a little too late he was on the floor, right in front of me. I looked down at his pathetic face as I pointed my scythe at his head. It was now or never. I better take care of him before he makes things even worse for me in the future. No hard feelings, but I am not a fan of those protagonists who leave their enemies alive.
“W-Wait! We can become allies! I can protect you!”
“Protect me? I don’t need anybody’s fucking protection.”
“STOP!”
SLAAASH!
I swung the scythe before he could run away, slashing off his neck with a tremendous slash made of darkness. The explosion caused by the attack blew his body away as it fell over the floor, barely keeping itself from being blown into bits. His head rolled over the floor, and I fell to my knees, gasping for air.
“Hahhh… I… did it… Ungh!”
[The [Thanatos’s Broken Scythe (B Rank)] hungers for more Sacrifices!]
[If you continue utilizing its Awakened Powers, it will automatically begin to devour your soul…]
The scythe began attempting to drain more of my Soul, it seemed that not even 20 seconds were enough for the God of Death, he wanted more. I quickly stored the weapon inside my inventory, with around 80 durability left, and then finally was able to rest.
Ding!
[You earned 25000 EXP!]
[Level Up!]

“Class Change…”
Just like with my brother, I guess I can really change my Class as well. I do wonder what I can get… Well, I better take that item first before anything else-
Ding!
[The Constellations were spectating what was happening with great shock, contempt, and at the edge of their seats!]
[The Cosmic Throne {Butterfly That Flies Across The Universe} seems shocked you’re alive, and is slightly angered, as she has lost a bet with the Monkey.]
[She sends nothing, saying you made her lose a lot of money…]
[The Cosmic Throne {Monkey that Dances in Chaos} laughs so loud the entire Universe hears his laughter!]
[He says he believed your insanity the moment he saw you bullshitting that snake guy.]
[He has decided to share the earnings of his bet with you as a reward!]
[You have earned 500 PP!]
Wait what?! That fucking butterfly… Well, and this monkey’s also an asshole, but at least he shared some of what he earned with me.
[The Cosmic Throne {Jester Filled With Lies} is VERY happy about your amazing performance!]
[He sponsors you with 100 PP and [Health Potion (D Rank)] x5 and [Mana Potion (D Rank)] x5!]
[The Cosmic Throne {Maiden that Watches Over Nature} is very relieved you’re alive. She was very worried and had reprimanded the Monkey multiple times already, but he seemed to not listen to her words…]
[She apologizes, sending 200 PP and completely healing all your wounds, mana, and stamina!]
[The Cosmic Throne {Warrior That Seeks Calamity} seems pleased by the amazing battle filled with many stakes.]
[He sponsors you with 100 PP and [Warrior’s Necklace (C Rank)] x1!]
FLASH!
Suddenly, a divine light covered my body, healing all my wounds, fatigue, and exhaustion. This also extended to Violet as he healed as well in a single second. And that warmonger sent me a nice gift too.
Ding!
[Several other Constellations are watching you right now…]
[Some seem more interested and might become sponsors in the future.]
[The Demonic Throne {The Snake That Endlessly Devours Its Tail} seems to gaze at you with interest, even after you’ve slain his subject.]
[He suddenly offers you a deal!]
[Do you wish to have a Demonic Contract with him in exchange for your soul?]
[He promises immense power and great riches!]
“Ah, fuck off.”
Ding!
[The Demonic Throne {The Snake That Endlessly Devours Its Tail} is furious at your insolence against such a powerful Demon as him!]
[The other Constellations sponsoring you seem to laugh at his stupidity.]
[The Cosmic Throne {Monkey that Dances in Chaos} gives him his middle finger.]
[The Cosmic Throne {Warrior That Seeks Calamity} points his sword at him.]
[The Cosmic Throne {Maiden that Watches Over Nature} embraces you with her body to protect you from this wicked evil.]
“You guys don’t need to go so far…”
[The Demonic Throne {The Snake That Endlessly Devours Its Tail} begins to rattle his tail in fear!]
[He slowly begins to run away before provoking the Constellations again…]
[However, he assures you that his subjects won’t let you have a peaceful life!]
“It’s over for you, go away snake.” I sighed, waving the system notifications with my hand and looking at the beautiful treasure chest. “Alright Violet, let’s ignore these annoying constellations and open some loot!”
“Kyuuu!”
Creaak…!
A bright light emanated from the treasure chest, as inside of it, there was a small golden-colored ball resembling a candy made of pure gold. The fantastic item I’ll be stealing from my brother is…
-----
[Holy Sunlight Pill (B Rank)]
A special pill of compressed energy extracted directly from the Sun itself, which has enormous quantities of Yang Essence. Once consumed, it will awaken the user’s meridians with pure Yang Energy, purifying them from any toxins and enhancing the overall physique to the next level. Has a high chance of granting a Unique Physique, Increase Stats Permanently, or give New Skills.
A Special Item originating from one of the Ruined Worlds of the “Murim” Worldline.
-----
From what I remember, this item barely increased my brother’s stats because he was already pretty OP at this point, and it only granted him the ability to shoot sunlight rays, which he didn’t even use. However, it was mostly used to introduce Cultivation aspects to the story, which later on became more prominent. But for a weakling that barely has anything like me, this is a treasure amongst treasures! If I eat this, there’s a high chance for me to obtain a constitution that could actually compare to an actual Hunter!
And just as I grabbed the pill, something happened.
Ding!
[You have collected the [Holy Sunlight Pill (B Rank)]!]
[The effects of [Jester’s Reverse Fortune (S Rank Privilege)] have been activated!]
[Your LUK Stat has been reversed from -11000 to 11000 for this event only!]
[Oh? Incredible! The [Holy Sunlight Pill (B Rank)] Quality Rank has increased to A Rank!]
FLASH!
The pill, as it was held in my hands, started to glow with a golden aura, its powers began to awaken, as if the previous one was merely some candy, while the A Rank quality one was the real deal!
“I can’t believe this power even works like this…” I felt shocked, but I didn’t want to waste more time, eating the pill.
“Crunch, crunch…”
Hmm, it tastes like honey with some herbal scent mixed in. Ahh, and it makes my body feel very warm.
FLAAASH!
Suddenly, the aura of brightness started spreading around my body, I felt as if every vein of my body was beginning to “open” and a brand-new power was flowing through them.
Ding!
[You have consumed the [Holy Sunlight Pill (A Rank)]!]
[A large quantity of Yang Essence is flowing across your body!]
[The very power of the sun begins to unlock your Meridians, awakening a new Physique within your feeble body!]
[Initiating Body Restructuration…]
Wait, body restructuration?
CRACK!
And then, an agonizing pain started spreading around my body, as I felt my bones breaking, my muscles tearing apart, and my internal organs bursting!
“Aaaagggh…!”
Ding!
[The process might be painful! Careful!]
Yeah, no shit…
