57 – A Magitech Doll isn’t a PC, but let’s pray this works

"Shishou, you really are amazing!" (Sasha)

"Umu. To be able to fiddle with a Magitech Doll is incredible." (Stella)

While Sasha and Stella were praising me on one hand, on the other…

"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" (Shamoa)

Yeah. I don't. This is nothing like a PC. I'm just fiddling with a screwdriver I made from ice. But come on. It's not like I can do more damage. After my battle, we first tended to Shamoa's wounds. They weren't that serious, but nonetheless, we took care of them.

I also had a hard time prying her out of the twin loli's hands because they kept wanting to pet her and play with her.

And now the second order of business was to see how to find the reset button for this Doll. Honestly I'm surprised I even managed to open her up to see her structure. It's on a totally different level altogether.

While carefully making my way as to not damage anything I notice a gear fell out of alignment. So I placed it back in what seemed to be its original position. The Doll lifted her head and opened her eyes. I was startled that she might attack again but…

"Interrogation mode enabled."

"Huh? What did you say?"

"Interrogation mode enabled. Detailing: it is a mode developed in order for this unit to give detailed information regarding missions or other subjects of interest. Feel free to address questions."

Well this is rather convenient. Although if she fell in the wrong hands, for her to not have any restrictions regarding this function… just what kind of an idiot was the guy who built her?

"Oh. Now I understand. Shishou, you enabled that so you can ask her how to fix herself. As expected!" (Stella)

You're giving me too much credit. But, I guess all this flattery does warm my heart a little.

"Ahem. Then before anything else, please state your name."

"Model XUQ954A2V556E. Code name: Gamma."

Yeah. I'll definitely stick with Gamma. There's no way I will ever remember the model name.

"Ok Gamma. Can you fix yourself?"

"Analyzing…

Self repair is possible. However please note that when self repair is finished, this unit will not exit interrogation mode until it is asked to boot up again. Waiting for confirmation."

"Yes. That's perfect. Then please repair yourself."

"Understood. Commencing self repair."

Gamma twisted her hands around. Thanks to her doll joints she could literally spin her arms 360 degrees. Not to mention her fingers opened up revealing various tools. Reminds me of a swiss army knife. I tried following her movements but I really couldn't understand anything she was doing.

After roughly 10 minutes, she finished.

"Self repair completed. This unit can once again function at full capacity. Awaiting further questions."

"Ok. Here's one. I want to own you. How do I do that?"

"Analyzing intent…

Warning: based on this units database, you desire is to have this unit act as your servant. Is that correct?"

"Yeah. Pretty much. Like a maid that answers to my will."

"Further warning: this unit is specialized in combat. Other areas have been sacrificed for that purpose. If you desire to use this unit akin to a personal assistant, the AI will need plenty of time to adjust to your desires.

Note: this unit's original orders were "to protect life" and "to save those in need". Reissuing a different purpose will involve a full memory wipe. This unit shall also require a minimum of 2 new orders to begin initial boot up. Is that acceptable?"

"Yes. Ok. Then, do what you got to do and become mine already."

"Protection: in order for this unit to not fall into wrong hands, you must answer a question. If the answer is unsatisfactory the unit will restart with previous settings."

I see. Just like a firewall. Well I am not surprised. If she were to ever fall in battle this was a safety measure so that her powers would not be used wrong.

"Okay. Let's hear the question."

"What am I?"

"Huh? You're… Gamma?"

"Yes. The code name for this unit is Gamma. Clarification required: the intent is to identify how you see this unit. What is this unit in your eyes? So I will repeat. What am I?"

"Careful, Edel. This is something lost in time. You only got one chance here. Who knows what her maker thought when he created her?" (Shamoa)

"There's only one logical answer. You're a cute loli automaton that will soon serve me with utmost perfection."

"I can't believe you said that! It can't be something that simple. The true purpose must be more complicated than that!!" (Shamoa)

"Input received. Acknowledged. Your answer is deemed acceptable. This unit will begin full memory wipe and reboot. This unit shall acknowledge you as its master. Please state your original orders."

Once again, Shamoa’s jaw dropped as if not believing that my answer was the correct one.

Ok. This is really what I need to pay attention to. Her maker really gave her shitty orders. So no wonder her algorithm went crazy. It's just like making a wish to a genie. If you wish for a mountain of gold, you'll find yourself buried under it. You have to be very specific. Well, in my case, I know what orders I want to give her.

"Alright, Gamma. You will follow my command no matter what. You will never betray me. And you will not harm my companions."

"Orders received. Beginning reboot…"

We waited for her to finish whatever she was doing. I gotta say, this reminds me of making a clean OS install. But unlike anything that I was expecting after a while a bright light emerged from Gamma. So bright it actually made us close our eyes.

When the light show ended, she was fully standing and to my surprise… wearing a chinese dress. What's more…

"Tee-hee, onee-chan! Nice to meet you. Gamma will do her best to be of service to you!"

.

.

.

"Gamma, what's that supposed to be?"

"I have multiple personalities programmed in me. And during my short encounter with you, the algorithm decided that this personality would be to your liking."

"What bullshit algorithm is that? A hyperactive little sister? That's a weird personality."

I already have 2 ditzy lolis. I seriously don't need another one.

"Don't worry, onee-chan. The more I hang out around you, the more I will learn how to serve you better. So please don't be shy and command me as you see fit."

Oh boy. What have I gotten myself into? For the time being let's leave it at that. There's one more thing I need to solve before I can rest.
