"Yes duchess your speed has grown to an incredible level" Ella said giving a compliment which coming from her was incredibly rare.
"I told you already to call me Alexia" The duchess sighed walking toward as while stepping over blood and separated flesh.
"Forgive me but it's quite hard getting used to it" Ella looked toward her sheathing her blade.
"Although i am a duchess but when I'm with you I'm nothing more then a member of the Hero's party" She said looking toward me as well.
"You were our teacher so it's only right we act respectful" I said making the duchess sigh running her hand through her hair.
"Your making me feel old stop it" She said as she shook her head.
"Don't exaggerated you've still maintained your youthful beauty" i said subconsciously before I realized what I said and felt my cheeks turn a bit warm.
"Oh my" She put her hand over her mouth and giggled slightly.
"if I was twenty years younger I just might have blushed" The Duchess smiled at me but for some reason I felt shivers feeling two gazes pour into me,
"Should we return?" I quickly spoke changing the subject as I sheathed my own blade.
"Yes although I will never get used to those 'Inn' As you call them I still want to rest" The Duchess said before I heard a low hum from Nessa who was to my side still.
"I want to take a bath" I tried not to imagine such a scene of Nessa bare and covered in bubbles before I looked at Ella.
"We came here to kill this beast so we might as well rest for a couple days before heading out once more" She agreed before raising her hand toward the fallen beasts as light appeared in her palm.
The remains of the creature seemed to sizzle and disappear not leaving behind even the green blood, it only took a couple of seconds before the forest was completely clean with only the fallen trees showing the after effects of our fight.
"Let's go then" I smiled looking toward the sky as I remembered one of the most important days of my life.
Peace was never easy between the three races which led to blood shed along with many wars. Human's thought of themselves as superior to both Elf's and beastKin while the other similarly thought the same. Elf's thought of themselves as closer to world since they were born from the world three while beast kin argued they were superior to humans.
The three races had their own domains where they tried kept to themselves although that couldn't stop eventual conflict.
Although I was a human I couldn't deny that we were the majority of the problem, We were a greedy race that enslaved the other races. Even if there were some who disagreed with slavery there was nothing we could do against the ruling class. The nobles were the ones that truly had power and they thought of them selves as pure blooded.
Perhaps five years ago was actually a blessing in disguise for our broken world, It was the day that demons appeared.
Filthy creatures with gray ash colored skin that was almost impenetrable and void black eyes that seemed to hold no emotion. They had long limbs with razor sharp claws attached to their hands and horns that usually circled their heads like crowns, The lower class demon's had no intelligence being nothing more then machines of slaughter but it was the one's who could form thoughts that were truly terrifying.
Demon's poured from what we now call dungeon's attacking the continent over night, No one was spared weather it be the humans, elf's or the beast kin, we were all left helpless by the gruesome first appearance. Thousands died that day which we now call 'The Day Of Passing' and the world was left fighting an enemy whose number seemed almost endless.
With such a terrifying enemy to face who could wield magic that had never been seen before and could even survive losing limbs or organs the three races were forced to set aside centuries of differences and form a alliance. Slavery was abolished and the continent United fighting together as one, And yet even with the world in harmony the threat of the demons was too much for them to handle.
Hundreds of thousands died as the Demon's constantly pushed the alliance back at every turn, They barley won battles and the ones they did were nothing more then small ones that didn't matter, With hope being a word people were starting to lose the sky's themselves shined down and the goddess herself sent a message.
'Oh pitiful mortals I have blessed you with the one who will slay the filthy creatures of the void'
The chosen Hero of the goddess appeared.
A young commoner boy who grew up in a small village life was changed, That boy was me.
